Hello ED Team, I would like to take the time to thank you for all the hard work. I rarely post on the forums, unless I feel I can add something to the community. That being said, I feel it is necessary to tell you how blown away I am with patch 2.9.14.8222. I have been flying in VR for a long time and this patch is a massive win. I cannot seem to identify the exact reason, but this patch has made VR feel more real and connected to the environment. My performance has increased and seems more stable. I do not know if there was a change to the color profile of the world, but it looks more realistic. Clarity is much improved as everything has more detail (ground textures, trees & shadows, cockpit details & scratches). I run without any mods or the NV Inspector so I cannot see the DLSS Profile, but I am curious if the patch added the new transformer model and if this has helped with the increased the clarity. Everything together has made flying in VR a pleasure. With a lot of my time spent on ground attack, I require the use of spotting dots to see ground targets at reasonable and realistic distances. I am enjoying the spotting dots after this patch, which appear to be very similar in size to the target and less overt. There also seems to be a smoother transition to the target's 3D model. Together they have made finding and tracking the target through roll in and weapon release more manageable. Previously I would often lose the target when the dots disappeared and left the 3D model blended into the ground texture. But now with the higher clarity in the image, the target stays more visible against the ground texture. Flying is a great passion of mine, and DCS provides me the opportunity to operate so many amazing machines and in great detail. Growing up using all types of flight simulators, I choose to remember where we came from and continue to be amazed by how far we have come. It is necessary to have goals and yearn for more (Eagerly awaiting the Dynamic Campaign. In due time), but I will revel in the opportunities I have in front of me today. Wonderful work on the patch. Thank you for all that you do, RUBIX

Hello all, I came across this same issue. I found out what was causing it on my end. When you are in the front seat, make sure you relinquish control to George by pressing the default command “c” for requesting and relinquishing controls. George now seems to require control before you can bring up the George AI menu. I hope this helps.

I did some testing to see how far this goes. I tested with the old weather system and the problem does not seem to appear. Using the new cloud presets seems to be required. I also found that if you start the mission in the Apache, then the problem does not appear. Further testing confirms the A-10 TGP will cause the Apache PNVS to have the error. I also found that the OH-58 will cause the Apache TADS to have the error instead. When the TADS has the clouds on top, it will occur in FLIR and TV. Other modules seem to also cause the Apache Image Systems to have the clouds on top. I did not extensively go through every module or create track logs for those, as I believe the provided ones should be enough to start. The track logs for the three scenarios are attached. I swear I looked through the bug reports before posting, sorry for the double bug post. Anyhow, please see my report as it contains the issues I have been able to find. It seems related to Realistic Targeting & Late Activation Units.

This one took me a few hours to track down. As the title suggests, I found a crash to desktop while using George. I set a simple mission with a Player Apache (George AI Targeting Set To Realistic), one Red armor unit, and one Blue armor unit set to Late Activation. The two armor units are set ahead of the Player within the same search area. At mission start, command George to search the area with the use of the PHS Slave. Immediately after De-Slaving there will be a crash to desktop. Required Setup * Realistic Targeting * Unit in search area with Late Activation See attached track file. dcs.20241227-002429.trk

Hello all, I think I found one of the issues relating to this problem. I set up a test mission with stationary targets on a hill at different elevations. I start the test from a hover and scan the hill with the FCR in Auto ELEV. This results in a decent return. Obviously it cannot see all the targets as they range from 10 degrees below the nose to 10 degrees above the nose. I then set the ELEV to Man and move the range to 10 degrees nose up. Scan and find just the higher targets. I then set the ELEV back to Auto. This shows a change on the ELEV Scale, but in reality it does not move it back from the Man position. Scan and again it only finds the higher targets. I further test this by setting ELEV back to Man and going to extreme upper limit. Scan and find nothing as expected. Set the ELEV back to Auto and Scan. Again find nothing. TLDR. Going to ELEV Man and move the range. Set ELEV back to Auto, and although the ELEV Scale moves back, it does not actually move back from the Man position. Track File Attached. FCR Auto Elev Not Working.trk

I searched and did not find a topic specific to this phenomenon. I have a track file with an AH-64D on Sinai to explore this issue. I am seeing CPU Spikes every few milliseconds when viewing certain objects at certain angles (Possibly related to view angle to the sun). I tested with every shadow option and found the problem does go away with shadows turned off. The problem progressively gets worse with higher shadow settings. I have observed the problem continue to get worse with the following settings turned on: Cockpit Global Illumination or MSAA (2x) I believe this is related to many of the CPU Spikes in VR as you fly around and run into an object with specific shadows, reflections, and/or transparent textures. I have, in my example, been able to isolate a specific object we can use to test this issue (Tank with grating next to a helipad on the Sinai map). To be clear, this is not a specific Sinai issue. This occurs on every map, but this is best isolated example I could find so far. Attached is the track log, some in-game stills (showing the CPU Spikes when viewing the fuel tank with the sun behind it (does not happen when viewed from the other angles), and no spikes with the tank not in view, with higher settings the spikes occur when just viewing the helipad), and my settings. As of the current build George will Safe the aircraft anytime he is not looking at a single target. This includes when you have a target list using the "Down Long Press." My workaround is as follows: - Confirm George is not looking at any target with "Down Short" !!- Player Arms the aircraft (Aircraft must be on Safe prior to player arming, otherwise George still seems to have control of Arming) !! !!- Player WAS Gun (Player must have a weapon system selected, otherwise George still seems to have control of Arming) !! - Then Command George to search for a target - Command George to fire on target - After target is destroyed, Command George to search for an additional target (You will notice he is unable to Safe the aircraft, and thus the aircraft and the Hellfires remain armed) - Command George to fire on new target......there will be no delay

I have created a short concise track showing George placing the aircraft on safe after every successful hit. I have 8 Hellfire Missiles and shoot the first 4 as most people would. Ask George to look for a target, select a target, wait for Missile Ready, Consent Fire. Find new target, select target, wait for Missile Ready, Consent Fire. <--- This takes forever. Rinse and Repeat. The second 4 Hellfire Missiles I shoot using my workaround. Tell George to safe weapons (Down Short). --> "I" arm the weapons, "I" select Gun, then tell George to find a target, wait for Missile Ready, Consent Fire. Find new target, select target, I do not have to wait because the George cannot safe the weapons, immediately Consent to Fire. Proposed solution: Have George keep the weapons armed after first engagement until commanded to safe the weapons with already in use 'Down Short' command. AH-64D George Safe Weapon.trk
