  3. One of the better games I've played, the ending was a huge disappointment but otherwise a really good game.

  6. Sorry but there is nothing to agree or disagree on, it is best practice to use the User folder when writing to the disk. The only way not to have it that way is if you get another operating system. You then for no reason refuse to fix your problem (files taking space on your ssd) which easily done by moving the folder as already described. If you don't want to do it because of religious reasons or whatever fine but don't complain when the actual solution is given to you.

  9. When firing Vikhrs missiles the hud targeting sight will "reset" itself to the center position after each release. I think, but I am not sure that I've also had problems with the vikhrs to maintain flight inside the beam so I am not sure if the pods still follow the sight and give a "wrong" launch. In previous version of BS2 the sight would not jump after the rocket has been fired. I have attached a track of this behavior. New Track.trk
  10. I am going to be extremely vary about that. I hope that I am wrong but that looks a lot like a scam. "Popped up from no where" "A shoddy made website with terrible security where we are to input our credit card numbers." "A product that is too good to be true" "None of the supposedly USB connected devices actually have a USB-coord" "The device which is on the bench manages to magically track the back of the hand" As said, there can be explanations for all of these things but I wouldn't send them any money just yet.
  11. No, not at all, it's just the ATC that is bad.
  12. The ATC will give you propper clearance if you do the fly-in correctly. If you don't the ATC will give you clearance to land just before you do, provided that the airstrip is clear.
  13. Why would should anyone that didn't pay full price for their game get the full game? Isn't that kind of unfair to those who did? The more logical option was to not have a upgrade at all and just let everyone buy the full bs2 version from the start. I bought both bs 1 and 2 for the reason that I didn't want to have bs 1 installed. Those who didn't mind of course bought the cheaper upgrade version which is fine. I think it's nice of ED to provide an upgrade as an option for those that supported them in the past. But they didn't have to do that. I do hope they get the beta version working for the upgrade asap.
  14. I sorry but any performance increase from that would be minuscule if any at all. Track recording is never something that would greatly affect your fps.
  15. It might but why would you? There is no reason to do so.
  16. You are letting the missile slip outside it's guidance beam. The vikhr has a sensor on the back which makes it follow the laser from your aircraft. But if you move in a way that the sensor can't see the beam it will lose tracking and fall short.

  18. No sane game company, russian or otherwise will update their engine to a multithreaded one just like that. We are probably talking about an investment that might easily cost a hundred thousand dollars in man hours, and that is for something that will not generate a immediate return. Also, your graphics card handle billboards using shaders, your processor shouldn't be taxed at all. Also, I made my own mod: I am not 100% happy with it but it's better than before.
  19. Fire should look like fire, that is what this thread is about. I welcome any change towards, tracking gauges targeting dead things/not everything is set on fire but that is not what this thread is about. There is absolutely nothing improved by having bad fire effects with what you are trying to argue for so I suggest you make a different thread.
  20. Uh, of course I want the current ones to improve. while it's good that different units produce different amount of smoke I am saying that it's producing way too little. Right now in game a truck burns for about one minute, it is put out before you are able to do another run at a column. When the difference between a burning vehicle in game can be measured in how many hours it has been on fire then we can begin talking about setting different burn lengths. Right now it's just a game limitation. Also stop accusing everything that has to do with effects of being "hollywood", the old effects where not too far off from a burning vehicle and looked way better than what we have now.
  21. I realize that this is a work in progress but I was always amazed by the smoke effects in the game before. Sadly now that we have much better explosions the smoke effects are really dull also go on for an extremely short period of time. If it's performance based maybe an option in settings is of order.

  23. Make sure to check you manifold pressure. For an easy takeoff I tend to leave it at around 40 inHg; when you've gained top speed you can just ease the throttle forward and you'll be off the ground.
