I have found the freeze due to having graphics settings slightly too high. Drop rate to 72hz , reduce from Godlike to Ultra, reduce PD in DCS in steps until you don't get the problem. I get the same issue in MSFS if I try and run higher settings associated with data transfer to the headset. It can be worse in some maps like afganistan.

Yep 4080 super and getting stutters. Rock solid on other maps.

Since the latest update my VR (Quest 3) hangs after a few mins. The 2D screen is still running but VR stops. I am using Virtual Desktop which has had no setting changes and work great before and still works in MSFS. Any Ideas?

I get the same problem (multiple aircraft) ,runs for a short while then the VR hangs. It will runs for hours in MSFS on same VD settings.

I get the same thing with the F4. The VR freezes but the game and 2d screen is still running.

DCS wallpaper. The F4 does not seem to appear on the main page list were you can set wallpapers. Am I missing something? -

It will be an Early Access version that is about to be released NOT final. You paid for "pre-order" . When you pay for something it is your responsibility to understand what contract you are entering into. -

A target date isn't when it is going to happen, it is when you want it to happen. A deadline is a time or date before which a particular task must be finished or a particular thing must be done. As far as I am aware ED and HB have target dates NOT deadlines. -
DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024

Your analogy is flawed. You paid for a pre-order (discounted) with no defined delivery just a target. If the product was marked "available" or "in stock" than you would have a valid gripe but it was not. HB also offered a refund for when they realised they would miss the spring target, did you take advantage of that offer? -

I have also been in SW dev and PM for 30+ years and disagree with you disagreeing on him disagreeing. SW dev company prepares release, MS releases a Windows update that breaks the build the day before release, what do you do? You hold the release in any sane commercial world. This has happened to me ! -

I bought the module 5 months ago and now have to wait another day !!!! I will pre-order again Maybe he meant Donut not don't ? -
I am having trouble finding the right settings to stop the cockpit interior including the floor looking way to bright. It is almost like external light is coming through the fuselage. Is there any specific setting that will reduce it? I have tried "cockpit illumination" and gamma but no luck.

Hi, I can't go above 1.3 with a 4080 super and keep 72fps (Quest 3) so I would suggest that 1.7 is to much for a 4070. Just a 0.1 change seems to make a big difference.

DLSS 3 frame generation - is it working?
Lee Dove replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I turned on frame generation (just got a 4080s) in the Nvidia graphics settings and got a big performance boost in DCS. In Windows 10 you seem to have to turn it on but it is on by default in win 11. https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/enable-frame-generation-windows-10 -
Hi, Are you using the Occulus app? I could not get it to work most of the time on MT. I switched to Virtual Desktop and everything now works great on Quest 3. I think the Occulus app. fights with DCS for one of teh threads and ends up blocking it as I was getting 1 thread maxed out in MT .
-
Ok. I got this problem with MT while using Quest 2 and Occulus, ST was fine. When I got a Quest 3 I had problems with the Link disconnecting AND still had the MT problem. To solve the link issue I got Virtual Desktop, that solved both issues. It seems that there is a conflict between Occulus app and DCS MT when it come to thread usage . The VD setup is miles better in terms of quality and speed in both DCS and MSFS. Best thing I ever did. You do have to pay for VD and have a 5ghz wifi repeater. I use one of the powerline ones so not a big expense given the quality increase.
-
Which VR headset are you using. I had this issue with the Occulus app.
-
Is it the same with ST?
-
The quest will run without the occulus app , both 2 and 3 if you use Virtual Desktop. The only limitation is that it has to use a wireless link not the wired. I get better performance from VD wireless compared to Occulus wired Link. In fact when I got my Quest 3 I had issues with the Link which made me try VD. Best thing I ever did
