investigating HMD symbology "chunky" and blurry
Simonster83 replied to Smashy's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah, blurry as hell compared to what it used to be. Flying in VR and HMD was super sharp but not anymore. Please fix this asap. -
L and R MPD DAY/NT/MONO switch bindings don't turn the knob
Simonster83 replied to Hotdognz's topic in Bugs and Problems
This was reported exactly one year ago, propably quite low priority but really annoying especially for VR users. Animation for the other buttons don't also work anymore.- 1 reply

Is there any benefit in upgrading to DLSS4 if I'm using DLAA? Headset Varjo Aero with 1.4 multiplier in focus region and everything looks really sharp as it is.

Corridor 302
Simonster83 replied to Simonster83's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
ok, I might have been too slow climbing because handoff has come before I even reached 20000ft. I'll try to climb a bit faster next time. I guess all headings in SPINS are magnetic headings and not true course? -

Simonster83 replied to Simonster83's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
on arrival I stayed on heading 302 in the corridor at FL150 until told to descend to 3000ft. I was propably a bit further than 10nm when arriving at FALCON but I think I was in the corridor because I flew right past Ceyhan as in the map. -
Corridor 302

Just replayed mission 1 entirely and got 97 points. Sadly I didn't save a track, but once again I did everything exactly by the SPINS and also made contacts when told to do so. I'm missing some trigger at some point, maybe it's in the departure? Should I first turn to heading 085 and wait a while before climbing? Now I started the turn and climbing at the same time after departure gives the heading and altitude. -

nullI'm missing one of these propably on every mission, but I'm not sure which one. Can you clarify the procedure because I'm doing everything by the book and still getting -3 points every time? -
Still playable in 2025?
Simonster83 replied to Viking 1-1's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
Oh man... because I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong with the departure and arrival procedures I decided to recap mission 1. I went along with mission 1 until airborne then quit and resumed with mission 6. Everything felt really bugged during the whole mission, I got strange master cautions and nothing seemed to work correctly. When I landed I realized that I got points for mission 1 and all my progress for the campaing was lost. No wonder everything was bugging really strange because I was flying mission 6 but DCS was thinking it's mission 1. I quess I'll just have to skip missions 2-6 to get back on track if thats possible? -
Corridor 302
Simonster83 replied to Simonster83's topic in F/A-18C Operation Cerberus North Campaign
Ok, then it's something else why I'm not getting all the points... can it be related to radio calls? I'm not sure if I'm using the correct radio (comm 1 / comm 2), but I do get answers when making the calls. -
Corridor 302

nullEg. is route over the bay ok (red) or do I need to fly along the coast (blue)? Does this affect scoring? -
What is the correct procedure to fly from gold corridor to 302 corridor when coming back from a mission? Do I have to first fly over the bay and then turn towards beginning of corridor 302? I'm getting points deducted but can't understand what is the reason since I've been trying to follow the correct procedures always.

Maybe I just suck at this, but it's happened already a couple of times... when there's two mortar teams to be taken care of, at the exact time I kill the second mortar team I get shot down from somewhere. Is there some hidden AAA group I'm missing or what?

I have not flown anything yet, need to try it this evening. But I played with the controls on the ground at it feels quite good. Analog sticks were quite good, not sure if I even need any curves for the axis. This way I can leave all the functions in collective and cyclic the same as they are in pilot seat and fly also from cpg seat easily. There are quite many duplicated functions on TEDAC and the collective, but I'll try to get at least the most used functions in this new controller so I don't need take my hands away from it to grab the collective unless really necessary. As for the bluetooth connection, I realized that I had a really good wifi/bt in my motherboard, just needed to attach the small antenna to make it work...

I did some bindings and decided to use both shoulder buttons as modifiers. This way I could add eg. FCR scan size and some other functions. Triggers are for lasing and firing, I also installed Antimicrox, it seemed to work well. @TopoSolitario are you using some kind of Bluetooth dongle on your pc and how are is the controller and keyboard working? Do you have any latency/delay? So far I've only tested with cables connected.
-
Ok, got my bluetooth keyboard and controller but do I have to install some programs to Windows and/or DCS to get these to show as a DCS controllers? Edit: I think I got them working and found a software to program the keyboard. It doesn't show in DCS as a separate device, but I don't think thats a big issue. Some of buttons on the controller did not work, need to investigate what seems to be the problem.
-
I already made an order for a gaming pad and macro keyboard! Just need to think if I should attach the controller somehow between my MPD's or not . Now the spacing between MPD's is good for the pilot seat where I usually spend more time. Maybe I'll just hold the controller when jumping in the front seat. I'm also only flying in VR, so I've been trying to get all controls as close as possible matching the view inside my headset.

This looks really nice! Can you share details on the controllers and how did you attach them to the keyboard?

By turning easy communication off, everything seemed to work correctly. -

Thanks for your help, I also had "easy communications" checked at game settings and I swear I unchecked that earlier. That might also be the reason for funny behavior on radios. Better to make sure on every restart that it is off as instructed. -

Haven't flown much of any older campaigns expect one really good one for UH-1H (low level heaven spring campaign). Maybe I'll try to fly at a lower altitude than stated at the briefing cards, I'll see if that helps with the mission triggers. I've set the the frequencies the best I can, but still sometimes they change during mission by themselves. And usually when Foghorn is supposed to change the frequency nothing happens. Can you explain what do you mean by presets? I have manually typed the frequencies for the different channels, but sometimes they don't seem to work. -

Mission "Heavy loads"... everything went butter smooth until final refuel after delivering last cargo. The fuel truck drove straight at me when I was waiting for the co-pilot to come back! I lost my tail rotor and could not continue. I hope I don't miss much by skipping the rest of the mission. It was a challenging and fun mission to deliver cargo at that location, I really liked it especially after I got my VPForce Rhino FFB joystick base and proper feedback for eg. ETL and VRS. And of course a correctly working force trim -
Bugs and Problems

Can I get a refund? I mean there's bugs and problems in almost every mission and if miss some marker the mission don't seem to make any sense. I just just flying mission 6 and saw firefighting ahead at DC, but got no radio messages. Killed the bad guys and started flying back when I get some messages that I should contact Widow. I think there's lot's of problems on every mission and radio frequencies keep changing by themselves for whatever.... It's supposed to be fun flying these mission but now it's just frustrating. -

Ok, thanks for clarifying the scoring. Yes indeed, it was a challenge to fly with zero visibility almost the whole mission and it's very easy to make too big corrections on heading and altitude
