  1. Hi guys. TrackIR is already set up properly and in every other game I can already see past 90 degrees vertically. Why can't I do this in DCS? Is there a hardcoded gimbal limit at 90 degrees up? Mantis
  2. Hi guys, I'm looking for a mod compatible with DCS 2.9 with decently large raindrops and other such canopy effects. Performance is not an issue. Are there any currently available? - Mantis
  3. F-4 T-shirts from preorder ship "before" the 23rd/24th of February. So probably around FEB/MAR.
  4. That... what? An F-4E somehow outmaneuvering an F-16 makes little to no sense at all. Also, in terms of DCS, I wouldn't be surprised if the MiG-21 does everything comparatively better- F-5E vs MiG-21 balancing, for instance, indicates that the miG-21 might be modelled as doing a bit better than it does IRL- though that might just be the F-5E's comparatively less detailed modelling.
  5. Month 22 of 2022 Half-life 3 has released and Team Fortress's Heavy Update has been playtested and approved for release at Valve The F-4E has yet to be released
  6. If they did it to the FG.1 they can do it again for the F110. My Powdered Copium shall not be denied.
  7. This is saddening and I will personally mail fifteen dubiously malodorous pipe-shaped packages to the US Air Force Reserve to get them to reinstate F-4E combat status so that I can watch USAF F-4Es with GE F110s, AIM-9Xs, JHMCS, BOZ Countermeasures rails, AMRAAMs, the AN/APG-78 AESA RADAR, pits ripped out of F-15Es and LANTIRN pods fly against the 3000 White J-7Es of Xi. Then we'll see who gets the last laugh. (NOTE TO MY PERSONALLY ASSIGNED REDHEAD TOMBOY FBI/ASIO AGENT: THIS IS A JOKE. ALSO, YOU ARE VERY HOT. SEND NUDES. NOTE TO NERDS: THIS IS A JOKE. PLEASE PUT THE 40,000 WORD ESSAY ON THE SUPERIORITY OF GEN 4 PLATFORMS AWAY)
  8. I know they used the AN/ALE-40. I just want to know if I can put BOZ countermeasure rails on it for The Lols.
  9. Does anyone know about whether the F-4E ever could use BOZ Countermeasure Rails like on the F-14B? I mean, if they attach to a NATO Standard Hardpoint...
  10. most of the manuals shouldn't be. I have seen more than a few weapons delivery and dash-ones for the F-4G.
  11. Yes, but no F-4 ever carried the R.550 Magic in service, and I have yet to see any pictures of the F-4 actually carrying the R.550 Magic in any way, shape, or form. for now, it remains a funny "what-if" scenario. Also, I don't think the Magic uses the same cooling as USAF sidewinders.
  12. Shut up and INTERPRET THE BLOTCHES JESTER
  13. I still have it. My modpack is currently 140GB and I have at least 72 different F-4 variants and several hundred playable aircraft. Help.
  14. Called it. Would be cool if it was there, though. Just imagine the ridiculous things you could do. The Germans and Greeks mess around with IRIS-Ts and AMRAAMs on their Phantoms, which is interesting to say the least.
  15. I had $50 riding on it not being strobe. I have won $50. Hail to the King of Phantards.
  16. I don't mind the strobe. It will be very funny to scream at my RIO.
  17. As I said, I'm fairly confident that it probably has more to do with the AIM-7F than the AIM-7E. AT that point in the dash-ones there are quite literally zero mentions of AIM-7Es in the manuals. In older ones there were mentions of how AIM-7Es and AIM-7Fs can't be carried together, but even that was omitted from the 1F-4E-1 '79 rev. '86 I think- either that or I'm thinking of the F-4E '91 (Reduced) edition. Something I can't shake, however is that I have this really odd feeling that one of the manuals mentioned loading the Matra R.550 Magic onto an F-4, which makes absolutely no sense. I have a feeling that I read Matra Durandal somewhere and I'm conflating the two, but I get this really odd feeling that one of the dash-ones mentions the R.550. Probably not real unfortunately. Would be cool if it was, though, like the Python 3s on the Israeli F-4Es. print("shalom world")
  18. Strobe is cool man, it's just a matter of convenience (easier to tell what RWR it is with alphanumeric, BUT I know how to use a strobe RWR just fine- in a high threat environment only being able to differentiate X and S band radars may become an issue) as well as 50 Aussie Fun Bucks, and I like my money.
  19. Seeing as that -34-1-1 is a 1986 edition I'm fairly confident in saying that it's probably the AIM-7F/M (since that's also the only AIM-7 mentioned in the -1)
  20. I prefer the strobe as well, but I have a $50 bet riding on it getting alphanumeric.
  21. Not sure if AIM-7 has HOJ, but the radar definitely has one that's stated in the -34-1-1
  22. Oh god, is that a strobe RWR? With a billboard? God, I hope they at least give us the option between switching RWR display systems...
  23. Honestly, I'm hoping the features were things like TISEO, or maybe even targeting pod functionality, or modelling how the AGM-65s work with the thermal channel or something cool like that. What I hope they didn't do (purely a matter of preference) is try and implement a strobe RWR instead of one with an alphanumeric code for each- or at least I hope they give us the option to switch between the two. I hate strobe RWRs.
