Hi, After 2 weeks of trials I Finally found a bigger LCD that is fast enough to handle the radar altimeter. I had to try a few and work a lot on color management, not sure I understand everything I need, workflow is difficult, lots of trials and errors trying to get Photoshop 16 bits colors to match TFT screens RGB565 and get something at least viewable without too much color shift. Have to work and understand Vinc_Vega's sketches on PWM for ESP32, last time I tried I couldn't make it... I simply couldn't understand,still home works to do. IMG_1631.MOV

I can't wait to be retired form work in 3 years, I need to spend more time on my many projects...People here on this forum are all really nice and helpful. Here's my last project thought it would go easy at first but got into trouble getting sprites overs sprites over sprites. I've had a few issues with the red and green lights trying to simulate it. That's where most of my time went in this one (flickering issues), now solved. Over the video the red and green lights when off appears to be to too bright but live they're just fine. I now only have to work the increase / decrease situation over an encoder with an ESP32 and PWM, from what I understand right now it works somehow different then Arduino, work in progress for this part. Ahh also need to find another display a little bigger, I don't think I'll find a round one but will search for something around 2.25 / 2.5 inches IMG_1622.MOV

The completely round one is a Waveshare 1.28 LCD with GC09A01 driver, the one with a square circuit board was bought on Amazon same driver

No1sonuk did you make the demo of the servo, I bought a few but didn't went far with it, and like said on my previous post I thought x27 where pretty hard to understand and code.

Wow that's a nice screen, great work looks fantastic. I'll have to search a little more in the next few days, I'm on the FA18 Radar Altimeter right now with the same small 1.28" waveshare but will need to make one a little bigger like around 2.5".

I've previously made an IAS with a stepper x27 and if I consider the stepper, driver, hall effect I had to use I would say the price comes close one to another. But foremost I'm quite impressed by the quality of graphic on Oled/Lcd, and find it gets me more in line with what I see on screen with the game. I must be masochist... in a way I had fun searching, reading and learn with these screens. The Battery gauge took me overall 1.5 to 2 months to figure out, the brake pressure I got it within a week, and for the past two days I've bee working on the radar Altimeter, which has a lot more going on and I should be able to finish in a day or two. I for myself find it easier to work with (easier) than steppers, I didn't do much with servos but I assume it should be similar to stepper.

Yes I did, I've learned a lot over the past two months. I'm going next on the Hydraulic pressure one and when I feel strong enough I'll go for the one that scares me ''the Attitude Indicator'' you've been great inspiration with the one you posted on Vimeo thanks

Thanks to you also Vinc_Vega, I noticed servo.h was not supported by ESP32, I downloaded another library that should work if I need later on, but for now I was coding for a round 240 x 240 Oled screen inspired by the video of your different gauges I've seen on Vimeo. Thanks Lot2learn

Thank You No1sonuk for your help on that one, it took me a week to understand the mapping function in conjunction with the pointer calibration tool in DCS-Bios FP. Having it reset to 16 volts when there is a change of scenario, mission, or simply when the game is paused was also a challenge for me, but I got it working the way it should. thanks again for taking the time to help. Thank you very much, I would appreciate if you could send your example. I'm bad at coding and the more I get example the better I 'll get ( I Hope ). Making sketch for switch and pots was easy at first now it's more in the major league with steppers and oled...I find it though.

Thanks so much, I'll give it a try tomorrow morning, do you know if DCS Bios is supporting ESP32 ? I've had errors earlier when I tried it said that servo and DCS Bios libraries both didn't support ESP32, they do with Atmel, STM and many others but I'm not sure with ESP32. Thanks No1sonuk, It took me 6 weeks to get over this with a potentiometer, I have very few skills in programming so I understand part of what your telling me here but most of it I'll have to research, and make a little trial and errors lolll. It's been a long time 5/6 months or so since I tried coding with DCS Bios, and just realized while trying that it looks like DCS Bios and servo.h does not work with ESP32 I think, I may be wrong. thanks again

HI, Really proud of this one, it has been a long run of over 6 weeks of research, trials and errors but I finally got it to work over a potentiometer for now... Next is going to be for me to find how to implement in harmony with Bios Fork...which should turn out in a few weeks of learning curves. Thanks to Vince Vega who without knowing got me into this, after I finished my first mechanical IAS with stepper X27 I saw his videos of different gauges oleds project on Vimeo, I was really impressed with the quality of graphics, and decided to buy many ESP32's and Oled and took the plunge. I taught at first that the batteries gauge would be an easy one to go with at first but having two needles going opposite ways was the most challenging part for me. Well I have a Creality CR-6 MAX and a Prusa MK3S+ already, thing is the MAX is not as reliable as Prusa is, I ordered the XL last February and they are about to ship, plan was (if not changed) to ship somewhere in January 2023. This gives me the chance to develop my skills with Electronics. I just finished the IAS showed above, I worked on it for the past 2 weeks... I'm not good in Arduino programming, it's been a long learning process. Now going on the Stand By Altimeter, more complex with the Oled's still have to go with the VSI to finish with the toughest one The Attitude Indicator.

I had a look at them but 1) They are pretty expansive and 2) They work with a board that I know nothing about, so I decided to built my own (3D Printed). At the end the whole bunch of Standby gauges would have cost me around 2000 $ CDN, without knowing if they would work with DCS. Also I'm trying to replicate the originals as much as I can, but the road to success with these things is a long one. I've been working on my cockpit for a year now, didn't play a lot for the past year...Still waiting for a 3D printer Prusa XL to get out in the market to complete the bigger parts, should be in soon now I hope.

It is 100, 1000, 10000. Sorry for misleading you, My point here is only that I don't think the address for the 1000 is good. From what I learned it's not on the Hornet, I tried a code for the Altimeter on the Hornet and the 1000 is not sending data to the Arduino, even on DCS-Bios (fork) the data from 0x74f8 look erratic for the 1000. I'm trying to find out if there is a Lua file in DCS folders that I could have a look at to find the address.

I did use that address but it does not return the thousands to DCS-Bios Fork, Does yours returns data ? I bought A10-C module to see if Middlefart Arduino sketch was working on it (sending correct data to Altimeter's Oled) and it did, so I figured that the problem was coming from the address of the thousands in DCS-Bios, the ten thousands and hundreds are working fine. I don't know if there is a way to retrieve addresses from a Lua file in DCS somewhere ? Thanks for you're answer No1sonuk

Hey Cyphey11, I too was trying to get the StandBy Altimeter Working by using Middlefart's Arduino's sketch in another thread and modify it to apply to F-18. I just bought an hall effect sensor to do the same and get the needle to zero, I'll work on it for the next few days for my StandBy IAS. The Thing I found is that the thousand feet in the digital OLED is not working neither on the OLED, the control reference in DCS-Bios or Fork, so I just bought the A-10C (Middlefart's code was built on this plane) and wanted to see if it worked good for me, and that I didn't have anything else not working, and it does work as it should on the A10C except for the OLED Baro I'll have to do a little homework on that too. My conclusion is that the address in DCS-Bios control Reference (Fork as the same Issue) is either not the good one or not working as iut should for the F-18 StandBy Gauge. Is yours working on the thousands feet ? If yes could you please tell me what address do you used ? Thanks in advance Lot2Learn

Hi, Not sure if there is something wrong with my game, but I don't get any value over DCS-Bios on the Stand-By VSI . It states No Data Yet even after a long time. Is that a value that is not developed yet ? I just made the IAS gauge with a stepper X27 and wanted to do that one before taking the plunge and try the altimeter. Thanks for your help.

Hey, I Was wondering after long research on the Web, Is there someone who sells Stand By Gauges to fit with DCS for Hoem Cockpit? At least Altimeter and R Altimeter ? Can't find them anywhere. Thanks

I ordered 3 screens on May 20th, The guy used to respond quickly at first when I was questioning, He stated at first it would take 5-8 weeks to get it shipped since he had a 100 to do. I paid and got it ordered. Now Yesterday I emailed him to have an update since I'm going out of town for vacations and dont want him to ship while I'm out, 24 hours has gone by now with no answer. 2021-06-23 He finally answered yesterday, and said that the screens wouldn't be delivered until august. Fine with me since I wont play that much with summer vacations...

I had the same problem running with a EVGA3080, it used to crash every time I restarted a mission. I followed RTS354 and now load the game as administrator, played a lot that way yesterday and this morning and since then 0 crashes, looks good.
