This 4+ year old post got continued from little ol' me!

I just noticed the actual waypoint on the hud for the friendlies lol, I originally had thought they were in a building to the front since the person I replied to said they did a south-to-run strafe. So assuming that, I'd expect that they were taking cover to prevent possible ricochets. I thank the guy who marked out on the hud what is what since the terrain quality looks horrible in the HUD camera! Also it was an educated guess since an A-10 pilot would never strafe when there are friendlies in front of them. I just took the guess that when he said south-to-north and when they said friendlies were to the north, I expected them to literally be in the direction where the plane was facing lol.

Once I fired my AGM-65D Maverick at a Radar Vehicle, I suddenly crashed with no error message, just the application completely shut off. I believe I was setting my tgp as SOI if I can recall, and I was doing that while rolling left to centre out my aircraft (A-10C Thunderbolt) then it suddenly crashed. I was using markpoints at first to set as my SPI, but notices it was a bit offset from the target, so I used my TGP as SPI and pointed it at the Radar Vehicle. Map was in the Persian Gulf, mission trying to capture a base (I do not know the name unfortunately), in a multiplayer server. System Specs are: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz with 16.0 GB ram. Here's the Track file: BLUE-FLAG.PERSIANGULF.MODERN.miz-dynamic-20230127-005450.trk And here are the Logs: dcs.20230126-231341.dmpdcs.log Hope these help.. Let me know if anything is missing!

There are videos of the TGP or FLIR Cameras in general capturing the hot ends of a GAU-8/A projectile. Here are some for reference: 3:06 firing TP rounds at a container. Most likely real combat footage since the explosions resemble High Explosive Incendiary PGU-13/B Rounds. I think it would add immersion and awesomeness to the realism that is DCS!

They were taking cover with trenches, marines always do this in a danger close situation like this, it's to prevent a possible ricochet from the ground hitting one of them in the face. So that's why he didn't have a problem with it and I believe the enemies were not visible from the North considering how they were in a building, around other buildings.

BRU-42 with 3x MK-82 clips through FT600 Fuel Tank
bigcomputerman replied to bigcomputerman's topic in Bugs and Problems
For now I believe we can all agree to prevent the choice of adding/changing pylon 5-7 depending whether or not there is enough space to fit enough arnaments like triple racked bombs with some sort of pod (fuel, or travel), especially for the sake of realism. Wouldn't you agree gentlemen? -

Yep, so in general never use station 6 when 5 and 7 are in use, good job! -

I would suggest to not being able to add a fuel tank or bombs if there are no space. -
If you're not sure what I mean by reverse clearing, there's a mechanic that the GAU-8/A uses in both the A-10 and CIWS system called Reverse Clearing, basically after firing, it rotates the barrels counter-clockwise to remove unfired rounds out of contact with hot barrels, thereby preventing an unwanted “cook off”. By backing unfired rounds out of the gun, the propellant in the case remains below auto ignition temperature. What it looks like IRL in the A-10: 12 seconds into the video, he fires the gun for a quick burst, then after about a second, it does a reverse clearing as indicated by a scratch-like sound. And here's what it looks like in the CIWS system: 14 seconds in, it stops firing and after a second it reverse clears the barrels. I think it would be a wonderful and cool feature to add, hope you guys consider it!

Hi, whenever I loadout with HEI ammo, the shells keep impacting much lower than where my actual recticle is pointing, which forces me to predict where to aim. Is there some way to fix this or do I have to do something when starting the plane? nullAs you can see, the bullets impact right under the actual place where the recticle is pointing at:

You know what really pisses me off is that the night strafe of the a10 was deleted, why????

Hi everyone, I just bought the AH-64D Apache module and as I was in the second training mission, when it asked me to unlock the wheel rudder, suddenly the rudder went all the way right! I'm not sure if this is a newbie thing or if it's a problem with my hotas. Here's a video showing what happens: 2022-12-07 16-20-33.mp4
