  1. I’m not sure the Gripen and Rafale do outrate the viper. The Gripen I’ve seen described by Rafale pilots as very similar to the mirage 2000 while the Rafale has excellent ITR if always heard it’s STR described as good but not exceptional. also here is a description of how the F-16 and J-10 compare by a pilot who flew both https://www.defenceview.in/chinese-j-10c-is-good-at-sneak-attacks-but-there-are-many-problems/
  2. Fun fact the fs2004 Boeing Stearman has 315000 tris.
  3. The FC3 cockpits have animation so I assume at some point this was planned (FC3 MSIP?) but it never happened. Maybe once the mig-29 ff comes out the other fc3 aircraft will have their day.
  4. Yea it was supposedly an instruction video and I was hoping they might have said something of interest. I saw it years ago not even thinking anything of it.
  5. That’s a block 30. Also block 30 is about 17-18000lbs empty block 50 19-20000. The gross weight is 20000 for the 30 graph and 26000 for the 50, the 50 is carrying around three tons while the 30 only one. That’s a block 30. 6. I was hoping someone who speaks the language might provide some context if it’s even in there.
  7. I’ll see if I can find the web archive so people can compare it to the HAF manual themselves. Maybe that will put an end to that one.
  8. Didn’t he fly block 30s? I’ve got a sea level em chart from an old Air Force academy website and the 30 has a substantial advantage over the 50 and just about everything on this earth.
  9. Interesting comments, not a danish speaker so I have no idea of the accuracy. Obviously the Typhoon is on the defensive but I was surprised by the 2/3rds number.
  10. It’s not carried on any aircraft but the Pl-8 is in files. I’m curious how it would compare to other similar missiles.
  11. https://www.flightglobal.com/eurofighter-new-aerodynamics-set-for-2014-test-flight/113606.article The 1986 mock up had LERX very similar to the AMK. These were presumably eliminated to optimize supersonic turning as the AMK slightly effects this. That was a perfectly reasonable design decision, that’s the Eurofighter’s bread and butter along with thrust. With that it has a substantial advantage over any fourth gen aircraft. If you get down and dirty your tossing that away for at best parity. Remember it’s a Typhoon not a Raptor with the Ram rubbed off.
  12. https://www.defenceview.in/chinese-j-10c-is-good-at-sneak-attacks-but-there-are-many-problems/ a senior Pakistani Air Force pilot who has flown a large number of aircraft claims the J-10c has better acceleration and climb then the JF-17 but worse then the F-16. It doesn’t say the version but it mentions he flew everything it Pakistan’s inventory which includes block 52 aircraft, Turkey’s which are GE powered and the UAE block 60. The block 50 is supposedly a little better then the block 52 in those categories.
  13. I’m only aware of the tsAGI report, Le Bourget brochure, and Su-27sk manual. What other documentation is available? It would be useful to read. According to google translate ED seems confident the Flanker matches the documentation they have.
  14. http://www.mycity-military.com/uploads2/154453_865801817_Cy27_F15.pdf this is the tsAGI report mentioned earlier, it’s been posted before and the devs are aware of it. also of interest
  15. Do you mean apg-83 vs apg-68 or any aesa in general vs a MSA?
