  1. I believe I did..but I will double check that. :pilotfly:
  2. here's a simple refueling mission i whipped up a while back for practice... (it's linked in the missions and campaigns forum). radio freqs and such are detailed in the briefing. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68563
  3. what altitude or method would you ideally approach an SA-8 or SA-15 while trying to range with mavericks ?? These seem to swat me down no matter what I do so far.. Would love to hear how to tackle them successfully.. :helpsmilie:
  4. that list looks about right to me...with the last two being the only possible change.. I have been able to sneak up on BUK's more easily than TOR's.. So i'd put TOR at the bottom of the list myself. but that's just me. :-P
  5. I wait until it says DTS Upload Complete on the CDU before I hit the Load all button on the mfd.. never had a problem with it. Didn't think it was related to the hud, but I could be wrong (and often am..lol) Hope Greb comes back soon with some more killer missions... :pilotfly:
  6. Can't wait to try this one out.. Truly appreciate your efforts and direction.. The DCS:WH community is blessed to have such a handful of eager mission builders like we have, including yourselves.. Thanks much for all your work. Your missions and scripting work are what makes waiting for fixes and patches somewhat tolerable for me and the sim that much more entertaining all the way around. User added content to a viable platform is so often overlooked and lacking in games and simulations that could be expanded upon greatly but rarely are, leading to boredom at running the same stock missions over and over.. So thanks again and keep up the good work.:pilotfly:
  7. I won't... Crossing fingers and hoping it IS the F-18.. DCS level F-18 is my holy grail right now.. Let's just hope Julia didnt do this just to mess with all the speculators out there.. :music_whistling::lol:
  8. In open servers, If it's not jerks shooting down friendly planes in formation, or the tanker you're trying to connect to, it's people like Mower pointed out above who bitch about how everyone's flying it when they come in or something similar...that seems to be the general consensus. Some nights i can handle whatever comes in and I leave my server open.. some i just want to run specific missions with those i know, and I keep it closed. As mentioned some only allow access after you get on TS/comms, which allows some interface with people as opposed to waiting for the silent plane coming up behind you to see if he starts strafing you or throwing sidewinders at you before you know to boot him.
  9. We flew it last night and got an IR Shorad task. Searched nearby and found one strela which was eliminated with a GBU no problem. No other targets of any kind could be found anywhere else in the area but we never got another task.. Flew down thru the area to try and draw fire for my wingman to key on, but nothing was down there.. Skimmed the deck around that town for some time and nothing. Finally we left to go find the tanker downrange and before we got there, the mission and my DCS crashed. Just letting you know what I ran into.. Great mission so far.. is there some way to force the next task to spawn out for situations like this ??
  10. What's surprising about that ?? Between the wing area left and the large tail section.. you still have a good bit of flight surface there.. Looks like the wings on an su25 now.. I landed one like this once. it was wild but controllable.
  11. imho, the most important thing here is that flight level.. Focusing on your FPM bubble and keeping it flat on the horizon line before you start your final approach to the tanker is key, as it is throughout the process really. Get yourself flat and trimmed so you are making little to no inputs to keep it level once you get it there.. (You cant run autopilot with the fuel door open so you have to get it trimmed as level as possible and hold it..) when you have it under control and have called for pre-contact, watch the boom come down, and what I do is orient my nose level with the bottom of the boom probe..then very slowly ease forward within range of the boom..focusing on that alt level, not the boom. The boom will come to you if you are within it's reach and if you stay on level and close very slowly. When the boom is filling your hud, you should be less than a half knot closure up to a stop...then just inch forward til it connects and hold it there.. this is the best way to attain sustainable connections i have found. You can approach faster and from angles and get connections, but they almost always disconnect right away in my experience so far.. I've held it until topped off several times now, and it's pretty wild. Keeping it within the red zones on the boom when connected is just as much a challenge as connecting was. Hope this helps..
  12. LOL...yeah it is a little nerve wracking isnt it ?? :joystick: Fun though.:pilotfly:
  13. have you tried adjusting the axis tuning curve for roll ?? those curves make a great difference for my x52.. dunno how that x65 reacts differently, but it might be worth a try.
