Prior to flying Mission 7, I got my binds sorted out and got somewhat proficient at working pave spike from the front seat. When I realized this was a night mission, I thought the target might be lit up with flares, as was sometimes done in Vietnam. However, I can barely even see the Pave Spike reticle at full brightness, much less the target. I can sort of identify the target position with dot labels, but that kinda feels like cheating. Even with labels, I'll be guessing where the south wall is. Is this meant to be a stand-in until pave tack is available?

Okay, played through again and everything was fine. Looks like standard AI weirdness. I just wasn't sure until I actually saw them do the maneuver. Thankfully, it's a fun mission.

It appeared as though one of the others in the formation collided with me as we were about to enter the break as they were entering echelon left formation, though the other three seemed undamaged following the collision. I really don't think I was out of position, just posting in case anyone else encounters this issue.

I've encountered a problem on Mission 2 involving a continuous uncommanded roll to the right. I have had this happen on both attempts to play the mission. The roll begins as soon as the Red Kite command is sent for us to push. The roll can be mitigated somewhat by turning the roll aug back on, but it is still present and the stick must be held to the left constantly to stop the roll. The screenshots don't really say much but I thought I'd add in case I missed something. Edit: Okay I admit to adding Sparrows to my loadout. I'll do it again without them to see if it happens again. but I'll leave this here in case it turns out to be unrelated.

Replayed for a better score and ran into a problem.
kb1701 replied to kb1701's topic in F-4E Red Flag 81-2 Campaign
So I eventually ran into this issue again in the campaign and completed mission 1 with it. Thankfully didn't need the emergency gear or flap handle, but brakes were really lacking as you'd expect (good job HB!) Thankfully touching down seemed to temporarily restore pressure and I didn't need the hook or emergency brake. Ended up with 80 percent (landed with just over 1k of fuel). It had no serious impact on the mission. For me, it definitely seemed to be related to holding at the marshal point, probably not campaign related but still never seen it before. -
I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask about this but I haven't had it happen outside the campaign. Sorry for the lack of screen shot but they didn't save correctly for some reason. On Mission 1, which I completed last night but am replaying for a better score, we arrive at New York to marshal and as we are circling, I encounter a drop in the Utility hydraulic pressure to ~800 psi. This is accompanied by a blinking WHEELS indicator and a CHECK HYD GUAGE warning light. I also noticed that the flaps and slats indicators were switching back and forth constantly. External view shows landing gear doors fully closed, slats out, and flaps up. Moving the flap switch has no effect. The manual tells me what everything means but not if it can be remedied. There don't seem to be any binds that I could have hit accidentally. I reloaded the mission and ran into the same problem, this time, the pressure dropped and returned twice before dropping out again. Again, my apologies if this is something that is obviously fixed, but I've had the Phantom since launch and this is a totally new issue for me. Incredible campaign otherwise though!

Tasks not loading/causing the mission to automatically quit
kb1701 replied to kb1701's topic in Bugs and Problems
I posted there, the screen shot is from the second 1v1 mission when loading the first task. I also encountered this twice on the first 1v1, but eventually got through it. It happened first when loading the pure pursuit task and then when loading the butterfly set after the lag roll. Thanks for your help, the campaign is great but I get that DCS can be tough to work with. -
I have noticed a tendency of the mission to automatically shut down when attempting to load "tasks". It doesn't happen every time but it forces me to restart from the very beginning of the mission. It happened to me twice during event 2 although I eventually got through the mission, but has now happened twice in a row on event 3. Has anyone else experienced this? Attached is a screen shot of the post mission menu it crashed me to.

fixed internally Speed and Angels mission 08a bug after patch
kb1701 replied to tezak's topic in General Bugs
The blocking soldier did not move away, I didn't look to see if his engines were started, I tried taking off anyway, at first, it appeared to work as Chig went through the checklist and the flight got takeoff clearance, however the other triggers after were not working. In fact the AI kept switching the waypoint back to Nellis after I hit the first waypoint. I had Jester select Junno and Student Gap but the fence in checklist and g warm never played, I had to quit before I reached Student Gap but I will try again later. The other three jets remained on the flight line throughout. -

fixed internally Speed and Angels mission 08a bug after patch

On Mission 8, since the patch, the startup goes as normal until it is time for Paco to taxi. The flight stays still and remains on the flight line. -

I am somewhat confused by Mission 7. I am referring to the "Fox-2" engagement after the first run. I am always able to get a sidewinder shot after the element splits and it nearly always hits. The kill, however, does not register, when Paco shoots his bandits and claims a kill, Slick still calls "2's engaged" and I have to turn with the bandit and kill it again. Am I meant to engage in a dogfight or is this a bug? No complaint, I am enjoying the campaign, just a bit confused.
