Could be accidentally set and activated "Throttle Control Lock" ?

It is LCtrl + X by default.

yup, indeed it was a throttle lock! Thank you for the suggestion!

no idea how it gets activated though, I don't have it assigned to any hotas butons, only the keyboard shortcut was there, so I removed it as well.

Uppercase vs lowercase. It's the same difference between 100MBps and 100Mbps

    that still doesn't explain it.

    MB = Mega Bytes

    mb = Mega bits

the RAM is already at 16GigaBytes, not 16GigaBits. So actually need to multiply it by 8 to get your GigaBits, i.e. 16x8 = 128GigaBits

    why am I typing this...

    Hi all,

    we will investigate.

But it is important to do a G warm up, dont be pulling to many G's to quickly, watch for the grey out for the indication of black out and G lock

    thank you

hi, @BIGNEWY, thank you for the hint on the G warm up, it's exciting that we have it in the war birds as well.

However, I have couple of questions:
    1) how long do we do the G warm up for?  I've seen some posts where it's couple of 180 turns at 4G, or a sustained 4G for 20 seconds.

    2) how long does the warm up last, i.e. how long after the "warm up the training + dog fight" the warm up goes away?

It'd be great if you clarify the above, for all warbird lovers indeed. 🙂

    Probably.

In short, the Mossie acts the same in 2D as it is supposed to do only in VR? Agree?

yup, indeed. I think this discussion triggered in me a much older topic where people were calling for the true cockpit limits where you can't stick the head in either 2d or VR mode (I'm not a fan of this request if it's not done properly). Anyhoo, all good 🙂

No, when you use headtracking, you are not limited to snapviews (unless you mean the angle limits that can be set in the server.lua).

However in other modules there is a hard limit and you can’t stick your head through the canopy. In the Mossie that limit doesn’t exist and you can quickly find your head outside by accident.

it's the limits that are set on the snap view/pilot head axis and lean angles, not the 'cockpit'. In VR I can turn my head 1:1 backwards it'll remain inside the cockpit. If during that movement I also lean towards the cockpit canopy then my head start to stick outside of the cockpit. It's this "leaning" that takes you outside of the cockpit limits. That's what needs to be fixed.

In VR I can stick my head through the canopy of any module. There are no cockpit limits configured from that perspective.

in any case, it seems to me we're just arguing about the semantics here.

  6. hi, all,

wondering if anyone started to experience a stuck throttle in A8 mid flight. I.e. the throttle lever in the cockpit stops responding to the throttle position (Virpil throttle). The buttons on the throttle still work, the buttons on the base still work, and if I get in to Control Assignments I can see the throttle moves between min/max positions. However in cockpit it's stuck. Can't even move it with a mouse or any other keys...  This behavior started pre last update.

    ??

Its needs some love? yeah, one of the key element is that need to be fixed is the radio homing navigation that is broken for a looong time. And if you feel that the cockpit looks outdated is maybe because the AO pass in the cockpit is totally wrong. You can try my cockpit texture that, among other changes, its fixes the AO pass to look more realistic: Massun92´s FW190 A-8 Anton TEXTURE REWORK - SP AND MP (digitalcombatsimulator.com)

ah, finally a cockpit mod that passes the IC check for Anton! Thank you, sir! It looks very nicely done, kudos!

I haven't had it happen in the Anton, but I have had it happen in the Spit a long time ago.

One thing I noticed in the Anton is that the probe heat lamp on the left of the dash only ever illuminates when connected to ground power. I haven't tried an engine start with ground power on, but I wonder if that could activate the probe heat and serve as a workaround.

it's been fixed 4-5 months ago, now it illuminates without ground power, in flight, on battery, etc.

However, the pitot heating itself does not work in any ww2 model per my understanding.

I know there was a new option to save bomb selections added but thought there was still some confusion with the fusing?

Cheers for the reply though I wouldn’t wanna derail this thread too much for ya.

there's some quirkiness with the Mosquito fuses, specifically the operational side of the bomb panel (i.e. there are separate nose and tail fuse switches on it, and it seems that whichever you select it will arm both the nose and tail fuses on the bomb regardless of which switch you actually engaged) , maybe it's a bug or not fully developed. However, as far as the delayed fuses themselves, they've been implemented and working since 2022 I think, in all ww2 airframes.

Hello everyone, I have been away and want to get back flying props. I made a mission so I can practice rockets and bombs at a base. I set up some planes, flak and AAA to shoot defenses. I place them around base to what I think it is easy to see. I was wrong. I see tracers so I go in and have to guess where they might be and never really see them. It seems they are so small and blend in with the ground.

I have a 32 inch monitor with of 3440 x 1440 native resolution. Any suggestions to help my ground pounding. I would rather not use DOTS but I may have too. I fly P-51 and P-47. I fly mornings so I get those nice looking contrast  Spudknocker recommends. I don't think this issue is map specific, but I thought this was best place to post this.

DLAA and DLSS due to their upscaling nature screw up the target visibility at far/med distances. If you're using them try switching to MSAA instead.

Otherwise it's all a matter of getting used to the scaling used in DCS.

  11. Yeah, the new Dora D9 sounds are freaking awesome. It no longer sounds synthetic and changed to a smooth throaty mechanical action engine! Far Out!

Now, let's do the similar kind of sound update for ANTON!  It's a bit too buzzy right now and has very little bass.. 😞

Thanks. I’ll contact the seller before I buy.

it says "*New model with 4 digital rotary controls*"  i.e. it's not analog axis.

So as Bozon asked: Why is there a nose/tail fusing selector in the panel? Why does an unarmed fuse cause a detonation? Then an unarmed nose fuse wiithout a tail fuse should detonate too. Or does the nose/tail selector arms both fuses and is there just for eye candy?

Don't get me wrong: Maybe it worked that way for some strange reasons. But chances are it is just wrong.

those are all excellent questions for ED to answer.

hi, @NineLine, can you possibly clarify the above? Is this a bug (since the option to arm nose or tail is only present in Mosquito)  ?

I was testing fuse delays on 500 lb short tails and set the nose fuse to 11 and the tail fuse to 0 seconds. I though if I just arm the nose fuse in the cockpit the bomb would detonate 11 seconds after impact because of the delay of the nose fuse the tail fuse isn't armed. But it detonates instantly after impact. Is this correct or a bug? If I set both fuses to 11 seconds the delay works.

And was does "plugged" mean for a fuse? No fuse?

you're supposed to use only 1 fuse, either tail or the nose one. Not both. If you're using the nose one then set the tail one as 'plugged' and vice versa.
