it works fine, i can see new .cdds entries in graphics.cfg files take care to NOT include the graphics.cfg file when packing mitch skin.

what you are calling 'ridiculous' is basic user skill called 'how to navigate in a pc tree folder' step (no offense at all) i can't help you more on this very basic step, this is the same step as whan word ask you to open/create a file/folder somewhere. the dialog box you talk about is coming from the Windows OS API ... the 2nd possibility is that you have a very basic PC user account, it means that you are not allowed to see some folders, in this case you should contact the PC administrator. Btw can't help more... like i said, it's a very basic step.

best way is to uninstall your mods first to avoid problem because 7.0.0.x is a major version.

before saying 'it won't work', you guy should read carefully what ModMan said you when it detect that your game is installed in c:\program files\ folder on a vista OS.... ;) here is what you should read (in setup installer) before choosing your install path did you read it ? i think no :) Windows VISTA 32bits and 64bits users: Don't install ModMan and your game in "c:\program files\" folder due to UAC protect feature. ModMan is not longer available à checksix actually btw you can freely distribute it or mirroring it somewhere

i made the post for someone who have installed ModMan in Blackshark folder :) so i give him a workaround for uninstalling modman without corrupting his game install You just need to install ModMan where you want but not in your Blackshark game folder and all will working fine ;) btw i updated the installer for next 7.0.0.2 version here is the text The software will be installed in the folder listed below. To select a different location, either type in a new path, or click Change to browse for an existing folder. Windows VISTA 32bits and 64bits users: Don't install ModMan and your game in "c:\program files\" folder due to UAC protect feature. *** WARNING *** Don't install ModMan in your game folder ! best regards

you're right, you don't have understand anything :D ModMan work with lockon series since over five years ModMan work fine with BS BUT don't install modman in game folder and all will work very fine it's better clear i think :D...

yes you can package all the files - cdds files - ".skins" file modified by hand - "country" file modified by hand - others files needed DON'T package the config.cfg file Modman will add/remove automatically CDDS entries in graphics.cfg files after installing/uninstalling mod just be aware that if someone else do also a package and modify also the same "*.skin" file, your skin won't work anymore but i think, you know that best regards Skypat

Hello you had not any problem because lockon series was not used a bin folder. It is always very dangerous to install an utility in the same folder as the game folder, (i talk about all utility not modman only) Because some utility may have some file or some folder with same names as files or folders from your game folder. So always install your game in xxxxxx\xxxxxx\mygame end utilities in xxxxxx\xxxxxxx\myutility so if you have installed by error modman in the game folder here is step by step to uninstall it and reinstall it somewhere else 1- backup your 'bin' folder located in your game folder 2- uninstall modman 3- copy your backup 'bin' folder to your game folder 4- At this step, modman is uninstalled and your game work 5- Install Modman (ie: c:\modman) where you want BUT NOT in the game folder bye

so you installed ModMan in BlackShark folder... ModMan has also a dedicated Bin folder... when you uninstall it, it remove the bin folder (in your case, it removed all the games files also.... because both shared the bin folder) in 6 years... it's the first time i see a guy installing modman in the game folder.... :D ;) install modman in c:\modman install your game in c:\mygame and install WORD in c:\WORD ;) best regards Skypat

it won't IT CAN ------- it can replace existing skin like for lockon series (aircraft skin, terrain, airbase,weapon, etc...) it can add new CDDS skin files and add/remove entries automatically in config.cfg file it can replace, add, delete all type all files IT CAN NOT ----------- but about the country.lua and *.skins files entries you must modify by hand... you can blame ED to have made the most difficult way to add a skin.... it's a world record.... it's not user friendly at all.... and adding section in .skins files automatically with an utility such like ModMan is also very difficult... the most difficult is to find the good indexes... and inserting/removing good things at the good places... what seem very simple for human hand could be not simple at all for a program... :( if someone has got skill to develop a command line .exe utility to do it. he will be welcome and ModMan will be able to call this .exe line command (with a text file as parameter entry). On my side i can't promise when it will be fully automatical...i'am working on it but it's very very difficult and long to implement. sorry for that...

Hello, some news from ModMan World Here you will find 6.4.0.0 features list. I'am working also on a 7.0.0.0 version for BlackShark full support but like i don't have it, i must wait the release for dedicated features BTW this is the 6.4.0.0 temporaly feature list (already coded) 6.4.0.0 ------- - Main menu enhanced with 'drop-right' menu ;) (using arrow button) - Added the ability to restore manually a lot of hot files (use the 'drop-right' menu in the main menu) - added "Force un-installing all files even if some seem not installed" checkbox in mod installer window this is default & safe mode in order to support files modified by lockon at each start even if these files appear uninstalled after a lockon launch, they will be uninstalled correctly when removing the mod - added 'ARC' (archive button) in mod installer window if you don't use anymore an old mod, this button archive it in 'modman\addon_xx\archive' folder - When installing an addon, original games files are now saved with game directory structure in "ModMan_backups_dont_remove" folder' note that backups from older version are converted automatically by ModMan - Now you can switch to another game in main menu (ModMan won't close anymore) - Added backup management feature for several hotfiles - Game management don't open anymore when launching CDDS explorer with shortcut - fixed error when launching CDDS explorer with shortcut - Removing tray icon, now ModMan minimize normally in task bar - updated rar compression engine - updated dds compression engine - tweaked some parameters to optimize the file scanning process. it's impossible... an XML file have not at all the same section (tree map) as .cfg file... section, subsection...etc... it's not a 'replace text' function.. forget it best regards Skypat

FREEZE issue are fixed in 6.3.0.1 6.3.0.1 (Hotfix) - FiXED: ModMan 6.3.0.0 freeze at start for some users (issue occurred for New ModMan user or for user moving from a very old ModMan version)
