  1. Based on everyone's experience, it seems that the best advice is to avoid taking your finger off the starter button until well after you've passed through auto-lean on your way to auto rich, and it's more susceptible to a stall/shutdown the lower the RPM. No longer having any problems here, thanks. I'll give you a new one, though. Instant Action-->Cold Start-->Nevada. I have been leaving my mags off for 5-6 blades of rotation then switching to 'both' to fire up. As I was troubleshooting my previous startup issues, I put the ignition in 'both' before attempting to start up in order to remove the ignition button as a root cause. Prop started to turn, but *painfully* slowly, with no chance to get it started. After more than a few failed attempts, always on this map, I tried cycling the ignition a few clicks while the starter was still held down and it sped up to the normal rotation speed.
  2. Warthog throttle has two "Engine Op" toggles which are 3-pole. Forward is spring loaded and you have to hold it in place. I made that the primer switch, middle is gear brakes 'on' and back is 'off'. Can't prime the engine without the gear brakes set
  3. Thanks all. Very helpful, and nothing to do other than be more mindful on the throttle advance especially at low altitude. The multistage blower in the F4U is definitely less prone to helmet fires, but I always thought the turbo in the trunk of the P-47 was pretty ingenious.
  4. Funny, on the first day, in the tutorial with default controls it started fine. Clicking on the mixture control, etc. Mapped the mixture to the pinky switch on my warthog and primer+starter to a switch on the throttle base. The model did NOT like the starter as a DX button, and once I eliminated that I *still* was getting timing wrong of the mixture advance and the starter release. I'm still questioning the advice to advance the mixture 'slowly'. If the controls are button-command-enabled that doesn't make sense.

Agree. "Zoom out" limit is not anything like what you can achieve with the other aircraft I have flown. With Track IR it *seems* that you get the best result from recentering with the zoom all the way 'In' then zooming out, but that's only a strong hypothesis atm.
  6. I was putting in a lot of 'Bolt/Double Wasp seat time in anticipation of flying the Corsair. I always had an issue with my Warthog throttle causing 'runaway' manifold pressure into the 60s at the upper end of the unit's physical travel. I never wanted to 'saturate out' the upper end of the axis mapping in the event I'd need it in ultra high altitude situations, etc. and never got around to testing that. Have any of you experienced something similar?
  7. Double Wasp was good training in anticipation of the Corsair, but getting into the 'Bolt actually rekindled overall enthusiasm for it, never mind Reflected's (now two) campaign efforts.
  8. Keep forgetting to sign in and thank you for the update and for your intentions on keeping CTS alive, HF. Thanks again.
  9. Just curious how users of CTS are currently employing their Warthog with the F-4E? Scripting yourselves, bypassing by going in-game controller settings only, etc. The diversity of button and switch states offered is higher than what I've experienced as a newb, but I'm interested in any and all feedback. Thanks.
  10. .TMC attached. Thanks. No need to apologize...life conspires against our hobbies on a regular basis. Just getting into the draft of the F-4 manual. Are you planning to do an update around release date? DCS_World.tmc
  11. Did you mean upload the dcs_world.tmc file? Can't find a .cts file. I did update successfully; did not realize there was a version.txt in both the CTS folder and the CTS\DB folder and I overwrote only the former. Since updating and rebooting the PC the TrackIR glitch I described will not repeat. That said, I did get into a state where Hat2 was taking me to external views in the F5 rather than Sight Mode and TMS. This also has not repeated in 2 subsequent sessions. My TrackIR is actually a V3 Pro from 2004 with the Vector upgrade (said I was getting back in to flight sims but I didn't say from how far back). Thanks
  12. Hello All, Have been enjoying getting back into virtual piloting with DCS and thanks, Home Fries, for all the work that's making my new Warthog an even better addition to the toolbox. I'm not clear on the recommended and current procedure to update CTS, particularly from inside the application, and am also struggling a bit with TrackIR center and pause execution. I am running 2.710 from a December download from the Google drive. Updated the version.txt to the version date stamped 12/27 but still getting the 'server not available' message for the VAF site TrackIR profile has the center and pause functions mapped to Ctrl-Shift-F12 and c-s-F9 as specified. TrackIR value set to '1' in CTS. the b30-31-32 modifiers are properly added in DCS per the CTS manual. I've been flogging the F-5E as my training a/c and am using v2.48 diff.lua's. Getting inconsistent results on the pause and particularly un-pause. Seems that S3-H1Right is un-pausing the TrackIR which is contrary to the 'Special Key Combinations' on the v2.48 mapping image. Would appreciate some guidance; thanks in advance!
