The last patch downloaded at an average of about 400KB/s, but it did go down as low as 22KB/s. This is on torrents. My ISP doesn't throttle traffic

Just checking: I only have 3 activations of the red flag campaigns left: If I run out do I just ask support for more, or do I need to be very careful with those last 3?

Those cockpit dials look bloody amazing :-) It's really immersive!

Fixed it: Deleting the combined arms module resolved this. so I put it back and updated it, and it's fine now.

Agreed. Downloaded on my work's gigabit connection at 300KB/s. Download speed it pretty important when you're downloading tens of GB becuase otherwise you have to leave your computer on all night. Not that 2.1 works for me now anyway; after all the hassle of updating it's now completely broken and the slow download prevents me from retrying it from scratch :-(

The symptoms are identical to the other thread called "2.1 dead in the water", but the solution for that OP hasn't worked so I thought it best to create a new thread. Symptoms: Cannot open map editor. Screen flickers and remains on main menu. Cannot fly. It says "DCS not responding" after 30 seconds loading. I cannot try Nevada to see if that works. I've tried updating my Nvidia drivers but that hasn't made a difference. Logs.rar

EDIT: I'll create a new bug thread as OP's problem is now solved, so probably not the same cause.

Crashes on loading any quick mission for me as well. Logs attached. Map Editor won't open either. I can't test if Nevada is working. Logs.rar

Yep, and reran the updater to check. The modules do say 2.1 in the main menu so I'm sure I'm on the right version. Have you downloaded it then?

Has anyone downloaded the Normandy map? I can't find it in module manager I can't find it in the module manager or in the row of modules on the bottom of the main menu. I see some people are getting errors refreshing the module manager but I'm not by the way. So just wondering if anyone has downloaded it and if so was it under Maps? Did you also have to download a seperate module for the assests and if so where was that? Thanks :-)

In VR, with jets I can get 90fps, but am only getting half that in any of the helicopters and prop aircraft. I am using minimum graphics settings with a pixel density of 1.0. This is in DCS 1.5 and 2.0, but mostly I've been using 1.5. My hardware is an i5-2500k @ 4.4Ghz, 1080 GTX and 16GB ram. I'm happy with 45fps, but the prop aircraft gunsights go all squiggly using ASW, so I'm forced to turn it off and then the framerate isn't good enough for me. Is there anything I can do to increase the fps for these aircraft? Is anyone able to get 90fps on these?

The Spitfire's gunsight goes all wibbly when I have ASW enabled. I understand this is because the propellor causes a light-dark-light flicker behind it and confuses the ASW. Unfortunately I think I'm also getting pretty low fps in this module (using pixel density of 1.0 and 'VR' graphics settings) so I'd really like to have ASW on. Does anyone have any suggestions besides just turning all graphics settings to min, or can a dev say if this a known issue to be looked into or will be left as-is?

Should I turn off supersampling to make it easier to spot planes and read labels? What about something like the WW2 servers where they use labels to increase spotting range? Cheers

I know this was first shown July last year but I can't find any kind of recent timescale for it's release. Can anyone say if it's intended to release with the Normandy early access, or summer, or this year etc? Thanks :-) REALLY looking forward to it.

I've looked several pages back but can't find anything about the campaign. Only thing I can find is thatthere will be a campaign on final release. Has anything been stated regarding it's eta, content or which map it will be on (please say Normandy)?

I am getting the same thing: Was thinking it must be all-of-DCS but actually it may just be the Spitfire as the M-2000C is OK. I am using a VR Rift, cpu is i5-2500k at 4.2Ghz, gpu is 1080 GTX, 16GB ram.

I enjoy flying the simpler aircraft in DCS: WW2 and especially the F-86 and helicopters, yet I actually prefer the idea of flying the most modern planes. When I try them though (e.g. I did the M-2000C tutorials and started the campaign in the last few days) I find such a learning curve to use their avionics that it feels more like doing an exam than flying a plane! This is probably just due to having a family so I play late at night when I'm short on time and tired. I am thinking about playing through the M-2000C campaign though and it got me wondering: What aspect of flying the modern jets gives players the most fun compared to older aircraft? Assuming it's the combat, what do you prefer about the modern armament/systems and style of combat? Cheers Edit: I should point out that I'm not a complete stranger to in-depth avionics as I completed all of the black shark and A-10C campaigns years ago. It's just that can't remember how to use them now :-)

On the front of the real throttle, there's a rocker to switch between the Magic missiles and the cannon. I assume the 'Magic Select' handles one side of this rocker but I can't find the binding to select the cannon... Does anyone know where this is or how I switch between the two ingame?

For me it's defintely not an intended effect: Just a bump in the air or being harsh with the controls for an instant will cause this. I'll see if I can narrow it down. Edit: Also sight never returns. I think DCS might be crashing after some time as well as I never hear a crash or get returned to the menu.

This is exactly what I was doing last night. Was using VR but could hear my wife laughing at my landings: They looked good until I hit the ground and just bounced right back up!

Although the mission profile would be very bland, I imagine this module would absolutely fly off the shelf: No-one has made a stealth aircraft simulator in many years so I expect many people (including myself) would buy this for the unique experience. Actually, I wonder if the mission profile would be somewhat similar to civilian flight sims? Just a thought...
