  1. I get it! Unfortunate, but that’s the reality with military equipment.
  2. Awesome! Thank you. Best dev team in DCS. I’d love to see some of the F1CT information you have. I just wish the F1EQ had more information available.
  3. That sounds like an excellent idea! My trio of wishlist F1s are the F1AZ, F1EQ-6, and F1CT. Go for it!
  4. There is an example of an F1EQ-6 in the Aquitaine Air Conservatory in France, which is the very same aircraft which is the owner of the cockpit seen above. Here’s the link to the dedicated webpage for that EQ-6: https://www.caea.info/fr/la-collection/le-materiel/37-collection/avio-de-combat/515-mirage-f1eq
  5. EQ-6, AZ, and CT is the dream trio for me! An F1CZ with the head-mounted sight would be cool too. First fighter with a head-mounted sight!
  6. See above! Would you mind going to my F1EQ thread and adding to the conversation over there? All documents, pictures (real or DCS) of the F1EQ, or otherwise interesting information and conversation is welcome!
  7. Absolutely! The EQ-6 especially, as there’s one in a French museum, and had the superior Sherlock RWR. Would you mind going to one of my threads and adding to the conversation there? It’s called “F1EQ Information Community Project”, and I wanted for it to be the go-to place for the DCS: Mirage F1 fans to discuss the F1EQ and show Aerges how many people care about and would like for an F1EQ to come to DCS. All pictures, documents, or otherwise interesting information is welcomed!
  8. Hello ladies and gentlemen, I would like to start this thread in order to have one place where we can all contribute to the gathering of F1EQ documentation, cockpit photos, and other information regarding the Iraqis’ revered and infamous F1EQ, preferably the F1EQ-6, but all otherwise is welcomed. I hold the belief that, after the release of the BE and M, an F1EQ variant has been the most popular wishlist request for the Mirage F1 module. The F1EQ-6, the ultimate F1, was above and beyond in its capabilities, and was easily the most capable variant of the F1 from a Dassault factory. I would like for anyone interested in this project to contribute, whether by searching for documentation and pictures, or just having conversation and sharing information on the elusive F1EQ, in the hopes of catching Aerges’ eyes. I believe the F1EQ would be an incredible addition to DCS, considering its historical importance in the theatres of war seen in DCS, such as the Persian Gulf. The Scourge of the Persian Gulf, the Tomcat Killer, the infamous Mirage F1EQ! I do this, as I am personally a huge fan of the F1EQ, but also because I know that many other DCS: Mirage F1 fans are as well, and I want to have one place where Aerges can see all of us working together and showing that we do want an F1EQ, and that we, or me personally, would not mind paying extra, as it is a very advanced and complicated variant of the F1. Everyone is welcomed, so if anyone has any information, documentation, or pictures (cockpit or external), share it here!
  9. “…more akin to…” I said. I didn’t say it IS an EQ-2 or -4. It’s a BQ. And I was referring to the link to the pictures of the very munted cockpit, not the intact one I posted. The one I posted is the EQ-6 from Aquitaine.
  10. Also, in that link of the EQ’s cockpit, that’s from a BQ, so I’m not sure how similar it is to the EQ-6. It’s probably more akin to the EQ-2, maybe the EQ-4.
  11. For sure. The EQ-6 would be very well received and popular, even if they added it as a separate module. I would absolutely not mind spending an extra $15 (only if you already have the F1 module of course) to get the F1EQ-6, as it’s an extremely advanced model with a lot of its avionics being very different to those in the Spanish F1s. The radar is different, HUD is different, RWR is different, cockpit is very different, various different weapons, targeting pod, etc. With all of the added capabilities of the EQ, especially the EQ-6, I would happily pay more for it. With the 580gal drop tank and more sophisticated weapons, the EQ-6 would be tremendously powerful in a Cold War setting. The more advanced Remora and Sycomor ECM and dispenser pods, Exocet missiles, better radar, better RWR etc., would make it very dangerous! The S530F is already a great missile, but with enhanced SA and HUD, it would be absolutely lethal against other CW jets. The best part? There’s an F1EQ-6 on display in a French museum, so they wouldn’t have to go to Iran to model it! There‘s an F1EQ-6 in the Aquitaine Air Conservatory as well! Here’s a photo of the less munted cockpit belonging to the Aquitaine EQ-6:
  12. Hopefully we could get an F1EQ with the Remora ECM pod and Sycomor dispenser pod. I kid of course, but an EQ would definitely be well received, popular, and capable. There’s even an F1EQ-6 in a museum in France. That’s all I’m saying… Love all the work on the F1, it’s my favorite fixed-wing!
  13. You could but you would have to go online and import a file lol. That’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid here. I suppose they could add presets for stuff like that.
  14. Well being able to understand it is not the point. In DCS WW2, morse code is often used for direction finding beacons. That’s my aim here. To transmit a message, you need a message to transmit. You can’t transmit nothing. But also, it doesn’t have to be morse. The problem is that ED wouldn’t be able to voice over all of the possible messages you could type. Morse code is the only way to get over that problem.
  15. Do you ever get fed up with going online to generate a sound file to use for direction finding? If there were a way to have AI units transmit a message from the Mission Editor in morse code, it would be far less frustrating and much easier. In my mind, it would work as follows: When in the Mission Editor, you select an AI unit you wish to have transmit a message. You select the “Transmit Message” option, you choose a frequency, and you write in a text box whatever message you wish the unit to transmit. Then, the Mission Editor will automatically translate the message into morse code, and the unit transmits the morse code in the selected frequency during the mission, whether it’s one time, repeatedly, or tied in with a flag. It seems like a pretty simple addition, and it would certainly be incredibly useful and stress-relieving. I enjoy the Mosquito, and would like to make DFing a bit easier without having to going on Google and searching for a file generator, writing my message, turning it into a file, then restart DCS, then open the mission again, and insert the file. I’m sure mission makers would thoroughly appreciate this feature as well.
