  1. At first, I did not know that controller interchangeable for lighthouse headsets. If I have known, i would certainly get HTC or Vive Controllers. So I purchased Pimax sword controller, it is the worst purchased ever!. I am not trying to sell it, feel guity loading piece of crap to someone else. It still on my desk to remind me do some research before buying anything.. However, it still think 8kx is a good flightsim headset, just do NOT buy sword controller.
  2. No, they are not interchangeable except for those that use lighthouse base station for tracking. Pimax 8kx controller sword can works on Valve index.. I think Valve index controller can works on Pimax Crystal that has light house faceplate as well
  3. Depend on how good to PC port turn out to be. In comparison to HPG2.. PCVR2 has eye tracking and OLED display that is good for night flying with deep black. However, it not recommended for someone new to VR. I think for OP friend, crystal light is better option. It is a no brainer for someone already has PS5 console to get PCVR2. I defintely interested if there is a cheap second hand.
  4. Don't forget Sony PSVR2.. Sony will port to PC later this year... it has potential to be PCVR headset with eye tracking. It could be a good replacement for HP G2 I think it is retailed at $499. However, we do not know how it is port to PC.. Many believes that will be via cable not wireless
  5. I am down for it.. my first pre-purchase since the Apache.!!
  6. Size or form factor is not the major issue for me, but how balance it is. I found the 8kx is front heavy, i have to put counter weight on the back. Crystal is more balance with the battery. Crystal light is basically the same form as the Crystal, but wihout the battery. So it likely will be front heavy. Interesting to see how pimax going to address it.
  7. While it is true that 8kx and Crystal both as sam 8.3Mp. Crystal has aspheric lense, while 8kx and G2 has fresnel lens that has distortion around the edges, we need to upscale from 1.3x-1.6x. hence more GPU demanding.
  8. At present, I have three headset Pimax 8kx/Pico4 and G2... G2 is still my daily driver. It is a very good all round headset.. better than 8kx/pico4 in term of colour, clarity within sweet spot. If you have short eye lash, get a thin custom gasket.. so you can get close to the lens. Will increase in my case 20% FOV.. get rid of the looking like toilet roll effect.
  9. The Pimax 8kx with 3840 X 2160 pixels per eye is more demanding. Crystal 2880x2880. Pimax 8kx works quite well on my system.. mine is similar to yours Amd 6900xt/5800x3d. Your 4070 probably faster with DLSS.
  10. Fortunately, i am in proportion of people able to tolerate 60hz. Able to max out nearly all my 3 headset with 60hz. So performance wise not really a problem. Half way through the pre-order, have a second thought.. wait for larger FOV 12kx.
  11. $699 is a reasonable price. Don't really need eye tracking. Pimax 8kx is running fine on 6900XT/5800x3d, which more demand on GPU with large 160 FOV. The only concern is the relative small FOV. I think the len is fixed, cannot be replace with newer larger FOV len.
  12. In Simshaker, There is an option one can set minimum G-force. I set it to > 5 for warbird and 7.0 for Tomcat When the bass shaker start to vibrate (The G effect quite distinc from others) then I would ease back pulling the stick. This way you can react much quicker than looking at G meter in the display.
  13. That is not bad idea.. perhaps get mini-bass shake strap to your angle.. a program similar to simshaker.. filter only G-force from DCS telemetry and start to vibrate G-force > 5
  14. Great find Qcumber .. not only in VR but also help on the desktop... center lost mouse cursor on my 55" tv monitor as well. I found X=50 and Y=50 more to my liking.
  15. You can run or create shortcut like speed-of-heat suggested... Like DCS______/bin-mt/DCS.exe" --force_disable_VR
