.50 cal recoil in the updated flight model?
Stevecat replied to Stevecat's topic in Bugs and Problems
Since the great Greg also acknowledged it I think it might be an issue. I tried speeding up on straffing runs but made it worse for some reason. Thanks for the feedback guys! -
Did some carrier "quals" today and just want to say the improvements to the flight model are very much noticed and appreciated. Thank you!! With the new PTO pack just announced I think it's about to get really fun with the F4U. Anyway one thing seems buggy, maybe not many of us use Auto Level, but I do like an IL-2 noob... to look at maps and flip switches and stuff. Anyway whenever you turn on or turn off AutoLevel the plane goes through what I can only describe as a total spaz out. Sometimes crazily oscillating the pitch with no end other than to reset and try it again. Hopefully just a tiny bug. my .02.

.50 cal recoil in the updated flight model?
Stevecat replied to Stevecat's topic in Bugs and Problems
I thought they were for dive bombing -
How can we get bombs to go off after 5 or 7 seconds not on impact?

DCS crashes when hard landing on Essex class carrier.
Stevecat replied to Jexmatex's topic in Bugs and Problems
I don't have a crash, but it looks like parts are flying off my plane when I land. -
I understand the flight model was tweaked a bit recently is this correct? Over ruddering seems to have improved a little but the pitch is still as janky as ever and doesn't feel like I'm flying a plane only 1k lbs lighter than a P-47. I know it's a big engine in a smaller airframe but it seesaws more than my Bf109. Just feels too jumpy. Also, does anyone notice when you fire all .50's the entire nose freaks out? Almost impossible to hold the reticle on target anymore. When ground strffing using the dive breaks helps but I don't think that was their intended use. Is that over modeled recoil or is it a PICNIC (problem in chair, not in computer)?

Mod Loading Help - Whats the best instructional video?
Stevecat replied to Stevecat's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Guys thanks so much for the advice. Been traveling but gonna try the tips this weekend. Many thanks again. -
Hi folks, Noob here just bought the F4U. No stranger to flight sims or mods but I can not for the life of me get Hawkeye60's WW2 Naval and WW2 Japanese Naval mods to load into my game. I downloaded OvGME, I "think" I'm putting them in the right directory file. But nothing is working. I know that in IL-2 there is a "master switch" of sorts to allows the game to use mods or not. Is that here in DCS too? Is there a video or a training guide you can throw a link to a new guy? I'm stuck. Thanks folks.

he4y guys thanks for the help and replies. Again I don't want to be a weenie on my first post. I don't have head tracking set up here yet. I used it for IL-2 with no fisheye problems there. But actually I went back to the normal keypad views. I know numpad 5 and Enter and returning to the normal view. Just not used to the fisheye when using the zoom slider. Hopefully it can be improved at least to the level of IL-2.

New to DCS so sorry if this topic has been beat to death. Got the F4U and the K4 Warbirds. I really don't want to play them anymore because the Fish Eye camera views suck and it doesn't look like there's any real way to fix it without learning to code. Hate to go negative right away but this should be pretty easy to resolve, no? If the lowly IL-2 can handle pilot views to scale, shouldn't DCS?

@Saxman I put the aileron trim on the axis like you suggested and that makes the plane so much easier to fly!! Thank you!
-
Thanks Rudel. Not working that way either. I need to go back and see why my Mods aren't loading into the game. I'll figure it out.

wow thats actually pretty cool.

I'm new to DCS and saved this to my DCS/Mods file like the posts specified. But it's not loading into my Instant Mission Planner. WHat am I doing wrong?

I toe brake successfully and have not had a problem with Taxi yet. However the toe brakes really bind hard and fast. Seems like they need to loosen up a bit.

Thanks Dr. Yeah I have my tabs bound to the left and right buttons on either side of my hat on the stick (Thrustmaster T16000). That way it's just an easy thumb click, albeit a constant one. And thanks Sax, I'm so used to looking at the ball in the panel I never thought to look on the sight! Funny, I never saw Pappy Boyington fighting the torque so much on Ba Ba Black Sheep. They all made it look so easy....

First time poster here! I scanned a few pages back for this topic and saw nothing, so I hope I'm not already beating a dead horse. It just seems like keeping this plane straight, smooth and coordinated in turns is a constant dance on the rudder trim tab. I always seem to be skidding. Are you all experiencing the same thing? Is there a method that works best for you that I'm missing? I am very curious to know because it makes this plane really hard to enjoy. And there is no power setting that seems to make it more manageable either. I'm a long time IL-2 player but got DCS a year ago to try out the 109K4. I kind of ditched the whole game because the K4 has no rudder trim, and it was a constant battle to keep it coordinated - the engine just seemed OP vs. the flight model. So probably I'm just a DCS noob and this heavy engine torque thing in Warbirds is just how life is gonna be. Or, maybe this is a bug that just needs tweaking? Anyway aside from that I really love the F4U on DCS and am looking forward to some of the other fine tuning improvements. Thanks everyone.
