Hi, does anyone know how to move the fa18 hud position down assuming it should be with a lua file? Just i have a home cockpit and in hud only view i need to move the hud down to line up with my real world hud.

i can confirm this works i export the UFC to my 24 inch monitor and just made it 100x100 and the winwing UFC works fine.

Hi Merkin, thanks for this much appreciated. I am trying to use the winwing UFC in HUD only view and have read somewhere if you export out the UFC even as a small 1 x 1 pixel the UFC should still work well i will try anyway.

thanks for sharing this, do you also know where i can get the lua file for exporting the UFC and RWR? Thanks to @Bunny Clark i have exported the IFEI i managed to export the left and right DDI and also the lower screen, but struggling on the UFC and RWR. I looked at captain zeen, but couldn't find the lua file needed as i am trying to export these without using helios.

Hey I had to change to flightpanels version soon as I changed it worked fine. Good thing is once you change to flightpanels you don’t need to redo any sketches on your arduino as I guess it is still using dcs-bios. Followed the info on GitHub installed a program called bort and all works fine

Hey, on mission 13 now and i don't get any targets showing up on GMT radar? i see the beam thru NVG line up with targets, but nothing shows up on the GMT radar? is it because they aren't moving? Any ideas? I am useless with mavericks with out using the radar or flir to lock targets.

Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on a 3D printer? Starting to build a sim pit and I am thinking I will need to invest in one, but will be my 1st one and thinking about a creality ender S1 pro will I able to get good quality prints with this printer? Or with cheaper printers is there more sanding required to get a nice finish? Sorry don’t have any experience with 3d printers. This printer is selling for $599 in Australia, not sure if there is something better in this price range? I came across this topic searching and I am building a fa18 pit so thinking this will be a good 1st project when I get my printer.

thank you @Android currently have the winwing FA18 stick and hotas, but i never use the SimApp Pro as so many people say it limits performance on there PC how do you find it? If you can let me know about the hud view it would be appreciated.

Hi Badger, 100% entered correctly just tried again using Multithread DCS version same issue, second time i tried to adjust the angle to 55 and velocity to 800ft/sec in tacview the second one said i destroyed the SA10 and in game on the right it came up grumble destroyed ( no auto dialogue) so i continued on i bombed the airfield, but noticed my wingman didn't bomb the airstrip so i quit the mission. in tacview bombs said destroyed SA10? When you said you have given a larger tolerance for bombs is this for a future update? As i am currently on the latest one. Hey, also having issue hitting S10 in this mission tried multiple times and always only one bomb hits on target, double checked the coordinates waited a few seconds once the in range comes up and waited between drops. I ended up finishing the S10 on my way to the airfield waypoint 12 with guns, bombed the airfield, but wingman didn't bomb the runway assuming as i hit the s10 with guns?? after bombing got the auto dialogue headed to way point 13 @ 30,000 other group took out migs and i ended up at waypoint 14 got some more dialogue with wingman and then headed to waypoint zero realised nothing was happening so i quit. Here is the tacview if that helps. Also, on open beta no mods and latest update waited to post until i had tried in new update. Just thought i would let you know i finally completed this mission i didn't give up as i couldn't let it beat me ( finished it a while ago), since then it has been a awesome campaign i am up to mission 9 part 2 now and really enjoying it i am finding i am getting a lot better with the hornet.

Thanks @Rinze have already used that video and most of my setup of the radar is based on this. All good, will move on with Campaign and i normally like to do badgers campaigns a few times so hopefully second time round i will be more successful.

Thank you Badger633 appreciate you looking into it i checked out your Tacview. It is most likely me i have always struggled with the hornet radar and AA combat. I am on open beta latest update and no mods, i know when i first started this mission i had a issue switching between targets in TWS which i was told you have to double press nose wheel steering it still doesnt seem to work that well for me i seem to keep locking onto the same target it doesnt seem to switch how it should again probably me! Anyway i tried again tonight twice as i was determined to not let it beat me and i got shot down twice so it has beaten me i have now skipped it as i am going insane. Thanks Again keep up the good work.

thanks for the feedback what you mentioned is exactly how i do it. I can take out the 1st two with the 120's i fire two 120's once the 120's go pitbull i go defensive and manage to get the 3rd with the sidewinder, but the 4th he just gets on my tail and i cant get him off i find this a lot in DCS it is probably just me i have never been that good at AA combat. Is your wingman supposed to attack at all? As when i view tacview as i mentioned the 4th just sticks to me like glue where ever i turn he turns it's like he knows what i am going to do! and my wingman just seems to follow and never takes a shot. This is where my hate for DCS comes in and i know it is a hot topic and not your issue or fault, but if we could somehow save just before an engagement like this it would make the learning a whole lot faster. i don't get a lot of time maybe one go a night if i am lucky and this mission isnt 2 bad as you get to this point relatively quickly, but i find it starts to get repetitive and frustrating and once you pass if you do i forget how to do the other things as it might have been weeks not doing a certain task, like mavericks, GPS bombs or case 3 landings etc. Anyway i might skip this one and move on and come back later. on another note i have played all your campaigns and i find by far yours have been my favourite. Hi, any advice on how to beat the 4 f5's i have tried over 10 times and about to skip as i can get 3 of the F5's but i cant get the 4th it is driving me crazy! No matter what i do the last one is always on my tail i can never shake him.

Thanks All for the feedback. @bonesvf103 definitely not a data link contact as showing up as brick, but it is 4 targets and i have to take out 2 on the right and yes super close to the L&S target will try the EXP to see if that helps. I am thinking that @MarkyMark might be onto something as i did recently change my DCS to open beta away from the stable version as i wanted to try multithreading so i am now on the latest version so didn't think about that will also try the 2 depresses to see if that helps, but i did think i was smashing the joystick trying to get it to work! Will try tomorrow night and update the outcome.

Hi, i will admit i have never been that good at AA combat, but i am having trouble switching targets using the Amraam. I have watched you tube videos like how to use the FA18 radar like a boss, but when in AA mode i set the amraam at 40NM, 4B scan and 40-60 deg scan range and above 20NM hi perf i am in tws mode and currently on mission 3 rise of the persion lion 2 and i have to take out 2 F5's. I get to the F5's altitude i dont head straight on and when they are around 20nm i turn into the targets move the scan over the targets using TDC depress and then nose wheel/undesiganate button and i get a lock on a target i try and put the TDC over the other targets which are showing up and try and get a lock pushing TDC so i can switch between, but i cant seem to switch so i end up firing a amraam and i just cant seem to change to the other target just stays on the one target any ideas or guidence as to what i am doing wrong?

Thanks @rob10 i didnt have it set didnt know i had to, but once i set a min altitude and push to test all good . Also @ChillNG my bad on the data link i did have it turned on, but i hadn't changed to the SA page after the intial setup so all working now. Also loving the campaign up to mission 6 and it's awesome good work! Problem with this game i find there is so much to learn if you dont use something for awhile you totally forget how to do it! It's great that the forum is so helpful.

I also had issue's with the original DCS bios worked at the start, but just stopped working. I was told to use flight panels version the guide above is the flight panels version dont bother with the original hub version as it isnt updated follow the video above and you should be good to go. Since i have moved i now have no issues. If you goto https://github.com/DCSFlightpanels there is also a quick setup PDF guide also dont install the google chrome plugin as it doesnt work anymore you have to use the bort plug in https://github.com/charliefoxtwo/Bort/releases/tag/v0.2.0 took me awhile to understand also, but you will eventually get there, just dont give up.

Yes I am pushing DL button twice before turning on, but I will play around with it and see if I can work it out. the rad alt is weird I will try on another map or mission and if still not working I’ll post on the fa18 section on the forum to see if anyone has any ideas.

No worries thanks for replying. Couple of other things 1st might be a stupid question, but is it normal for not showing your location on F10 map if I bring it up I or no planes show up? Assuming they don’t is this wouldn’t be realistic can I turn it on if I want? 2nd in mission 6 not saying a issue with the campaign, but when I descend to 150agl I switch to radar altimeter, but I know I am close to the ground,but my reading is about 1500-1800? 3rd also in mission 6 can’t remember in previous, but no aircraft show up on the SA page on mfd? I watched your play thru as I couldn’t find the target north of waypoint 8 and it says to follow e-boy on yours you could see e-boy, but I have nothing showing up? I have data link turned on. I did a search and found a issue of data link not working if tacan is turn off, but haven’t tried this yet just curious if anyone else had this issue. besides these issues I am loving this campaign especially since there isn’t any air to air refueling as I haven’t 100% mastered this yet!
