  1. I just did the update on 10/3/24 to 2.9.8.1214 and I no longer hear radio com dialogue. I see the text - example; asking Ground Crew to remove wheel chocks, but don't hear the dialogue. I do hear engine and other sounds, as well as background sounds/music. Also, it was working yesterday fine before I did the update. I have checked it with a couple F/A-18C missions, and its not playing in any of them - both cold starts and already airborne starts.
  2. Wow that was it. Very simple solutions. I went with the padding approach by adding zeros. Thanks.
  3. I've added some png file screenshots on cockpit tasks flow (Requiem's), startup (Chuck's Guide), general info (Dimo K) to the Kneeboard for my F-18C, but I can't get them in the correct order sequence. I've tried numbering them and in the Kneeboard folder on my PC in Saved Games they're in the correct order, but in Game when I callup the Kneeboard from the cockpit the order is scrambled. For example, Start1.png is flowed by Start12.png. The other also seem to be reversed in order. Any suggestions?
  4. This worked for me too. I still had the TrackIR 5.5.1.exe application in my Download folder, so opening it brought up the Uninstall option. I did this. Then used the same 5.5.1.exe in my Download folder to reinstall it. I also restarted my PC.
  5. Good points. I fly the A-10Cii no real air-to-air engagements, so I don't turn on the mirrors. I'm probably not taxing my i5 pc and 4070-Super graphics card that much, and can get away with higher settings.
  6. Thanks that was it. They're in the "Saved Games/DCS/ScreenShots" folder. So I guess I just ignore the error message.
  7. I am not able to take screenshots in DCS. When I press the "PrtSC" button I get this message in red at the top of my screen - "Unable to save screenshot because of an internal error (the format may not be supported or the drive may be full)" Any suggestions on how to fix?
  8. Thanks for the good information and advice. Since I'm enjoying my current experience in non-VR, and don't want to yet get hooked on VR I think I'll hold off on it for a while. My i5 seems to be at the lower end of performance for VR. Also I've heard rumors of a new Quest 4 and Nvidia RTX 5090. Maybe next summer I'll be ready to upgrade or replace my current PC with an i9 and RTX 5000 series card if that leads to a better VR experience.
  9. I've been in DCS for over a year now and have started thinking about going from TrackIR to VR, looking at the Quest 3. I'm wondering if my PC specs are good enough for a VR experience that's on par with my current one. I only use this PC for DCS and fly the A-10Cii in single player campaigns, and get fps in the 120 range (I've capped it in game too). Intel Core i5 12600K 3.7 GHz NVIDIA RTX 4070-Super 1TB NVME SSD 32GB DDR4 RAM Samsung 32” Odyssey Neo G7 4K 165 Hz Curved Monitor Thoughts/recommendations?
  10. Thanks for clarifying. I should point out that there's noting in the A-10C manual about this nor the checklist in the manual. Might be something ED could add to a future revision.
  11. Yes, holding the switch to Elect works but it turns out you have to be on full APU power and not battery. Also, I've not seen this action noted in any of the various A-10C checklists folks have created over the years, so it seems like a change. Thanks.
  12. Since the recent update when I cold start my A-10Cii its Altimeter is in pneumatic mode and will not switch to electric mode, no matter how many times I hit the mode switch, including trying after both engines are up and running.
  13. Lots of good advice, but no joy on my end. I've set my Joystick dead zone to 1 and curves to 18. Still bouncing all over the place with little stick input. There are not a lot of A-10c ii campaigns that "require" AAR, so maybe it's not worth the frustration on my part - getting tired of spending an hour or more just to crash into a KC-135 as opposed to flying a CAS mission and feeling like accomplishing something. I've been in the A-10 for about 10 months of DSC. I also have the F/A-18 but haven't done a single thing with it - bought on sale when I joined DCS last year. I'm starting to run out of A-10 missions/campaigns. Might be time to move on to another aircraft and skill challenge like carrier operations. Maybe AAR will be easier with it. 14. I've seen video recording flights and there's a little window being displayed - I think red cross lines - that shows how you're moving your Joystick. How is this called up when flying.
  15. This is the hardest thing to do in DCS. I've studied the YT videos and their suggestions - just can't do it. It would be great to have a sim mission with feedback on what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right. I've been trying for the past week, at least an hour plus each day and still no joy. Given ED won't add an "Auto A/A Refuel" feature where the A-10 just does it, I'm not seeing any real alternative to just skipping doing this altogether... incredibly frustrated.
  16. I have an installation question. Your instructions say the folders Hooks and dcs2target are to go into "%HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts" On my PC the "Scripts" folder is not in Saved Games but "Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts" Should I put them here, or create new "Scripts" folder in the "Saved Games\DCS folder"?
  17. Thanks your script/program is great, and I was going to use the Warthog 5 LEDs for indicating degree of Speed brake position as you suggested. I was just wondering before I downloaded your script/program how close ED was to putting control of the 5 LEDs into a feature that could be enabled directly via the in-game DCS Control settings menu.
  18. Hi NineLine. Any word/ETA on getting this built into DCS? Specifically for the A-10C II and Warthog.
  19. I got my new AVA a few days ago, and it feels great. To be honest I don't notice the springiness at all when using it. Probably as when I usually release my grip on it the stick is already pack at center neutral, and doesn't bounce around. I have a SimFab Cockpit chair and had to buy the updated mounting plate for AVA Base from them - not a big deal or cost. The AVA Base plate from Thrustmaster will not mount on the SimFab L-Bracket. So it's probably worth checking with the manufacture of your own cockpit chair if its not SimFab.
  20. I just did a restart of my pc and the issue has gone away. I wonder if the initial stuttering could be caused by the fxo and metashaders going through their rebuild the first time after being deleted.
  21. I just did an update of the latest Nividia driver (552.22) and then DCS 2.9.4.53707. I fly the A-10C II and now there's a horrible visual stutter as I look around the cockpit. I am running the same mission I did before the updates, where there was no stuttering, so it seems connected to the updates. The mission starts on the runway with the jet running, so as I look around to check and set things to my liking, it will freeze for a second or two. I also emptied the fxo and metashaders2 folders after running the DCS update. I have FPS on the Nivida card 4070-Super capped at 125 and in DCS at 165. The DCS FPS monitor has it averaging 117 FPS which is a bit lower than the 120-125 FPS I was getting in this same mission before the updates.
  22. Yes I realize that from this post thread, and I did copy 3.7 into my DCS folder. However, I noticed the update replaces it with 3.5.10 and was really just wondering why they didn't go with a later version.
  23. I see that ED in its April update did go from DLSS 3.5.0 to 3.5.10.0. I wonder if the next update will have 3.6 or 3.7.
  24. Great tip to changing to black. I was beginning to get a little frustrated trying to see the green HUD in bright sun desert and cloud conditions, even when at max intensity. I just tried these changes; yellow first, but I like the black better. Thanks.
