  1. thanks guys... dont have the numpad but i solved by being in the right position with the oculus on, just before launching DCS. That solved it :)
  2. Hi guys, Ive finally installed the CV1. Everything seems to work except the menu screen is (not exactly) behind me when I launch DCS, despite the sensor being in my face, approx a meter away. Cant figure out how in the world to reset the view (I tried with the oculus software but it points me exactly in the aforementioned position. If I launch the game, im sitting way outside the cockpit. Any help appreciated. Tks, P

TDC Adjust controls red Hello, Sorry guys, probably a noob question, but what the hell is this? The previously assigned button on my warthog just stopped responding in 2.0 and this happened, but everything works great in 1.5. Removed joystick, reset computer, still the same. I've managed to remap the same button as previously used to the TDC after reset, but it just doesn't work. :((

Thanks but unfortunately that's not the solution to my problem. The parking break is disengaged on the instant takeoff mission. I've tried everything to fix it until I saw it addressed in the changelog for this update - however problem persists even after updating. As for the inconsistent ambient and engine sounds, I realized it actually only happens everytime on mission reload using SHIFT R. When starting a fresh mission, it's a non-issue. Last but not least, I've detailed my DCSW specific sound balance issue here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2645535#post2645535

Update issues Hello everyone, After playing for 15 minutes or so I can tell that: 1) TDC Slew Axis is not working for me either 2) Aircraft still veers heavily left on takeoff. Impossible to takeoff in a normal manner. 3) NWS doesn't automatically disengage at 30KTS or so (as the manual specifies) 4) M2000 Sound issues continue (ambient/engine noise is low from time to time and then randomly comes on loud - nothing to do with airspeed). Seems only some of us are suffering from this. 5) Related to DCSW - sound balance seems to have shifted right. It's obvious with the music at the homescreen. Never experienced this before in DCS or on my computer. Other sound sources show no problem. It's super annoying. The installation definitely updated as I have lots of the new features listed.

Yes, furthermore the cockpit is completely silent when dogfighting at mach 0.7 and then all of a sudden the engine sound comes on loud. Only sounds are weapons, cockpit interaction sounds, afterburner gas hiss, and air on turning. Just checking whether it's something specific to me. I'm not complaining about low volume of the engine.

NWS Issue Hey Mr Mojo - having the exact same issue with the hard left turn on take off. For a second I thought it had something to do with my pedal calibration or breaks but I have the same problem taking off without the SAITEK pedals connected. (also couldn't bring up the control surface monitor with CTRL-ENTER - just doesn't work) Seems like this is something quite rare. Anyone else experiencing this? Another strange issue I'm having is the sound of the engine which is completely inconsistent. Sometimes there's an almost complete silence in the cockpit with only the cockpit sounds and afterburner "gas stove" type sound when engaged. Then suddenly during a dogfight all the engine starts to roar. Anyone?
  11. I use the mic switch button for trackir configs (pause, zoom, reset) and use the right hand pinky paddle as a shift which then turns the mic switch into a... mic switch!
  12. Hey guys, Check this out - Seems like a simple tool to convert any screen into a touchscreen. Could be quite interesting to fiddle with the cockpit switches without having to use a mouse. EDIT: Nevermind - it works with a proprietary OS and has no plans to even provide PC connectivity. If anyone has any suggestions into an affordable conversion of a UW monitor into a touchscreen, they're more than welcome! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/touchjet-wave-turn-your-tv-into-a-touchscreen#/story
  13. the famous hammerfall 3 hey guys, im having a weird issue in hammerfall 3, which seems to actually not be related to the campaign -> on the way from WP2 to WP3 my A10 loses correct speed readings. This results in many problems (perf. alarms for instance when I find myself flying at 380kts), however biggest being my inability to correctly target through CCIP or CCRP. I am also unable to release JDAMs because of this. My only useful weapons are Mavericks and GUN with the manual fixed reticle. I've previously incorrectly calibrated my CDU, but this resulted in different types of errors and I've received proper feedback from the A10 (INS errors). Very frustrating, happened 4 out of 4 times, and just with this mission, which is totally bizarre. I've checked if the system fail probability parameters were messed with but nope.. they weren't. If you have any suggestions, they would be most welcome. Thanks! PS: Baltic Dragon, my turn to praise you for this campaign. Such immersiveness and unpredictability is something I've really been missing in DCS. Thanks so much for this and please keep going! If I may suggest something -> alter the system fail parameters for even more unpredictability. Where do I donate?
  14. Wow, someone really has to give a medal to this amazing community for patience. To be polite, this is far beyond a noob question.
  15. Or get an ultra wide monitor. I have a the u3415w and its quite amazing for dcs. Also, it's a 1440p
  16. So... I've assembled the rig and gamed with it for 3 days. 5820k was easily OC'd to 4.4GHZ and probably could do more. I'm getting 60fps+ on the dell U3415W 1440p with the single GTX 970. So, a single 970 is totally sufficient for a 60HZ 1440p ultrawide monitor! that being said, im about to try the more visibility mod today, that'll probably take it well below 60.
  17. Thanks Buckeye. Since I asked, I've read the following review and I find it hard to justify a 980 for DCS, especially given your feedback. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-review I think I'd rather start with a single 970 and perhaps invest in a 970 SLI or sell and purchase a single 980's successor when edge comes out (and if I feel the need for it). Based on what you said guess I can expect around 60fps with a single 970 right now w/ a UW 1440 - also I'm going with an i7-5820K + 16gb DDR4. Hope the DDR4 can also be helpful taking off load from the 970s RAM when needed. Cheers, P
  18. Thanks Demon. What do you think about DDR4 though? Isn't that a major advantage in terms of potentially taking off load from the GPU's ram when needed? Also, sure the 6 cores will be underused, I've read somewhere that the 5820k is faster than the 4790 without multi-core use as well. Is this not true? - should I only focus on the actual Ghz? Thanks, P
  19. thanks for that, quite clear! makes me comfortable that a single 970 can take on that resolution well. So -> I'm tempted to go with option B + a single 970. I like the idea of DDR4 and future-proofing the Mobo/ram investments for a good.... 5 years (ridiculous expectation?! lol ) Hopefully the 970 will do just fine by itself on the UW 1440, but I guess the real showdown will come when talking of support for multiple screens such as in Oculus Rift. At 1080 I'm pretty sure it'd handle itself well - at 1440, probably not. I've just read about the memory issue that Prophet is referring to http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/199684-nvidia-slapped-with-class-action-lawsuit-over-gtx-970-memory-issues - Not sure how much of a big deal this really is, but even if it's really losing an 1/8 of RAM, it doesn't make it that bad considering the price tag. Besides, I've just looked at the most comprehensive review of the 780ti vs 970 vs 980 (link below), and it's hard to decide for anything other that the 970. None of them can really pull off 60fps in 4k (or 1440 x2 for that matter - i've read that there's a good chance of a 1440 Oculus Rift), hence it seems as a better bet to start off with a single 970 and when need arises (oculus / 4k / edge), upgrade to an SLI or a new version of GTX. By then, the 970 will hopefully be even cheaper and/or a new version a lot better. great review: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-review Cheers
  20. Hi guys, Firstly, I apologize if this is not the correct forum to place this question. I'm looking for help as I'm choosing components to a basically DCS exclusive system. I've been saving up for this dream of mine for quite a while and definitely have high expectations for "visible performance". The current setup would be an SSD, 32' 1440 ultrawide 60hz monitor (DELL), but I'm wanting to really get this ready for max performance on a consumer version of oculus rift or a fast 4k monitor. After thorough research, I'm undecided between: Options: A: i7-4790k - 32gb DDR3 1x GTX980 - MOBO ASUS Z97 MAXIMUS VII HERO B: i7-5820K - 16gb DDR4 2x GTX970 - MOBO ASUS X99 ATX DDR4 3000 Both options would get an 850 PSU and an H110 Corsair Cooler. I feel that option B is a better, future-proof alternative (albeit slightly more expensive). The reason I'm going with a 970 SLI is mainly a budget reason but the idea would be to start with a single 970 and upgrade to an SLI a few months in, which I'm assuming would anyway out-do a single 980. - Am I totally overkilling this - is DCS even this intensive on the CPU/GPU? - Is the DDR4 RAM actually going to speed this up as vs DDR3? - Could 32gb RAM help or is 16gb enough. - A potential SLI on the MAXIMUS VII would only work at x8 x8 rather than x16 x16 as on the x99. Is this a real gainer? - Finally, is a single 970 sufficient for great FPS on DCS (warthog/mig) with a Ultrawide 1440p with a 5820. Many questions I know  - any help welcome. Thanks in advance! -p
  21. For the love of god... should I get 1x980 or 2x970 ?!?! Hey Buckeye, Why did you decide to go with 2x 970s vs 1x 980? Theoretically, 1x980 for now is a good, future-proof option, as it opens up 2x980 SLI for a ... 4k future. My question now (especially since I'm looking to purchase the U3415W) is basically... Can I just get one 980 and never drop below 80FPS at max settings? What do you think, and what are you experiencing with the 970s SLI? cheers!
  22. Hey guys, 2 Quick questions: a) Is there really no way to use a slider for speedbrake? b) HOW do you get ALT and IAS readings on the X52 MFD??? This and current HEADING would be AWESOME!!! Thanks
  23. there'd be a section for all that! :) I can imagine that it'd be hard to stream the TGP or MAV image to the ipad though, as the only way to connect it would be wifi....
  24. Now, just a thought, but imagine: Making an iPad app for this should not be too difficult. Chose your instrument from a cockpit sketch, get the real image on the ipad, flip the switches.... Surely a lot of people here own an iPad and no one can deny what a powerful controller this would be. Furthermore, it'd market this game in its own way. I already use many "remote" ipad programs to control my mac/PC and I can totally imagine using this, and would be ready to pay money for it. Hell, if I knew how to program I'd to it myself. So just to see... would you use it? Any ideas? ED, would you be up for supporting something like this?
