  1. We've been hard at work for the last few months, replicating the highly in-depth Navigation Systems of the T-38C Talon. This Includes: EGI (GPS) Navigation (waypoints and ICAO fixes) VORs TACANs These systems are powered by our NavDataPlugin, to simplify collecting and using the navigation information from each DCS Map. This plugin has been open sourced for the modding community to use! If you are interested, send me a PM on Discord or on the ED Forums. As always, huge thank you to the SME team for this one (and blame them for the delay in posting this). With their help, many flaws have been corrected from colours to functionality. Enjoy the video and see you in the next one! Hayds_93 Lead developer, Caffeine Simulations
  2. Soon to come is No Fly Zones, which is a whole seperate thing and all T-38Cs have digital Avionics, the Analogue T-38s are all A models
  3. Work has been ongoing in the avionics, building out the core features of the Mission Display Processor (MDP) including core GPS navigation features such as waypoints, flight plans, and training zones. All of these now factor in DCS's unique "Flat earth" coordinate system, as well as conversion automatically into the T-38Cs two supported coordinate formats, MGRS and Lat/Lon. These new features highlighted some core issues in the navigation MFD pages, prompting a rewrite of the code bringing performance optimizations, and more accurately placed icons and drawings on the MFD map. An additional byproduct of these changes is the ability to more dynamically use our Data Cartridge functionality. Today we present the ZONE page, and Training zones drawn on the HSD/SIT pages. These drawings are able to be loaded from either the mission file, or externally via the Data Cartridge. These zones are fully customizable, and include custom names, shapes, positions, and default visibility. The ZONE page allows either pilot or instructor to toggle the visibility of the training zones (shown in video) or edit the zones manually (not currently implemented) This functionality represents a core part of our commitment to MilSim Squadrons looking for an advanced trainer to prepare them for their missions by building a capable, and customizable training environment. The included manual will ship with detailed instructions for including these features in your missions. As always, Thank you for your kind words, and continued support of the project. As always, you can keep up with our progress on discord, where we are active daily, and available to answer any questions. https://discord.gg/pVuxeRMxU3 See you in the next one Hayds_93
  4. I'll paste this here from our Discord A short overview of the avionics so far. The UFCP is complete, and mfd is well on the way. We'll post another overview in a month or so As always discord is the best way to keep up with progress, link to this can be found on the first post of this thread See you soon, Hayds
  5. The announcement of the next major avionics component, the Up Front Control Panel (UFCP). The UFCP is your primary control interface with the jet, you will spend a good portion of your cold start, and even in flight using it. While it looks complex, it is a very easy system to use once you know the tricks. We will provide tutorials on this further down the line. On show today is Menu Switching, Typing, Options Toggling and the Rocker Switch. We are still working on the cockpit model (Not Shown here), which is closing in on completion, with only minor fixes and details left to go. All going well you will see that in game in one of our next few updates. A special shoutout to Violent Nomad for supplying textures to our temporary model. And to JNelson from the A4e/F100D for creating a new debug tool, shown in the upper left, which has been extremely valuable. Once again Thank you for the support, images and stories being posted in the channels Cheers Hayds and the Caffeine Simulations Team note: in the clip you see me press Q on the keyboard, that resets the QNH to 2992, and is one of several keyboard shortcuts implemented
  6. Today we announce our Data Cartridge System (DTC) The DTC in the Talon loads navigational databases, training zones, targets, jet configuration etc. What will this look like for you guys: For the pilot, this will allow you to preprogram the jet to your taste, examples include: 1. HUD mode (F-16 or MIL-STD) 2. DDS behaviour (more on this later) 3. ADI symbology (CDM or Waterline) 4. Altitude warning modes (and their values) These are persistent, and will save you time configuring the jet, as you will likely fly with the same settings each flight. For the MILSIM training squadrons: 1. Instructor pilots will be able to have a generic file for their entire fighter wing training school 2. Custom training zones 3. No fly zones 4. Low level routes 5. Targets etc. Editing your DTC * The DTC file is clearly laid out, well documented, and easy to modify manually * If an error is made during editing, the jet will revert to default settings, and post an error message for you We are looking into a separate application based solution for editing the DTC file, but this will likely come after initial release Thanks for your continued support Hayds_93 and the Caffeine Simulations Team
  7. Here's WIP pic from our discord posted a few days ago. Significant progress has been made to the avionics suite, right now we have progress videos on 4 pages of the Main MFD. for videos see our discord https://discord.gg/hGaq7qk2Ax Cheers Hayds
  8. Hi Dave Yes indeed. This render was posted to our discord server a few days ago. Hopefully soon we can show off our work inside the cockpit also Dev work is still forging ahead, we are just lax at posting on the forum. My apologies Hayds
  9. you can edit the waypoint names in the app itself, these will then transfer over into the heli
  10. Whoops, my bad, I believe the app defaults to feet, and I forgot to convert. We'll take a look and fix if needed, thanks and sorry, that one slipped past me, I orginally let the kiowa autofill the heights like it normally does, but then you lose the feature of adjustable altitudes, so i added that Cheers, Hayds
  11. Hello Everyone So! Today you might thinks there's not really much of a progress but there was a lot of work.... - First of all the rudder pedals were added, with all that goes around it, - Then the stick was added too, - The main MFD was reworked, - The cockpit shape itself was reworked (mainly re-topo), - The work has started on the rear cockpit -..... This list is non-exhaustive, lot of work has been done these last days in the code too and all of this is still WIP ofc -[FR] SHELTER OhOh Caffeine Simulations 3D artist EDIT: We are aware alot of our forum images have been vanishing, we are aware of the issue, and are working on a fix Cheers Hayds
  12. Seems to be back... Not sure why some of our pictures are disappearing... Sorry about that. Regardless more progress has been made, hope to get another render in a few days out to you guys
  13. Intakes are complete
  14. Entirely new cockpit, complete with MFDs, HUD etc There are some more in depth pics and a few WIP demos of the cockpit stuff in our discord, using the F-5 proved problematic, and besides, then the majority of users would not be able to fly it Cheers Hayds
  15. It's the virtual turkish stars demo team, there arent a crazy number of posts out yet, but its coming their discord is primarily in Turkish so its a bit hard to find stuff, but its well on the way, further ahead than me by quite a bit
  16. That was my original plan, I decided that I wanted to pursue the standalone mod after I got into it though T-38A is very different in relation to the C Less powerful, less complex, different exterior model, a completely new cockpit, like Coffee said there is another team working on it, and is probably much closer to release than mine . In terms of an AT-38, that is not an option we've explored yet, the C model has a wide variety of simulated weapons functions for the milsim squadron enthusiast, which is our initial target audience. Nothing is planned other than getting the modern C model up to scratch as much as possible. Once that point is reached, maybe, but at the same time I have a wishlist of several other cool aircraft too Cheers Hayds
  17. https://discord.gg/T9VzNXDb you're better off asking in their discord but I'll forward the devs this link
  18. nullI have good news for you then We are seeking Livery requests on our discord right now, so any reference photos, tail numbers etc you can provide would be very helpful
  19. Hi @CarloVecchi You are 100% correct, but fear not, we are modeling the correct engines, they aren't there now, but its on the list. Intakes are High priority, Nozzles less so, but will be done. Thank you for the support, We are always available for any questions, feedback etc either here or the discord (Discord will get you a quicker response) Cheers Hayds Lead Dev Caffeine Simulations
