  1. Considering that the system detect the missile exhaust flash (I don't know on which frequency and will obviously never know), and can do it from far away in dcs, I don't understand. I know what you mean. But still, it can be really slow to react. Not immediate, I can understand, but so late, it is not very useful anymore. Here is a track demonstrating that (Auto-dispense ; steady flight, more than 500ft, shooting distance of about 2 km). It is even worse if you adapt your tactic (understand flying low). They detect you later, shoot from closer, and the CMWS is totally useless. CMWS Test.trk
  2. Here is the track I just made. Conditions : SA24 - Expert - Alert state : RED - Departure : 1.2 km (0.6 NM) from the helicopter track Outcome : Enemy indentifies the Apache at 5 km (2.7 NM) and shoot at 2 km (1.1 NM). PS : CMWS on auto-despense (I let the system do everything by itself ; no flares manual dispense). The missile is detected between 1 and 2 seconds after launch. Which is almost too late for the first shot, and way too late for the second one. MANPAD Test.trk
  3. I don't have any track recorded right now. But I precise that it is flying with the Apache, which has a low IR signature. This could explain it. I am shot from a bigger distance with the F18 or F16. But still, when looking to the shooter with my TADS, I can see him aimming at about 4 km. I will try to give you a track this weekend.
  4. I would be glad to have some precisions from ED if possible. I am currently doing some compare with the ODS of the black shark 3 which is way more reactive and gives more situation awareness the the AH 64 CMWS (we know aboute the launch immediatly and if there is a new shot). I absoloutly love the job they made on the Apache, but manpads kills me before the warning.
  5. This is quite disturbing. The Apache has a low IR signature, so you are shot at very close range only and have a short reaction delay available. On the other hand, The CMWS reacts late. Impossible to deploy flares in time. Even in auto deploy setting...
  6. Too far for ATGM means 3km. Too low for MANPADS mean less than 1.5km (when looking at the shooter with the TADS (FLIR), he is aiming at me since 4km). Mounted machine guns shoots at 2.5km approximatly
  7. Hello, After many deaths, and then many tests, I observed that the detection delay of the CMWS can be quite erratic. Most of the time, it detects a missile launch immediatly. But sometimes, it takes one second, sometimes more. Which means death each time it happens against a MANPAD shot at 1.5km. It is frutrating, concidering that this system exist to prevent that kind of threat. I don't know what provoke this delay. It can happen, or not, independently of the configuration (all my tests are in straite level flight at constant speed). It seems to happen with MANPADS more than with SA13. It is even worth when many missiles are shot successively. It seems that the system doesn't concider the third or fouth shot. What could explain this problem ? (By the way, it doesn't happen with the Onboard Defense System of the Black Shark 3) Thanks a lot !

Hello, I would like to know if there is a way to extract some data from the dashboard in order to display them in the corner of my screen, in the same way of the "Show control indicator" (RCtrl+Enter). It would be usefull to see some data like the Engine Power or the RWR in the F18. I find them to low on the dashboard to see them quickly. Same thing for the AH 64 flare count when playing from the Copilot Gunner seat. This information beeing visible only on the Pilot dashboard. Thanks a lot !
  9. Other thing, it is really strange when flying a helo to be shot down by an ATGM when the SA13 close to the shooter even didn't notice that we were there... Even if it is normal for an IR missile not to be shot from maximum range, they are only shot from really really close. And ATGM from too far away on a moving helo !
  10. I totally agree with you, but concidering that, don't understand how a ZU 23 on a pick_up can snipe me at a longer range when the MANPAD didn't react.
  11. Hello, I have noticed that the IA units using MANPADS shoot only at very close range (2km max). This is way lower than the theroritical range. Ground units using guns (12.7 or ZU23) shoot at way bigger range than MANPADS and very accruatly. This happens all the time. I wander if this is on purpose. Thanks a lot

  13. Yes, I reassigned them correctly. And to be sure, I did it again and I tried with another stick/throttle and with my keyboard. The preblem remains
  14. Hello, I an new on this forum but I play dcs for few years. I would like to report a problem have on the Apache since yesterday, regarding the last Open Beta update The IHADSS symbology Select swichs don't work any more. It is impossible to swich from Transition/Cruise to Hover/Bob-up. If I start in flight, I am stuck in Transition mode and if I start on the ground, I am stuck in Hover mode. The mapping is still good and the problem remains even if I map the sight selection on the keyboard or on another stick. Am I the only one with this problem ? Thanks a lot
