  1. That has helped and a lot more missiles are no longer self-destructing, but I'm still noticing that some are. I do also see that some of the aircraft start maneuvering when the missile launches start, so could it be the case that those aircraft are breaking the radar lock? If that is the case, then you're solution was exactly what I was looking for.
  2. Was making a mission for fun with a lot of SAMs and aircraft, and I noticed the initial volleys of the S-300s I placed were self-destructing shortly after launch. Some missiles make it through, but even missiles launched after the aforementioned missiles that did keep going still self-destruct. I think I saw somewhere that this issue can happen when the launcher doesn't have line of sight to the target, but all of the incoming aircraft are flying at above around 10,000m, and the terrain is pretty flat. Attached is a Tacview file that demonstrates this (missile launches start ~2:23) and the mission file itself in case it is user error. Tacview-20240307-021646-DCS-SAMfun.zip.acmiSAMfun.miz
  3. Stumbled across this looking for something else, but if you still need an answer after all this time, perhaps your TrackIR section is disabled?
  4. well, in that case, i suppose there's no harm in giving it a go. time to set everything up and get going :)))
  5. i looked into the whole modding thing last night reading this guide, and though i don't really have any 3d modelling experience, it feels like it'd be very hard but maybe doable. my objective in making one wouldn't be a whole high fidelity professional module, rather in my head, the parts I would want in the finished product would be an external model, a non functional but decent looking cockpit interior, animated parts and lights, and I suppose I'd skip weapons. As for the performance, I imagine I'd use whatever data is available, and then I dunno, approximate the rest or something. Really, all I want is a "good enough" type thing, just something I can fly around and looks nice and maybe performs decently close to how it did. Will this be too difficult for one of my skill level or am I just wasting my time?
  6. i don't have an answer for you, but i too am hoping for new EDM tools soon, I was looking to start into making a 3d model but the EDM plugins only went up to 2022
  7. ah lmao, i searched on google for "Tu-28 cockpit" and did not look at the caption, so that is my bad. the other points though are valid, so i'm leaning towards that it will not be a viable plane as an official module, but some user mod. perhaps sometime in the future i will take a try at it, once i figure out how the entire system works lol
  8. the Tu-28 is an old Soviet interceptor I'd like to see in DCS, I think it could be nice in an FC3 style where it has a nice model and whatnot but without the need for the whole high fidelity thing. the cockpit seems to be pretty typical Soviet style and I think I've already seen a lot of the gauges on the Su-25 or something similar, so I think it could be plausible, though maybe it would not be practical for a low fidelity module. If that is the case, then I would also like to know what it would take to develop a mod of my own and model all this kind of thing and all that. I also think it's a very nice looking airplane, and haven't really seen it in other simulators before. It could also carry 4 R-4 air-to-air missiles so it could be okay at bomber hunting (which i suppose was its historical purpose) which could be fun, and it is also decently fast (1,929 km/h according to Wikipedia).
  9. how did you replace the files? i deleted everything in the original input folder and pasted the contents of what i downloaded, so maybe that could be the problem.
  10. hello, I'm kind of new so apologies if this is not the place. two mods that i've installed, one for the JAS-39 and one for the eurofighter typhoon both seem to have a problem with extreme yawing on the ground. the attached video shows what I mean. the same occurs on the typhoon but file size limit so i did not include it. searching around i haven't found a solution so i hope someone has an answer here. 11. what worked for me here is i downloaded the Input.zip from the guy above and took the contents of the extracted folder, being the three folders and the default.lua and then replacing the original ones in the mod folder with those. basically the mod folders should have an "input" folder as well with three folders inside and a default.lua and those three are the ones that are being replaced if that makes sense.
