  1. We are a US based group looking for highly active pilots. Our group has a relaxed and easy-going attitude out of game but we are heavily focused on immersion in game. Currently we have Squadrons for the A-10C, F/A-18C, F/14A/B, F-16C, KA-50, and JF-17. If you are interested and would like to chat feel free to drop into our Discord: https://discord.gg/sYHMbZx
  2. We are a US based Group (Not to be confused with 23rd Fighter Squadron) comprised of multiple Squadrons flying the A-10C, F/A-18C Lot 20, F-14B, KA-50, and here soon[tm] the F-16CM Blk 50. We host a evolving campaign mission roughly every three weeks that lasts around six hours with multiple step times and mission types available throughout. One of the things that is important to us is constant self improvement through self-critique and practice. We are willing to train anyone who is active and willing to learn. If you are interested in joining or would like more information please drop by our discord: https://discord.gg/sYHMbZx
  3. I'll do you one better. F14 why?
  4. 23d Fighter Group 23rd Fighter Group (23 FG) is a new milsim unit for DCS. Currently we are filling our 13th Fighter Squadron for future use as an F-16C squadron. In the interim we are flying the F/A-18C Hornet in a land based capacity. We are looking for highly motivated, active players that are interested in a heavy milsim environment in game with a casual approach out of game. Our goal is to provide the resources and training to produce procedurally proficient and tactically capable pilots able to interoperate with any other unit. 23 FG is structured in a manner to provide leadership at every level from own ship up through the squadron. Element and Flight leaders will take their positions seriously and serve as intermediates in the chain of command. Each new member is given a comprehensive checkride to determine individual level of skill. Any follow-on training is specifically tailored for areas of demonstrated weakness. The majority of our training is focused on tactical employment of our aircraft and supplementary training diving deep into specific systems. We are still willing and able to accommodate new pilots. The ideal 23 FG member is very active, self-studies, and is striving for continual improvement. We have a heavy focus on self critique and providing positive critical feedback for each other. This feedback is meant to help point out areas for self-improvement and are not meant to degrade or otherwise alienate fellow members. We don’t have a website but may set one up in the future. If you are interested in joining please pop into our Discord!
  5. If I were to win I would change my name to Jason Peters and name my sons and daughters Jason Peters.
  6. You will probably win, don't know of any C130's carrying any guns.
  7. It is not a super bug it is just a bug.
  8. Night Vision goggles are something you put on by hand, there is no switch to turn it on in the cockpit. Default command is Right Shift + H You can find it under "Toggle Goggles"
  9. For US submarines passive SONAR can only provide bearing to the target, everything else after that is obtained from repeated recordings of the same target to get speed, range, target bearing, and target course. Submarines do not "lock" targets they simply have a fire control party that gets the ADCAP to a specific area ( since it is wire guided ) and the ADCAP will take care of the rest as it has a high freq sonar array built in for terminal guidance. If active sonar was required SSBN's wouldn't even carry torpedoes because they are not equipped with any HF arrays. The US wants to lease a Gotland class submarine because it is diesel and because our most current threat ( china ) has a lot of diesel submarines. A crucial part of any submarines work up trials is submarine to submarine combat against your expected foe.
  10. With that sort of technology you would be effectively creating a buffer between your hull and their so yes it would in fact be possible to limit the ability for other ships to hear what is going on inside your hull more than current technology. US submarines have already countered the noise fight with nuclear reactors but you still have a lot more going on a submarine that is loud and can give away your position. If it didn't help deter passive sonar they would not pursue it (because that is how a submarine finds another submarine/surface vessel in the first place).
  11. SONAR is how you listen to the sounds in the ocean. Their are two "modes" active and passive, by simply listening using a SONAR array you are not broadcasting your position. Using passive SONAR does not give away your position. Anything you can do to keep sound from being passed through your hull to the ocean helps in avoiding detection.
  12. The A-10C doesn't carry hellfire's nor is the main cannon capable of making hell fire.
  13. Frederfs CMS threat program table has the RWR name as one of its features. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63162&highlight=rwr+frederf
  14. utorrent ( micro torrent ) is a good heavyweight torrent app. If you know what you are doing you can get it to download well seeded files at screaming speed. It also has options to mask your identity so big brother can't figure out what you are up to so easily.
  15. Thank you for your official update. Saitek X52
  16. I haven't noticed this though I do not have a deadzone set on my control stick so I am able to make the very minute adjustments to keep level. Not that it might help you with your issue but when I trim out the aircraft I get the total velocity vector to stop moving up or down no matter my attitude and it will normally hold there as long as speed and wind are constant.
  17. Are you holding constant speed? If you aren't doing that and are speeding up the aircraft will nose up the more speed it picks up and nose down the more speed it loses naturally.
  18. As far as I know the A-10 only deploys with HEI in Iraq/Afghanistan as there are no tanks to be busting.
  19. In the real video the gun is fired twice. You hear the supersonic rounds passing by first and then the burp of the gun. The first set of rounds is far enough out ( and the video blurry enough ) that you do not see the discharge from the gun. Though the close rang one you notice that the supersonic crack of the rounds passing and the sound of the gun firing are closer together so if you are not listening closely you might mistake it for only 3 sounds ( supersonic crack -> rounds fired -> impact ) instead of 4 ( two separate firings of the GAU-8 ).
  20. This bug seems to come up when someone attempts to fire their gun with no remaining bullets.
  21. Warthog HOTAS is so cold that I keep my green nomex gloves around so my hands don't get too chilly. That and in case whatever is on the stove in the kitchen catches in fire I am ready to play fireman.
  22. So you killed christmas then?
  23. The last mission I took part in of someone elses design had a very saturated AA environment with no SEAD which forced at least me to stay low. Using a GBU-38 I managed to come in on the deck and do a last minute pop up onto a convoy and lobbed my bomb approx. 1.3nm from ~4,000 ft AGL. After release the bomb climbed from 4,350 ft to a peak of 5,130 ft then descended to hit the target. That is the best performance I've gotten out of a JDAM so far and I was already 320 knots before a 45 degree climb to release.
  24. QNE = 29.92 pressure at mean sea level.

    CCRP

CCRP does calculate wind based on winds currently being experienced by the aircraft which are computed to be as accurate as possible on the way down for the bomb. That doesn't mean your bomb will hit since it isn't actually calculating real wind. Right now the CCRP mode just isn't working that great in wind as it should steer you straight ahead into the solution cue if you are aligned instead of swerving off at the last moment. I don't know what we would do without your help Tyger, but I would like to find out.
