Thx SilverDevil. So you only have one Aircraft folder for both the P-51D-30 and the P-51D-25 and DCS loads the controls for both planes properly. Correct?
-
Wow! Your expertise really shows! Very thoughtful and thorough! Thank you very much! Yes I have TARGET by Thrustmaster installed but have not been using it. Thank you for the heads up on the P-51D issue but I need a little more clarification. I only have one P-51D plane but I see the P-51D-25 and the P-51D-30 in the Instant Actions list of missions. So I should create a separate file in C:\Users\maajr\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input for the 2 variations of the P-51D and copy the configurations. I would name them P-51D-30 and P-51D-25. What is "P-51D-30-NA"? I'm sure you have a reason for that name.

Before I even received an answer to the previous posts, I discovered the UserProfiles directory! Please explain the DCS logic for how this is supposed to work. I would suggest that DCS add the logic or instructions to the pop up windows Load Profile and Save Profile As. C:\Users\maajr\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\InputUserProfiles C:\Users\maajr\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\P-51D G:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-51D\Input\P-51D If Flappie would add the UserInput folder to this explanation I will be eternally grateful!

In order to clean up and minimize my confusion, would you recommend that I move all the DIFF.LUA files to my C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\P-51D\joystick directory? My understanding at this point is that .LUA belongs in DCS structure and DIFF.LUA belongs in Saved Games structure. On another note: If there is a particular kneeboard that I want to use for an aircraft to be loaded automatically each time, would I add a Kneeboard folder as show below: C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\P-51D\Kneeboard And then put the kneeboard .PNG file in that directory? The result would be that when I load the aircraft, I would see kneeboards pulled from Terrains and Campaigns and also my chosen aircraft kneeboard in Saved Games. Correct? DCS does not have a default aircraft kneeboard of it's own. They are leaving that up to us. Correct?

Thank you for your help Art-J! Honestly, I wouldn't know one syntax from another since I am not a programmer. Based on what you told me I did find the DIFF.LUA files in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\P-51D\joystick. So if I understand you guys correctly, for DCS to save and use profiles correctly, I have to import and/or manually configure my controls and then SAVE PROFILE AS to the C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\P-51D\joystick directory. Correct? Then each time I load a different aircraft, DCS will automatically load the correct control configuration? Thank you again for taking the time to help.

This is an example of what I am trying to import. buedis P-51D Profile for the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals (digitalcombatsimulator.com) I have both diff.lua and Lua files in my G:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-51D\Input\P-51D\joystick. I have none of those files in C:\Users\maajr\Saved Games How do I have to set up directories so that when I load a plane, DCS knows what control profiles to load without me having to keep loading profiles each time I change planes? Thanks for your help.

All of the joystick and throttle profiles I've downloaded from the forum to import are .LUA files. The Load Profile import wants DIFF.LUA files and are not loading. Please advise. Thank you.

F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
All fixed but not sure why. F10 and F1 are working properly now. Thank you. -
You are a genius Flappie! All fixed! Thank you! Do you know how to put my DCS in a Windows Frame so I can move it to other monitors? Full Screen option has no effect.
-
I changed my settings in DCS to 3 Screens and the result is shown below which is on 1 monitor. Now I can't change it back to 1 Screen because DCS is not saving the setting change. Another issue is that DCS is not in a Windows frame that I can drag to any of my 3 monitors. "Full Screen When checked, the game will run in full-screen mode. When unchecked, the game will run in a window." Not working for me.

Aircraft Placement to begin a flight
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in User Created Missions General
Have read much of the manuals. It's an ongoing process. Where in the manual does it tell me how to get out of the F10 map? Still can't escape the map back to the cockpit! -
F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
I set the center Mic switch on HOTAS Throttle to COMM Push To Talk Call Radio Menu. What do you recommend for the 4 surrounding Mic buttons? (Fwd, Aft, Lft & Rgt) Still have not resolved the F10 trap. Once I press F10 to view the map, I can now get the radio menu but I can't get out of map view! Please advise. Thanks. -

Aircraft Placement to begin a flight
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in User Created Missions General
The saga continues! I put an A-10C on the ramp. Making progress! Now I cant get in the cockpit. Looking at an external view. F1 and F2 and the numpad keys do not put me in the cockpit. -

Thank you for the reply VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants! I put the plane at an airport by clicking on the map in mission editor but I can't place it parked on the ground. The altitude and speed will not go to zero. Please advise. -
F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
I was flying in free flight, and I pressed F10 and got the map and I am trapped! I can't get out! This is the same issue I had in the training lesson when I hit F10 for the Radio Menu. I got the map view and could not get out of map view and no radio menu. The Easy Comms are off in my settings Baltic Dragon. -
F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
Thanks again Pokercaccio! Opening the Miz with 7Zip did the trick! -
I am a new user struggling with the complexity of DCS. I am familiar with X-Plane and P3D. How do I place a plane in the location I want for a flight? All I want to do is learn to fly the planes to start. How do I put the plane of my choosing at an airport ramp or runway of my choosing to begin a flight? Seems like that would be the beginning of a simple mission but can't seem to figure it out. Please advise. Thank you

F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
Thank You Baltic Dragon! Easy Comms is probably the issue. Will check it out. Any clue where I can find the kneeboard used in the Iron Flag Mission for the A-10C? It's not in the obvious places. -
F10 Radio Menu in Iron Flag Mission???
maajr57 replied to maajr57's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
Thank you Pokeraccio! I appreciate the time you spent to help me. I understand PNG's and where they are kept in Saved Games. The kneeboard I am looking for is in the Iron Flag mission. That question is one Baltic Dragon would likely know. It's not in the obvious places. -
I am a brand new user trying to figure out DCS and planes and campaigns and terrains and kneeboards and my ears are smoking. I am trying to do Iron Flag mission 1 and am getting stuck at F10 Radio Menu. When I press F10 I get a map but no Radio Menu. Please advise. I also like the kneeboard used in the mission. I would like to use if for other practice flights but can't find it to copy into my A-10 kneeboard folder. Where is it located? I wish the instructions would remain on the screen rather than disappearing after a short time. Are campaigns updated? Where would I find updates? Lots of questions, I know. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
