  1. Thanks for sharing. Definitely a good watch!
  2. Great, thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a method that allows users to be assigned points for successful pick ups and drop-offs.
  3. Just a quick update, I was looking at my screenshots and there was a message originally broadcasted that Infantry Group # 3 was located at ADF 510. I didn't see that at first. But when I requested an updated list of who needed reinforcements, I was give an ADF of 490.
  4. Wolle, First of all, I want to thank you for posting this mission. I flew it in the SP role tonight and have some feedback/questions that hopefully you can address: 1. My initial task was to reinforce an infantry group at 490 on the ADF. I loaded reinforcements, dialed in the frequency, and located the group and successfully reinforced them (red smoke was popped at their location too). While en route, 3 allied pilots were shot down and I noted their individual ADF frequencie. 2. I flew to the first downed pilot and did not see any red smoke at the location. I was able to eventually land in a clearing using the strong tone on the ADF radio and I received the message from the pilot and he loaded up fine. 3. I flew to another downed pilot and red smoke was popped and he was visible in a clearing and he too was picked up without incident. Both pilots were returned to Kolki and the message appeared that they were unloaded. I repaired and requested which units needed reinforcements. 4. I was directed again to 490 on the ADF to Infantry Group # 3 for reinforcement deployment. I loaded up the resources and dialed in 490 on the ADF. 5. While en route, I noted I was heading to the same group that made the initial request for reinforcements. I thought perhaps they had taken some casualties and needed more men. I followed the needle on the ADF, received the tone on the ADF, and landed. Unfortunately, I was not directed to Infantry Group # 3. Group # 3 was on a different part of the map. I'm assuming perhaps a new ADF frequency was not updated for the second group that requested reinforcements? Anyway, I really enjoyed flying the mission for about an hour. I am curious though, and I don't expect any spoilers. Does the mission end when the ground forces meet certain objectives? I noticed the enemy aircraft were all shot down and the allied planes were flying a CAP. Or, do more enemy aircraft spawn in? I am looking forward to flying this mission in a multiplayer environment. Thanks again.
  5. Tonight, three of us were flying the Airmobile1 mission and two clients (myself included) experienced a CTD while trying to fire a single salvo of rockets. I also experienced a CTD after taking ground fire. My "Fire" light activated in the cockpit and the game froze followed by a CTD. I don't have any mods installed and my crash logs are available if needed.
  6. I'm not at my computer at the moment but the town that is held by insurgents has red smoke. You need to drop the troops within "x" amount of meters of the red smoke. The distance in meters is listed in the briefing. Hope that helps.
  7. Can you expand on this? I'm interested to hear about what it involves. Thanks.
  8. I too am glad to call you my personal friend BBall. That was a great read and it would have been a pleasure to know your father. However, I will continue to enjoy the many stories you have about him and his time as a helicopter pilot. He was a wonderful influence to be sure and I'm sure we all look forward to hearing more stories about your Dad. Griff, aka the "Huey Noob!"
  9. It is a known problem. Hopefully they will address it soon.
  10. Yes, but if I understand correctly, you have to have an object to "hook" on the TAD. For example, if the ground based FAC sends you a target via the network to your TAD, you will see a flashing red triangle marking the target. You then move the TAD cursor to the triangle, TMS forward short to hook it, then TMS forward long to create the SPI (you should then see your wedding cake symbol or SPI at that point). Then, make your TGP the SOI and slave your TGP to your newly created SPI (china hat forward long). Hope this helps.
  11. Well, glad to hear you aren't having problems. I know they worked hard to increase M.P. stability but we aren't seeing it.
  12. We're not impressed. Flying in a LAN with 1.2.3 and constant server crashes. One of our members is a beta tester so he will be posting crash logs to the appropriate people. Hopefully they can narrow down the problems.
  13. Kudos Joyride. That was an outstanding mission! A buddy of mine and I flew it tonight using DCS World 1.2.2 and it went off without a hitch. The voice overs and interaction with the ground troops was great. We especially liked the small arms fire in the background. It will be interesting to see how we do with 4 A-10's flying in that valley with the low cloud base.
  14. A friend of mine finished some further testing and it appears the reliability of lasing a target depends on the type of unit set as the FAC. If the FAC unit is infantry, it works perfectly. If you use a predator or Bradley, it doesn't work as advertised. The targets were the same and the advanced waypoint options were set properly.
  15. Quirk! I really appreciate you posting that mission for me to use for practice. It worked like a charm and after reviewing the advanced waypoint actions, I was obviously not setting up the FAC properly. Again, thanks for the lesson.
  16. I am trying to design a mission where either a ground based FAC or airborne FAC will laser a specific target. I have tried both with no luck. Under the advanced waypoint actions, I chose "perform task" and chose "FAC-assign group." I realize a static object is not a group but when I clicked on the static object icon, it added the object number in parenthesis, i.e. new static object #001. Then, I chose "guided weapon" followed by "laser" in designation. Upon flying to the target area and using my TGP with "LSS" enabled, I was unable to locate a laser. The TGP continued to search with no luck. I also "checked in" with the FAC before reaching the target area and the FAC would not list the one object that I had it assigned to. It kept listing higher threat targets, i.e. AAA, near the target. Does the FAC require higher threat targets be destroyed prior to tasking the non-lethal object? Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.
  17. From what I understand, he is asking if the JTAC observes an enemy unit, how does the JTAC notify the A-10 pilot. Well, with my limited knowledge, I think the mission designer has to set up the JTAC to make notifications on specific targets or perhaps zones. And, to communicate with the JTAC, the pilot needs to establish contact with the JTAC. If there is an assigned JTAC and you are flying in the target area, the default JTAC doesn't randomly contact you, the pilot. Having said that, the default "Smerch Hunt" mission uses default ground based JTAC units where the pilot is to contact the JTAC on a set frequency. But, it also has an audible JTAC programmed to simulate a JTAC notifying the pilot of a target. This is done in a different way by the mission designer. Hope this helps but in a nut shell, you fly to the station area, contact the JTAC on the set frequency, and they will provide 9-line information. It then becomes the pilot's responsibility to understand how to interpret datalink messages sent through the TAD or how to input coordinates into the CDU to create a new waypoint.
  18. I know it has been said before but practice, practice, practice. My MP mate makes it a point to involve refueling in each of the missions he creates. Not always necessary but we make it a point to hit the tanker just for fun and for extra practice. It is such a rewarding feeling to be able to top off on the boom. One thing that helps is to pay attention to the colored lines on the boom and to work the throttles. It is easy to speed up/slow down on the boom so make sure you are easy on the throttles and adjust them as necessary. Good luck!
  19. It appears the instructor voice is also missing in the training missions so perhaps they are related. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91180
  20. Ha ha....very funny. Glad to hear you are having a good time :-) I too noticed a smooth experience and the install process was hassle free.
  21. He has been taken care of. Damn rookies!
