  1. Well I'd like to avoid having to return a monitor XD . Currently I'm just considering G-Sync compatible listed monitors, but there are some non listed ones with really good prices that do have Freesync.
  2. Thanks for the vids. I have no experience with this sync tech and I don't know if it works independently of the game or it may work ok in some games and cause glitches in others. That's why I was wondering if any dcs user is using g-sync in a no g-sync listed monitor in this way.
  3. I read that you can use Nvidias Gsync with a monitor listed as amd Freesync but with no Gsync capabilites listed. Have any of you tried this in dcs? Im looking for a new monitor and its performance with this sim is the 1st and foremost consideration. Thanks in advance.
  4. I confirm that in the current version the Tornadoes properly carry on with their mission 100% of the times. And I just tested it a lot of times in the last couple of days because I keep being shot down by the ambushing flankers!
  5. AFAIK the 14 day trial program isn't implemented for Steam users (like me). You could just try it from the DCS shop and if you like it then purchase it on Steam. Although that means another separate DCS download and installation procedure for the shop version.
  6. I tried last night to assign the axis zoom to TiR z-axis, but the the default zoom position was TOO close to the reticle, I had to lean back a lot to get a good view of the cabin. Also, the zoom-in/zoom-out HOTAS binds I previously had didn't work when that axis is asigned to zoom, so I had to use the head position controls to adjust for a better view. It was a little bit tricky but the outcome worked ok. With a little bit of fiddling with that axis adjustements I'll be good, I think. Thanks for your help, guys!
  7. Thanks for this video!!! I'm just in the first third of your Big Show Campaign and really loving the experience of flying this beauty in a realistic background. It is indeed a bitch in the ground, though!
  8. Tweak in-game besides in Track-IR software, you mean?.
  9. Hi, @Art-J! I'm glad that there are other people using this way to zoom so I can learn how to do it right!. I'm talking about these limits, yeah... BUT it turns out that there's a limit for the Z-Axis too in the Spitfire! (not in the Su-25T). I have to check other modules, as Ala13_ManOWar suggested, but RL just got in the way. I'm planning to try the free TF-51 today. Just a question: Do you use the default assignment for the TiR axis in DCS? or did you assign a zoom action to the TiR Z-axis?
  10. Thank you for your response! I just checked out that vid, but fortunately my TrackIR config is pretty much ok for my taste (I've been using it for many, many years in other sims). Z Axis is sensitive enough to make a great zoom-in without having to touch the screen mith my nose. The problem I think is in the 'box' that DCS Spit module puts on headtracking axis (you know, the limits that prevent you from sticking your head further out of your cabin even if you continue to make X or Y axis input). In the Spitfire the Z-Axis movement is severely limited, which it wasn't in the previous model I flew (the Su-25T). Since I haven't tried any other DCS modules I don't know if the general rule is the Su-25T unlimited Z-Axis (so you can actually use it like a powerful Zoom axis) or the Spits limited head movement Z-Axis (so you can't move it further than you would be able to move your head). The former was great because it meant I didn't need to use Zoom-in/Zoom-out keys or HOTAS binds and comes naturally. I wonder if there's a way to mod this axis limits or to overcome this limitation fiddling with axis configurations ingame.
  11. Hi, The Spit is just the 2nd bird I'm flying with DCS after the free Su-25T (still a newbie after only 50ish flight hours) and while I'm working on learning the ropes there is this thing that really puzzles me. In the Su-25T I could use my big old head to zoom by moving closer to the screen (TrackIR Z Axis), but in the Spit somehow this movement is VERY limited and far from enough, so I need to use the zoom in/out keys to have a real good look at things. I'm sure there's a way to tweak the values of the invisible 'box' that constraints headtracking axis movement or maybe some workaround for this limitation. Any ideas, please?
  12. Thank you very much!! That would save me a lot of downloading time!
  13. Hello everybody, I'm Nacho, from Spain. Coming back hard to combat flight sims after being distracted for too many years. I've always been a mediocre sim pilot but man, do I love it. I know of DCS World since the beggining, but never tried it (I did play Flaming Cliffs back in the day, though). I'm not really that much attracted to modern jets and warfare, that's why I took so long to finally give it a go... and I'm trully impressed. I love that there are training and practice missions that make you get into the plane step by step. I've been really enjoying learning to fly and use all the weapon systems in the free Su-25T, now my beloved Spitfire and the M-2000 are next.
  14. Hello, I just recently tried free DCS World and got my mind blown so I had no choice but to gladly jump back into the rabbit hole that is combat flight sims and the money sink that runs parallel. Luckily simfest discounts came just in time. The thing is that I ordered a new PC (it was about time, DCS is the perfect excuse for it) and I'd like to keep all the tracks, missions downloaded and specially control layouts to port them to the new PC. I have a Steam installation and I would like to make sure I know what to copy. I'm guessing that I should copy all the contents in the 'C\USER\Whatever\DCS' and that I don't need anything inside the steamapps\etc folders, right? Thanks in advance!!
