  1. Thank you for this. The friendly folks at Microsoft are reverse engineering SVR to see what is happening behind the scenes We might be really close to a solution here!
  2. New Change 26/3 OpenXR Toolkit now supports DCS without the hack!
  3. Miiiiiiiiike!!!! Sooooo good to have you mate! I have been waiting for your detailed analysis and thought you may have had a bad experience but didn't want to rain on the parade so to speak I think it's called the 'Soap Opera' effect? The future is bright for this, we've only had DCS support for a week
  4. So, this is why I have included the blurb about performance and why number chases will be disappointed Here is a graph I have shamelessly stolen from @mimikiwi - note how the average frame-rate is not much different. 2FPS. Why bother? But this doesnt tell the full story. OpenXR would be miles beyond what SteamVR can provide I have said it before and will say it again, once you hit 30-40FPS forget about the numbers and work on getting a good experience. This experience should be consistent (fluid, smooth) Mate, if you think this a placebo after reading 12 pages worth of posts and reddit comments - be my guest. Because nothing what I will write will be able to convince you otherwise. I wanted to make clear that I wouldn't have sacrificed tens of hours of my life creating, updating this thread over a placebo. Let me also be clear, this thread exists because performance increases have come on the community's head and I am for one am grateful that Jabbah and mbucchia have gone so far out of their way to help Whilst I speak for myself, I doubt that I am alone in expressing this opinion
  5. The issue was solved. @Sr. said he will post the solution for those who need it Also, the file to get the OpenXR Toolkit menu back is still required even after 0.6.1
  6. I’ll PM you the chat we are using to communicate with the OpenXR toolkit devs
  7. The registry is not deleted when you uninstall the toolkit. I suspect you have some weird ass settings in there. So remove the app. Go into the registry CTRL+F OpenXR Toolkit and delete all OpenXR Toolkit entries then install! Alternatively (and what I actually recommend doing) is getting an application Called Revo Uninstaller and using that to uninstall the app completely (it searches for extra files and registry upon classic uninstallation)
  8. You're a brave man! That map is banned in Australia in fear it will cause a bush-fire that will wipe out half the population of SE QLD
  9. For those who are experiencing stutters I might have had a breakthrough, but I don't know. I tried reprojection on 'Always On' and got terrible artifacting and jelly that everyone talks about. However, in Automatic I got an interesting result which gave me the 90/45/30FPS without the jelly - worth a try? It's difficult to diagnose since I don't suffer from this (nor do I want to induce this in fear I can not get back) but this might help. Here is the screenshot
  10. Updated to 0.6.1 Removed a lot of now redundant text and instructions which no longer apply due to rapid development of the mod. Condensed the text and removed double-ups Added instructions for WMR Portal quality settings. These prevented some from launching DCS. I believe this is also might be the reason why some people are not seeing the visual improvements whilst others are Removed additional steps for the mask that now is autogenerated. Edited the opencomposite.ini file and uploaded the new one with mouse fixes Removed steps associated with OpenXR Toolkit and is now recommended as part of the instal
  11. Haaaave you followed the guide and replaced the files inside Program Files/OpenXR Toolkit
  12. Here is the screenshot of the chat with developer. I am going to leave it at that and say I had the game running at 70-90FPS in steam VR and it was not nearly as smooth as OpenXR is at 45. If you want, you can believe me, if you want you can go your own way
  13. If you lock then you should get 45FPS (or less) If you want to learn more here is a guy who explains it in MSFS Forums well worth the read https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/vr-reverb-g2-wmr-performance-motion-reprojection-cpu-issues-overclocking/497696/4?u=notsofearless Here is an other about OpenXR Framerstes if you don’t lock you will get all factors of 90FPS if your performance fluctuates that much I do not have it enabled. My theory is that in addition, those turbo boosting intel processors that go to a billion GHz for a few seconds heat up to the temperatures of the core of the sun and then come down again to only do the same again might have something to do with this especially if you’re like me and are CPU limited most of the time
  14. Deleted - see next reply with Jabbah’s messages and make your own conclusions in regards to 90/45/30FPS I’m not experiencing this issue thus can not help
  15. You guys have read and understand that you can simply lock 45FPS via OpenXR Toolkit and it will have the motion smoothening disabled but the frame rate cap enabled so you’re not experiencing the spikes…?! With that feature off there is still no way of getting 60 or 70FPS. You are not seeing it. However the extra overhead does help and you will get the juiciest frame as selected by OpenXR The frametimes will always be at 19-21ms because you’re locked at 45FPS. Then they will go to 11ms when you hit 90FPS Please re-read my blob on performance as I have made it more blunt because some of yas reaaaaaally need to hear what I’ve said. Or you know, don’t. I’m not your mum
  16. Yes. It’s called IPD inside the DCS VR settings (badly named). This is what controls world scale and therefore this feature is not needed
  17. Added instructions and screenshot of how to get your own mask. Not required but recommended! (Also might solve your IHADS issue in the Apache and make your aim a little less Storm-trooper like?)
  18. Sorry does that mean you solved your issue. Or as in understood my message?
  19. I'm not in front of my PC. But I think you are looking at the wrong line inside the log file. Alternatively delete it and get a new one. I also want to check you're looking at the correct log file (It's not the DCS log) When I am at my computer I'll regenerate mine and post screenshots
  20. Because in order to achieve 45FPS you’re looking for roughly 19ish millisecond frame time You’re softlocked to 90/45/30 etc. If you have 3090/6900xt whatever and sitting at lower settings unable to get 90FPS but are getting close; this means that you're sitting in your Ferrari doing 60km/h. Which is fine, but I doubt you bought your high end setup to be only using a part of it Even if you *think* you are getting 70fps what you’re likely are getting 45 then 90 then 45 again. Why don’t you turn settings up and enjoy a stable 45FPS instead of the performance Its not possible to get 70FPS If you enjoy lower settings (more power to you) use OpenXR Toolkit to lock you at 45 so you don't go barreling over 90FPS/10ms and then back again to 45FPS/20ms I have 6900XT (Gold silicon sample) and an older 3900X CPU and I can have things cranked including the performance sapping MSAA P.S. God Damn! Motion smoothening is refusing to die no matter how hard I try. As I said, I am not here to kink shame - But why complain about it to me when I say to avoid it like a Hokum trying to get away from a pair of javelins
  21. You’re far better off with a full custom mask im going to make a guide for it as you’re not the first to ask this question 1) disable mask inside ini 2) enable the log above 3) launch DCS. (I do a quick start mission to make sure everything still actually works) then quit 4) Access the VR log inside the root directory of DCS (NOT BIN FOLDER) 5) copy and paste the values about half way down the document you will find them somewhere 4) Deactivate the and activate the
  22. Guide has been updated to reflect the new changes Update OpenComposite to 0.6 Old files removed. New ones attached Removed deprecated instructions on how to avoid black screen and recentering being wonk (Not yet tested by me as I will be out of my office for the next 10hrs)
  23. Jesus Christ with those quality settings you may swell been running a 1070 Took a Ferrari for a spin. Did 60km/h. Can confirm the speed felt the same as Toyota Yaris at 60km/h
