  2. As I understand it 9.17, 90s SMT, hump, upgraded N019, mfd 9.18, Economy SMT, no hump, Zhuk radar, probably mfd 9.19, what we think of as SMT, big hump, Zhuk, glass cockpit.
  3. Can APG-79 guide sparrow? I’ve seen them mounted somewhat recently but can they actually guide it? I know the block I can.

  5. Yes this was the original plan for the export variant but they had trouble getting the radar to fit in the fulcrum nose and needed all hands on deck getting the domestic version in service.

  12. Yea, Mig-29S is very important because If it’s Fox 3 and Mig-29G is actually the only modernish Non American or French NATO fighter till the Typhoon drops.
  13. Personally I think we’ll see a Raptor long before an F-35. Raptor isn’t even out of the DCS 2000s timeframes and in terms of software is actually less complex then our Hornet. I’d still give it 5-10 years though. F-35 is much more realistic as an asset, the Typhoon with Meteor is somewhat contemporary. Though I see it as a nice to have rather then an immediate need. Block II super hornet is still unlikely which makes me skeptical of an F-35 till at least the 2030s.
