  1. These lights are controlled by turning the knob on the lower dash but can you move or redirect them? Speaking of the front two. I usually turn them off anyway. I assume the control is for both in the front? Does it also control the two in the back? By the trims and radio? Thanks in advance.
  2. Got online after the update last night. Didn't know there were new 50 Cal sounds for the 51. My initial reaction was I didn't like them as well. I thought the previous was great. Let's see if they grow on me.
  3. I finally got OpenRX working with my Quest 2, Standalone DCS MT install for RXNeckSafer. Neck Safer works really good. My question is about the frame throttling setting in the Tool Kit menu. I cap my FPS in NVidia control panel at 45 fps. I run mt Q2 at 90 hz. I am getting good performance before I switched from the Oculus Runtime so I'm running running at default settings in the tool kit menu till I get my feet wet. Would it be better to limit my fps in the NVCP as I have it now? Or should I set it in the Took Kit Framerate throttling menu? Or does it matter either way? I'm thinking they both should not be set? Thanks in advance
  4. I was in a "July 6 44" mission last evening on the server. The F10 map had "rockets/bombs/repair/refuel" labels for the US airfields if I was reading it correctly. However all I could get in a load out was M64's. I was trying to take out a moving train target and the 50 cals on the P-51 didn't seem to phase it. I was surprised by that. I got close once with bombs but no cigar. Rockets would have been great. looks like the next July mission " July 18" will allow them. the labels on the F10 map are a bit confusing on the pre late July missions.
  5. I experienced that last evening. a fairly large number on the server but no one using SRS.
  6. Quest 2 owner here. Very interested in the Quest 3 coming out later this year.
  7. Question about aircraft ordnance, specifically P-51. I bring up the arming menu after spawning and it seems to let me load rockets but they will not fire. I have weapons release button assigned, switches set and can fire them in other missions so I think I'm doing that right. I'm assuming they are not there. With no outside view I can't check. So only certain airfields will allow certain ordnances?
  8. Greetings All, Former Music store owner and musician although don't play as much as I did in my younger days. Used to play badly for a living. Guitar player. Home is the state of Mississippi, USA! Reaching "Old Geezer" age. Got into flight sims in '98 with "Navy Fighters" . Got into Warbirds in'99 with EAW. Joined the '78th VFG in '99 and flew EAW at the old MSN Zone. Had great times there and still keep in touch with some of my old squad mates. That squad was founded by Quaker_78th after he had been commissioned by the 78th FG veterans to build and manage their website in the early 90's. The 78th VFG started in WW2 Fighters but spread to EAW quickly and had 91 members at one point. Xmas '99, we got to speak to some of the 78thFG Vets on comms at a Xmas part where we sent a a couple of VFG members who set up some PC's running EAW that some of the Vets flew and us with them. We were the "offical" online ambassadors for the veteran's group and they linked our squad website on theirs. We were very proud of that. Oh if they could only see where Sims are today. Most of us were on dial up internet in those days. It was a big deal to have 4 VS 4 in a mission. Now we have 100. From there went to IL-2 and Hyper Lobby, 13 of us formed "13 Squadron" after the 78th disbanded. You can see the checkerboard in our patch as tribute to the 78th. I started flying "Cliffs of Dover" in 2014 once I had built a rig that would run it and Team Fusion had corrected many of the issues with it. It's a great sim. Has some of the "soul" EAW had. There are a couple more 13 Sqn mates that get out from time to time but it's usually just me. I finally downloaded DCS last year as I was building my VR rig. The TF-51 in VR blew me away so I got some modules but didn't really begin with DCS until a couple of months ago. Much to learn. I flew CLoD exclusively up until then. I've been Beta testing the CLoD Blitz VR as well. I am asking myself why I waited so long to begin DCS. Aside from it's, what I'd consider "minor" issues I think it's outstanding! I "thought" I was an experienced virtual pilot till I flew on your servers. Some great pilots here. My Step Father is a retired Naval Aviator and a private pilot and I really appreciate the detail of the sim and the airfield procedures on the Multiplayer servers I've been flying on. Warbird nut here although I do have the L-39 as my Step Dad owned and flew one for a few years. Never got to go up in it unfortunately. I haven't flown it yet. I still have to start learning the Jug. Love the Pony in this sim. In EAW it hung with the bad guys. We were so happy when we got some American aircraft in the original IL-2 as we had to paint our LA-5's with checkerboard noses , but the 51 there was outclassed IMHO. So far thanks for the help I've received and for being patient with me as I learn the ropes on the servers! See Y'all online! Axe
  9. This is probably covered already somewhere here. Can liveries be added for aircraft? Such as updates to the default skins or custom versions? Thanks!
  10. I'm taking heed of your good advice. I've gotten DCS VR to run pretty well. So I will leave that at default (programs). I am doing the Oculus Task Manager tweak which is setting the Oculus Link service to "High Priority". This does seem to help in Multiplayer on the 4YA server. Thanks so much!
  11. Greetings All, I'm having a bit of trouble getting information on this setting as pertained to DCS performance. I've always set it to 'Programs" but have been reading here and there some set it to "Background Services". It there a preferred setting especially for VR and Multiplayer? Thanks as always!
  12. Thx for the reply silverdevil. Love your signature!
  13. Greetings All, I've been on W11 for quite a while and really wasn't aware of this setting in Windows System. I suppose it was in W10 as well. Do any of you set DCS to "High Performance" under this windows setting for desktop Apps vs maybe selecting your GPU under NVidia Control Panel (GeForce folks)? I usually have my NVCP GPU setting on "Auto-Select". Does this windows setting make any difference at all? Thanks in advnce!
  14. Greetings All, I got the answers I wanted from this thread. I thought I'd post a link in case another rookie beside myself was interested. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/302117-4ya-wwii-project-overlord-historically-accurate-dcs-1944-server/page/6/#comment-5180427
  15. Outstanding MrExplosion!!!!! Thank you so much! More than I had hoped for!!!!
  16. I'm new to DCS migrating from CloD Blitz. Il-2 and EAW before that. Flying Warbirds. I know the Channel map from Blitz pretty well. In getting used to the "nicknames" used on comms for the Normandy map. I figured out the "Frog Legs" area but which area is the 'P-Trap" ? Thanks!
  17. I'm new to DCS migrating from CloD Blitz. Il-2 and EAW before that. Really enjoying the server and the proper airfield procedures are a breath of fresh air. My Step Dad is a retired Naval aviator and private pilot. In getting used to the "nicknames" used on comms on the Normandy map. I figured out the "Frog Legs" area but which area is the 'P-Trap" ? Thanks!
  18. In my case very positive performance increase in VR. I was able to up my resolution and anisotropic filtering a bit and had very smooth gameplay on the Wolfpack server, Normandy map, WWII. I had a time on the 4YA WWII server where it turned into a stuttering mess. Not sure if it was me or the server. Thumbs up from me for MT so far.
  19. Many thanks again folks.
  20. Pardon if this is a silly question, In Stand alone open beta, use the original Non MT .exe to update or add the patch? The MT .exe doesn't check for updates if I understand correctly? Thanks in advance.
  21. Thanks so much!
  22. I'm trying to add the new DCS MT.exe to my Nvidia Control panel. The only way I have been able to have it separate from the regular DCS.exe was to make a desktop shortcut and point NVCP to that. When I point NVCP to it the normal way only the regular DCS.exe shows. My question is do the Non MT and MT .exe share the same NVCP settings? Thanks in advance.
  23. To bump this thread I tried these settings over the weekend and got very good results on multiplayer. Was running 72 HZ but switched to 90, capped the FPS @ 45 in Nvidia control panel and set Low Latency Mode to Ultra. ASW disabled in Oculus Debug Tool. I was running the Oculus resolution slider @ Max in 72 HZ. After switching to 90 I bumped it down until I got 45 FPS solid on the Channel Map, low level. Ended up at 4480 X 2256. Was able to add 2X MSAA and 4X Anisotropic filtering. Looked pretty good. Several hours, very smooth gameplay on the server.
