  1. Oh wow that's a lot :-( In fact all the modules I don't own are in that list. Thanks for the help some1, I'll forget about new modules and maybe look into the DLC Red Flag campaigns at some point. @SUI - coder: Yep the Mirage is new enough (and modern enough) to expect a campaign fairly quickly. I'll probably get the Mirage when it's in a 'complete' state. The L-39 I am guessing could get a campaign that can be played as one or two-player since it's ED's testbed(?), but the others have been released (it's not really a beta if it's been on sale for one-to-two years) for a while so I don't really expect a campaign to appear for those. A shame as I was hoping for some kind of trainee-pilot campaign for the hawk.
  2. Downloading it now and I'll give it a try: Currently downloading at 8-10MB/s. Nice!
  3. Considering getting a module or two during the sale. Possibly the Hawk since I've been waiting for the EFM to drop and it seems imminent :-) I'll only buy a module if it has a campaign though: Which modules don't beyond the F-86F and Mig-15bis?
  4. Unsure of my desktop spec, but I've benchmarked it vs my laptop and the laptop gets about the same score assuming DCS World is in directx11 (in directx9 the desktop is better). I'd probably use the laptop as it's my go-to computer. Just didn't want to confuse the thread with "laptops are no good for gaming" comments. This one's not as good as a new desktop, but it's ok :-) Laptop spec: i7 4700HQ cpu (overclocks to 3.4Ghz) 16GB RAM GTX 850M 2GB graphics card
  5. Hi, I haven't played DCS since before 1.5 was released. My plan was to wait until the virtual reality headsets get released and then almost certainly buy one of those, a new PC and then have some very immersive fun! As I have the Nevada map anyway though (A-10C pre-purchaser) I thought I might give it a go now. How is the performance & features of the new map/version? My gaming PC is 3.5 years old. Also, do any modules have any missions or content to play on the new map beyond quickplay missions? I may get the A-10C campaign for it but again am tempted to wait until I can play it in glorious virtual reality :-)
  6. Hi DavidRed, Good timing! No plagiarism intended - I hadn't spotted that. I was on the DoW server yesterday but the mission was Loose Lips. I'll look forward to giving it a try tonight if I see it. Is this one of ~8 mission rotations? I was thinking of a server that always had the same air-quake mission. I should also have stated the server would be located in England.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if there would be interest in a new WW2 server offfering low-altitude point-blank dogfighting, similar to the Lake map in Rise of Flight? The intention would be to have opposing airfields very close together so you can just jump in for a 15min dogfight if you wish. If there is sufficient interest I have a remotely hosted server not doing anything at the moment... So, has this been tried/does it already exist?
  8. I admit my SA is rubbish and I always lose track if I don't have labels on - are there any popular WW2 dogfighting servers that allow labels?
  9. Well, the steam sale was good timing; I've picked up the complete set :-) Lots of learning to do now, but they look good so far
  10. Great, I'll get FC3 then. Thanks for the clarification AceRevo!
  11. Can someone please provide a link to wherever it says which modules purchased on Steam will work in the non-Steam version? I have read the last ten pages of the Steam FAQ thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113587 And looked through the last ten pages of this forum, but can't see this anywhere. The only information I can find is that ALL modules bought on Steam will work in the non-Steam version EDIT: The above date conforms with the last merger of ED-purchased keys to Steam, so I'm assuming you are talking about non-Steam keys working on Steam rather than vice-versa?
  12. I want to buy in the Steam sale and use in the non-Steam version, by the way... Is it better to buy each of the FC3 planes seperately for DCS World or just buy FC3 (i.e. does FC3 include all the planes for use inside DCS World)?
  13. Can anyone comment on whether this is true; can only some modules be bought on Steam and activated in the non-Steam version?
  14. I've seen several posts about the performance of a AI FW190 not being affected by damage until it's destroyed. Is this still true and if so does this apply to all AI aircraft (including flyable aircraft such as another P-51D)?
  15. I got it working - it seemed that it needed the Crazy Horse folder in the Campaigns directory, whereas I was putting the files only in.
  16. Thanks for the advice guys. It sounds like the betas are better than the A-10C, but that it's best to wait until a beta gets a patch or two (so basically wait for a sale!). I picked up the P-51D to tide me over - I think just learning aerial gunnery will take me a while based on my current performance!
  17. I placed the files (not the folder) in that directory
  18. I've downloaded the Crazy Horse campaign for UH-1H, then placed the files in the C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Missions\EN\Campaigns folder. The missions are available as single missions if I navigate to that folder, but the campaign does not appear on the Campaigns screen. Have I done something wrong?
  19. Hi, I have the A-10C, Ka-50 and Uh-1H modules. I'm interested in getting more but was disappointed in the A-10 beta; I found it un-optimised and buggy until the release version was out. The talk now though seems to be about when each module's beta is released rather than the 'release' version so I wonder if it's different now? Everyone seems to like the Mig21: Is it fully functional, feature-complete with missions, campaign and documentation? What about the other betas? Thanks, James
  20. Solved! The GRP ID was 10; changed that to 01 and it worked; thanks for the help BlackRazor!
  21. Hi, On the night mission of the Georgian Hammer campaign, both of the JTACs say they are sending me data but no option to "wilco" it comes up on the TAD. This mission has the plane prestarted so it shouldn't be a problem with my start-up routine. Any ideas? Thanks, James
  22. Hi, A few times I've been in the middle of missions and noticed that where it normally displays the airspeed on the HUD, it's showing something else. It's a 2-3 digit number that seems to vary based on altitude (with, I think, a value of 50 when I'm sat on the ground) and below it is displayed "RO". Any ideas what I've done? Cheers, James
