  1. I think you missunderstood me. I just said it's an interesting problem to solve, how to go up against other planes right now. Requires new tactics, which I find fun. I do agree with you, comparative performance is not a measure by which anything should be designed or tweaked, but as a player, developing strategies is something I enjoy.
  2. Can we take a second to appreciate how much effort is being put into this. I mean yeah, my initial reaction to hearing 'phoenix got nerfed' was 'oh no!' but at the same time, you just got to take a step back and realize what heatblur is trying to do here. Give it some time. This isn't the first, or last time DCS yeets something. My only real issue is I'm trying to play in an environment where there's multiple types of planes, and the rules of the game change in ways that make working together hard. Remember when the hornet got its radar range reduced but the f16 could still spot things out to 90nm? You just have to learn to roll with the punches, trusting that people are working behind the scenes to make this game better. Right now I'm super curious to see what the end result will be. Will the phoenix end up being more or less an amraam? How will I fight more modern jets with it if that's the case. Is the SD10 ever going to get changed or will it slowly become the best missile in the game simply because its not being remodeled? Maybe it's realistic as it is? Will everyone soon be flying eurofighters because 'best bvr missile' or will the f15-16 amraam become the king of bvr with the new changes? Who knows! One thing for sure is there's a long road ahead before DCS becomes stable and ED/Heatblur/any other dev is satisfied with the simulation level detail of things. And that's exciting!
  3. It's not. Now I'm one of the people that low-key enjoyed "rising squall", mainly because they managed to do what no other mission maker has in DCS: Add checkpoints and make the campaign feel like an actual game. That said, the dialogue was -beyond- cringe even for an avid anime watcher... No. Fear the bones is 100% pure tomcattery, or at least how I imagine it would be. A lot of attention has been paid to capture the 'top gun movie spirit' so sometimes it might feel forced, but i mean, come on. It's top gun. You cannot go wrong with top gun references while flying the damn f14 Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this campaign, and can see myself repeating several of its missions in the future. The only downsides to it is really DCS itself, and its limitations, which we all more or less have learned to live with or work around by now. The only downside I found in the campaign itself is, it ends, and I'm left wanting more! I immediately bought 'zone 5' and cannot wait to throw more money at Reflected the second they make another f14 campaign~
  4. It's the first time it's happened to me, but I'm pretty notoriously unlucky. Put him on trail and had no issues. AI wingmen are always kind of a liability anyway. It was extra suspicious that he slammed into me seconds after saying that line about how 'nice and quiet' it is out here Yeah, autopilot straight and level flight, just chilling to music and looking at radar when suddenly GAME OVER and jingle made me jump outa my chair lol. I do have a tacview but I doubt it's anything that can't be displayed from this couple of screenshots: Uh huh, I'll remember that, next time I fly off your wing :3
  5. First of all, awesome campaign. Simply the best. Just ran into this hitch where my wingman decided to fly into me on this 2 hour long mission. I have a full tacview but i'd rather avoid spoling people. Not sure if anything can be done to fix this from a designer standpoint, but I guess i'll try to have him fly trail next time.
  6. I have this same bug. Happens only on certain servers, and happens regularly on those same servers. Essentially every few times I get shot down and respawn in the B tomcat there is a chance it will happen. Not sure if relevant, but it happens often on a server running foothold.
  7. That doesn't happen in single player when there's only one probe down
  8. For some reason my refuel probe was going through the basket in this mission. Not sure what went wrong. Did the coms at the very last second, got cleared contact, basket came down but my probe was just clipping through it. I'm pretty confident in AAR to know this wasn't a skill issue. I aborted refuel and redid the comms, basket despawned and came back down, still nothing. Still had fuel though (fought the su with no burner) so i just went in to land. Got a mission complete but no comms since im sure the script is waiting for 'you are taking fuel' to keep running. Feels kinda bad but its DCS, I still had massive fun with this mission. Baltic, if you're reading this holy hell this campaign is the best buy in all of DCS! One other minor thing, i was trying to form up on red prince when he declared joker and said climb to 28, but he was flying in a random direction and staying low. I eventually broke off, turned towards the carrier and climbed to 25, which is when he came back on comms and said something about turning it east (i think?) and re-appeared on datalink as green. I wanna retry this mission and make that unwelcome guest eat the ground, but something tells me that's gonna break the mission. Still, gonna feel pretty good :3
  9. Hey! First of all, awesome campaign. Hands down, best flight sim experience i've ever had so this is in no way any sort of criticism or rant but: So i botched the AAR refuel and did what the menu told me, quit and restarted to start after AAR. Apparently now I'm in mission 4. Any way I can go back to mission 3 without restarting the campaign? I don't mind flying it all over again, just sad I skipped it
  10. just gonna add my +1. At this point I feel like the hornet is purposefully abandoned in a 'broken' state, with no word as to what is possibly going to be done about it I don't mean to sound critical or angry about it, I'd just like to know if there's something to look forward to, or if I should switch modules for a while until something changes.
