  1. It would be nice to see the Dynamic Campaign come out this year. I am really looking forward to the Corsair and F15E I have to say.... I myself would like to see a MK XIV Spit. Seems like MOST of the work is done.
  2. As a Newbie to DCS, I get a lot out of many of the videos. Growling Sidewinder has great post flight analysis but he is also an effective fighter, so it is nice to ride along, watch his engine management and strategies. Grim Reapers videos are great IMHO and another great learning tool. I ran across phil style today and found his videos very good, especially the how to on Storm of War. It seems to me it takes a lot of effort to make these videos and little effort to bash them. Some of these are almost Cinematic Masterpieces. It is the combination of all of these that sucked me into this.
  3. I have been practicing my Dogfight skills so I suck a little less :). I set up a head to head mission in IL2, and are fighting a typhoon with my Spitfire MK IX (I could not figure out ho to set this up in DCS) that I slowed down with Extra tank, armor, vent cover and some rockets. It is a great flying drone when set on Expert AI (although apparently the Typhoon packs a serious punch if you get careless). I have managed to not destroy my motor and I am able to not depart flight in favor of the ground very often. That said after the merge I notice I tend to make a quick right or left turn and pretty much get in a turn fight. I see patience is key here as to not waste ammo. I have been trying to keep my boost below 12lbs and my rpm below 3k, is that the best idea in a turn fight? I would think more power=more speed and a wider turn radius correct? When I am in the turn I THINK I get the best rate just at the edge of where the airframe starts to shake - is that correct? It is a fine line between that and stall, I guess I will get better with practice in that area. Any tips are APPRECIATED!!! Rob
  4. Hi Everyone, I have a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and are using the throttle quadrant along with my VKB Flight Stick. In the P47 Module I am unable to get the throttle and boost levers to work. They show as correctly bound in the mappings, and I can see the Axis increase and decrease in the mappings section, but in game the throttle does nothing. Everything else works but those 2. If I fly the included TF-51 Mustang, it works fine. Any ideas? I think it may have to do with the TM "Associated Configuration File". The book says to enter the path for it during the setup in the "Fly Now" quick launch but it never says what it is or where it is located or how to create one. I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!
  5. Hi Everyone! I just downloaded this great looking program and are about to buy a module. I am a disabled Vet and can't use rudder pedals. I have a twist axis VTK Flight stick along with my Warthog HOTAS. I just got a new higher end PC so I should be able to run DCS fairly well. Before I REALLY delve into this I wanted your thoughts on if the twist axis is going to be OK or just a road to frustration. I APPRECIATE your thoughts! I can fly the free P-51 OK it seems (BTW DCS has FANTSTIC audio with the F3 flyby and the trainer P-51 IMHO). I am looking at the P-47 (I have ALWAYS loved this plane) and the 109 (I am guessing the Germans always have less multiplayer flyers than the allies). THANKS AGAIN!
  6. Yes, I did figure that out. I was having issues with delays between when I hit a button and something happens. I cut back even MORE on my settings ad that helped. My GEFORCE GTX 760 in my 10 year old Alienware Area 51 is struggling for sure. I ordered a new Mega PC with a GEForce 4090 24 GB ram card but it seems a lot of the parts for it are on backorder so I thought I could at least learn the planes.
  7. Then I too am an oaf, well almost oaf, I was going to order the F16 stick when I got home. You saved me the effort.
  8. Hello! I hate asking such a newbie question, but as a newbie - here it goes. I just go the game, it manages to run on my old Alienware PC. I also picked up the ever so cool Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS to replace my ANCIENT X52. This seems to be a GREAT piece. I have searched and searched but can't seem to find key bindings for either A10 (I have both) specifically for the Warthog HOTAS. I am SURE there are people out there using it.... DCS is great, but the control setup is a bit frustrating! I would APPRECIATE any help.... THANKS! Rob
  9. This is good, REALLY good. THANKS for your time investment on this. I am no where near this level as I JUST started, but it is something to ... shoot for.
