  1. I'd love one but it's a bit too risky for me to spend so much without knowing if it was as good as Sweviver reports. I wonder if you turned up at Xtal in Prague, after making an appointment, would they let you give it a go so you could literally 'see' for yourself. I bought a Pimax 5K after watching all the really positive reviews about the wide FOV etc but I've gone back now to the Vive Pro with the lens mod as, in my opinion, the Image quality, clarity and FPS are much better. When I first got the Pimax I thought it was brilliant and I overlooked/ignored all the issues. 3 months later and its back in its box as I was spending more time fiddling about with settings than flying. I have to say though, the Xtal looks good and I'm looking forward to unbiased, honest reviews.
  2. Hi everyone, I watched SweViver's video on the XTal Vr and noticed that they are using Playseat Air Force seats but modified with a cross member so that the TM Warthog joystick can be centre mounted between the legs. It looks like a neat job, has anyone done anything similar with the Playseat or know if this mod is commercially available? I've searched Google but didn't find anything. I've currently got a Secretlabs Titan with Monstertech brackets for side mounted Hotas but I would like the centre mounted joystick as I 'think' it might be more natural and comfortable for extended use. The distance from the backrest of the Titan to the front of the seat is 52 cm so if I centre mount the joystick there, I have to lean forward a bit to hold the stick which is uncomfortable. Anyone with a Playseat Airforce tell me the distance from the back rest to the front of the seat? I've been holding off playing DCS for a couple of weeks now waiting for the supposed performance improvements in VR so I'm experimenting a bit with the sim cockpit, trying to get it really good for VR.
  3. Thanks for the update, downloaded to-day 31/3 and all is working again
  4. I'm having the same problem. Everything was working until the update. Vaicom recognises the Hornet / A10C etc modules ok in the PTT screen when I'm flying them however it isn't recognising any of the Flaming Cliffs aircraft like the F15C. It recognises the commands ok but doesn't send them to DCS. My Hornet, A10C, AV8B etc all work great, they show up in the PTT screen, it's just the Flaming Cliffs aircraft which don't. I've tried all the fixes and watched the youtube videos and even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling everything but no good. I fly the F15C a lot because it's simple, like me! and it was working up until a couple of days ago. The other thing I noticed which happened about the same time and has already been mentioned is the in-game comms menu screen popping up every few seconds. I resolved this by just restarting Voice Attack.
  5. I'm sure they're honest and doing their best, I just have to wait my turn :)
  6. I ordered mine first week January (P122XXX) and was also led to believe shipment would be late February 2019. I note that they charged my Credit Card immediately and since then they keep sending me emails in very poor English asking me to confirm my address which I have done on the official site. My order page shows the correct billing and shipping address but they keep asking for them, very confusing and worrying. At least there should be some protection through my Credit Card if it all goes wrong, I hope!
  7. I'm seeing this too but at least there are regular updates and a workaround in the meantime.
  8. Hello, I normally don't have any issues running DCS - until now. In VR mode, the actual menu is clear however the background hanger scene goes completely green or white. When entering the cockpit in any aircraft the VR view is completely white except for the labels and radio menu. I found that this effect only occurs when I have the pixel density in VR Settings within DCS set to anything other than 1.0. I did have it at 1.3 which gave me a much clearer image and it worked perfectly until todays update. Does anyone else using VR find this with the latest build? The VR headset is a Vive Pro so I'm using SteamVR. the system is an 8700k, 32Gb Ram and 2080ti FE on Win10. I deleted the 'DCS.openbeta' folder on my 'C' drive and let DCS build a new one but as soon as I change pixel density it all goes wrong again.
  9. Yes, it's bound to give a boost but by how much? I couldn't find any flight sim type benchmarks, nearly all first person shooters. I wouldn't buy one because of the cost but it would be interesting to see what sort of performance unlimited funds could buy. If someone on these forums had a Titan V they might be able to say it made hardly any difference or it doubled the FPS who knows? Anyway, the thread about using a second PC as a server to boost performance looks interesting.
  10. Not that I could justify buying one, but to put my mind at rest, would a Titan V give a massive boost to fps in VR against a Titan Xp or a 1080ti? I have a de-lidded 8700k overclocked to 5Ghz and a Titan Xp. Whilst running the sim in single player the CPU doesn't seem to be stressed too much going by the temperature and activity however the graphics card is 100% and getting hot. This makes me think that the graphics card is the bottleneck. I couldn't find any flight sim benchmarks for the Titan V probably because its not designed for gaming and it's so expensive but it would be nice to know what it could do.
  11. Thanks.
  12. Hello, I've just changed from a Rift to a Vive Pro. With the Oculus Touch controllers I could press buttons etc in the cockpit however the Vive controllers don't work and there's just an inanimate glove. I assume the Vive controllers aren't supported yet. I done a complete re-install of DCS just to be sure but same result. I've googled it but can't find an answer, anyone here know? Thanks.
  13. You all think you've got problems. Well, I took my Rolls Royce into my local dealer, Delusive Car Sales, (DCS) to have a few little problems fixed. That was just after Christmas and they told me I should have it back, all being well, early in the new Year. Well, I'm still waiting. At first I didn't mind so much because I've still got the Merc, and the Director, a great guy named Matt was keeping me updated. Things have changed a bit now and I'm getting a bit worried. Matt hasn't been in touch and I'm afraid to phone in case I get banned from the showroom. All I can do is live in hope that whatever they're doing will be absolutely brilliant when I get the car back and pray that they haven't actually taken it out for a drive and wrecked it. Anyway, back to the Mercedes which is really quite good anyway. I guess I'm just spoiled.
