  1. Moburma, I think the crashing has to do with the way it is currently ( radio dials callback) is set up. I removed all but one of the dials and was able to make it work without crashing. I need to work on the loop. Also on the black shark, there was an issue posted about the wrong values being exported in some cases when moved too fast. About to head home so, no internet for a few days, will update when I get home.( In about ten days, don't let this thread die....LOL.)
  2. Forgot, I do agree with Moburma ; most of the things that has been done with the mfd is a little gimmicky considering the position of the mfd on the throttle. I have the option of tearing apart my x52 and creating a panel that will house my switches and mfd screen. Once done , I will be able to set it up in front of my monitor and be able to glance at the readout.
  3. NO, Not a good idea. Giving up is for someone else. As far as you have gotten , a nap is in order and a fresh look later. I think I have found some info that may make things come together for the rotaries. Let me study more and work it out. Also, I think a lot of crashes are coming from the fact that DCS products only use two threads and we are adding directoutput commands to the mix, in other words I think we are over working the threads/program. we need to kick the info over to another receiver program that operates alone and sends/receives info to and from Dcs module. The addition you created for selecting modules/lua export is just the ticket we needed. I will work on a Saitek lua socket and from there we can better control input and output, thus we should be able to eliminate the crashes. The lua export we are working with were meant to show that it works , it now needs to be separated from the main program. That is my theory for now.
  4. We got Moved !!!!!! Just a heads up .......
  5. if you are getting the display to produce the intended items from the sim , then all is good. The LUa for windows install may not have installed correctly the first time.
  6. well now , That is kinda cool!!!!! Reminds me of the aha!!! moment when I got the Page change and device change theory together. That changes things a bit for the better . Good Catch !!!!! I sent you a rep but it is not showing .
  7. Good job, been a bit busy , but I should be able to get back on the a-10. I was having troubles with the math and the radio switches are still something I have to fiddle more with.
  8. Moburma, I just took a brief look at your latest export lua. Question, where did you get the idea to do it as you did? I remember there were questions on if that could be done for Helios profiles and there was a work around created... Did I miss a post or two somewhere? Kudos are in order in any case.
  9. Oh, I forgot, I know you aimed the question of the stop watch at Chrillith but, I can answer. There is no functions providing access to the stop watch other than within SST program. The Start , stop and reset button only works with the stop watch. I wish those buttons were available.
  10. Moburma, Took a look at your version of the export and I have to say +1. I was thinking about how I wanted to adjust the landing lights led to show up on all pages . Never thought of doing it like you did. Excellent job. That is what this thread is all about. There is very little info on how to work with the mfd and I was hoping to put some info out there so others can use it as they wished. What you are doing and what Kurcha did makes my involvement in this process very worthwhile and rewarding. Thank you for the feed back and great work. Algerad3
  11. Yes , it is hard coded to use lua 5.1 I actually had to re-install my c drive and I tried to use 5.2(?) the new lua module. It failed and I spent half the day trying to figure it out. Awesome job on the guide.
  12. Cowboy, THe switch and radio panels ( if I am thinking of the same ones your are talking about) use a different set of drivers and does not have "Directoutput" access. These devices are designed with "DirectOutpt" in mind. I don't have any of those items , but I understand that they have been programmed by some people to interface with Non FSX simulators. As I learn more skillzz I may have to buy a set and have a go at them and see what I can do.
  13. Ah, well now I think I see what you are saying.... Actually the Dll goes in the Dcs world \bin . 4th folder down on the first set of folders. If I understand correctly you put the dll in the mods folder that is why it can not find it. As for the export lua , you just need to save the original export lua you find in Config\Export(the one just under bin.) Paste that lua that you downloaded in its place ( make ssure you have the original saved somewhere safe in case you need it for reference /replacement etc.. After that you should be good to go. I have done some work for the a-10 version, just need to hone the math skills and get the radio switches to act right. any more questions holla.
  14. Geez, I'm guessing it will be released around the 15th!!! Why?? Cause I am on a ship. Internet is $1.50 a mb. We will be ten days (rough guess) away from heading home. Home is another ten days away. Three days to offload and five days clean up before I can get to real internet. I will have two weeks to try to fly ,crash etc.... We will then set sail and then a patch will come out to fix the glitches that causes me to continuously crash. It will be a 150 mb download. So I will have to spend 5 months crashing until I get the update. Quit griping , you will get it much sooner than I , then you will get it fixed sooner than I . All I will be able to do is watch from the sidelines and whimper like a lost puppy. (sigh ) I love my choices in Careers!!!!!
  15. Cowboy10uk.... We moved this thread to this location http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=94174 I got a few things to work on the Fip. In the last example Lua file posted , I was able to control the radios with the x52 pro. Have a dig through. I also replied to your question on the other thread. Hope that helps.
  16. Moburma, which module , KA-50 #1 , Ka-50 # 2/upgrade or Dcs World? Lets take a look at your export file. Also, did you install the Saitek Pro Flight instrument panel drivers? They will work for the X -52 pro and the Fip...that driver is required to interface. Cowboy10uk...In the last lua.export example posted I included access to the radios for the Ka-50. Sometimes causes a crash or freezes things up, still working on learning the ins and outs of programming. You should be able to run it as is .
  17. Welcome aboard Jay, Real life has kept me busy but, yes still chugging along on it. Fip is short for Flight instrument Panel ; another device made by Saitek that uses the direct output dll. Somewhere in this thread is a series of tutorials that will get you up to speed with what i currently know about programming the Saitek devices. Give them a read and play around with it. If you want to edit the lua files it is recommended that you use Note++ ( a free notepad editor, just google and you will find. Notepad as I understand , is not fully reliable in converting lua scripts properly. If you have any more questions let us know .
  18. hey, The x-65 is kinda different. It measures the amount of force you exert on it ( as you already know). It really needs a steady surface and a relaxed hand. I normally use a platform I made (take a stick of lumber say 2" x 2" x3' , on that secure a platform to rest ( secure) your stick . Do the same for your throttle. Insert or attach to you desk/chair so that it rest in a position that allows your arm to rest on the armrest of your chair. The force of your hand on the hand rest will be reduced and finer input control will be had. At first after transitioning from the x52 pro to the x65 , it was like butter. then for some reason i was having the same problems you described until I did the above. Once that is done , you can better feel the force required to do as you please.
  19. Is anyone experiencing weird behavior with their x52 pro mfd screen. For me , if i plug into the main board usb.. I get a really bad lag. If I plug into a hub, the lag goes away but the screen is way to jittery. Was working on a-10 script last night and got a solid screen using a hub, but tonight back to jitters. Anyways, a-10 seems to be less forgiving than the black shark, so it will take a little longer than I hoped. Radios almost there !!! so there is a little good news.
  20. It is a bit different flying with the x-65, especially the black shark and it's trim system. I like the way you set things up and will give it a try, looks like it will solve a lot of little quirks and issues inherent to the "non- moving" stick.
  21. Chrillith, I was working on the scroll wheel for a bit and was getting a lot of freezes and crashes. When I finally put the things together as they are now (in the script) The crashes stopped. I believe , in the case of Dcs products, the crashes were the result of the learning process and wrong code placement. I have not tried the fip yet , it was crashing too, but I am sure that when I get it coded properly ( as close to it as I can do ) it should stop. I will update.
  22. oh , crap ... forgot , Ripcord... I got some button functions going on for the fip. Not quite yet ready. No pics on the little screen yet ( gotta learn how to draw gauges) but i can control the abris with them. will also be able to do the button functions for each gauges. Give me about a week.
  23. advancements have been made !!!!!!!! Well , I must be getting better at this. I finally wrapped my head around a few things and after pounding the desk a few times I got it working.:book: If you use this new export file, keep in mind that I did not add in the math that Karcha has provided....not yet, was frustrating enough to get where i got. On the radio page , if you press the scroll wheel and then roll it up or down you will get a pleasant surprise.( it was for me ) not sure how useful it is in single player, but you team speak peoples might love it. I will add tuning for the r-828 in the next few weeks, Gotta get on the a-10 project. Now that i know how to program the x52p to change radio freqs, it will be done for the a-10. Export.lua
  24. if it blows up right away it might not be activated/registered. My A-10 module for dcs world does that ,somehow I ran out of activations. A-10 standalone works fine.
  25. Ripcord, I totally agree with you there. It would have also helped if they created their dll. to function the way the lua dll. works. Simple to use and creates a rewarding environment for learning puter programing. Karcha, Maybe you want to gloss over this, ( actually anyone can.) I am trying to get the r-800 knobs to function independently off of the right scroll wheell click, it seems that if I press scroll wheel down and roll the knob I get two or three dials turning, when I lift off the button and scroll, I get the left dial to turn as a single unit. I am trying to get the dials to turn individually after every click. ( dial 1 rolls , click scrollwheel and then dial 2 rolls etc.) Also here is a list of most of the arguments from blackshark that can be used by the desired saitek products. I have not included warning lights , landing gear etc just yet. Heading over to the A-10 side of things for minute( try and get that together) the Lua file is a kludge of a mess right now , just for testing and exploring. Export.lua dcs arguments - Copy.zip
