Hi, I am a mere fledgling in this sphere so just count me as ignorant but learning fast. I posted on another thread as I was not aware of this one. Tried to Multiplay with others in USA /Canada from Uk last night and same problem. The trouble I find with all of these well intentioned fixes is that when I look at my Windows 11 Internet page it does not say the same and have the same headings. Therefore I am frightened to have a stab at fixing something I dont really understand or at least can "Parrot copy" and solve the issue. Maybe I am looking at the wrong page in W/11

Hi. Had recent issues so new `Windows 11 new complete game and all systems okay. All setting up done in house not Multiplayer. Went to connect Multiplayer today and could not find the site I wanted so left Multiplayer and closed computer. Re started one hour later and was offered a further update to latest 6818 98Gig and downloaded it, cleaned it, repaired it, reported all okay. Went to connect to Multiplayer and it says I dont have a connection and refuses Multiplayer and confines me in house with 2 1/2 hours. I am at a loss to know what happens next to try and make a Multiplayer connection. Any help vey welcome

Hey at last I seemed to have got this going again after 3 weeks ! Its probably my small brain that has been the problem bit I have taken notes for the future and hopefully I will return to flying the best plane I.M.O. with the best immersion so far. Hi both, I say both because you have both given the solution to the problem. Am I missing something regarding the set up of these screens. In the first instance they just seemed to work ( when the display position problem was solved). Now the columns are empty, so : 1 Where do I find the default files for each of three screens 2 I have downloaded some from the win wing site but they are modified I assume and my right DDI using one one of these does not set up the radar and RWR as I did before so I want the original un modified settings. Are they on the WINWINg site or ? You say maybe make your own but how please. 3 I have found that s/ap/pro is all okay in a retrospective way but not so easy for my small brain to get into from the begining. I am nearly there now as the download files work but maybe not as I want and thank you for your help and maybe just get me over the line with answers to the above Thanks

I have been into controls and selected the screens but nothing is there and yes they are missing . I have selected each screen and "RESCAN " but without success. Am I doing this correctly ? The Hud works , the stick, the PTO and Throttle all work its just the buttons. I have sent these pics to Win Wing and they will come back to me as I have re installed `SIM ap pro and uni screen display three times. As you can see from the pics they connect in s/ap/pro but not there in game

Hi, The stuff is never ending it Seems . I have totally cleaned my computer. Downloaded new Windows 11 and at last solve the issue of keeping display positions as outlined above. `This has really no logic but it at least works. Now I cannot get my screens to communicate with my F18 cockpit ! In SAPRO all is well and green on the left hand side but it did ask about checking the DDI screens to the right of that line for a while but all that is now green. Each individual screen checks out in the test page and the buttons register in that page . There were issues with left or right or middle screen but related visits to the menu and (part numbers to identify the screen) seemed to sort that out. Problem is when I start DCS the images appear on the screens and the are in the correct placing but do not have any button effect in game. They are just remote. The in game image does register to mouse clicks but a bit reluctantly after the start. Any ideas ? One day I shall be back to flying this stuff but not yet without some more hassle it seems

Well yes I did learn something today and I thank you . So I will go forward and pay for the 1 gps connection and look forward to the faster speed of download ( yes sorry ) . The lesson here is if the tech at DCS and the tech at my ISP ( which I spoke to at length again. again again ) yesterday had been so informative and clear I would have not wasted part of the precious years I have left stressing about this matter. Thank once again, I have my order re instated at my I.S.P.

Hi, Thank you for your interest and here are my results and the basis of my complaint. PLEASE NOTE TWELVE 99.NET which apparently are big data transfer agents. Very interested with any anyone in UK who reads this and can provide local download speeds. I re loaded the game two days ago and there was also an update I think as it seemed to just tag along. I was downloading from 1.30 pm from one day to 4.55 am the next. Is that acceptable then ? Or is that the norm ? The 71 mb upload is the speed available at my front door. I have a Mac and the PC hard wired to the the new replacement router ( in case this was the problem ) I use the Mac for everything except DCS which is dedicated to the PC. see spec below its not a faint hearted machine. I look forward to ordering the 1 G.Glass supply which is available within weeks BUT dont think this is the problem and I might waste my money.

Hi, This post is the only way I can see of opening a dialogue with the techs who handle the software download/team. I have this problem of a 9.3 mb download from DCS although my suppliers speed is 71 mps. Many months ago I believe a helpful guy sent me a mail about this and we started to try and resolve it but my e mail changed and I have frankly lost it. Is it possible for the appropriate person to open a dialogue via my e mail so I can discuss this problem outside of this forum please.

Hi, Problem solved with a return to a previous "Inferior power/grade " USB 2 hub that I had discarded to use a new more expensive 10 port high power USB S hub that in fact I now discover has caused all these problems !! We learn something every day ! David SOLVED

Hi all those that have taken the time to help me here. A lesson in hype and self deception regarding the supposed obvious ability for higher priced and supposedly higher powered USB sticks to perform better. 1. Bought ten port highest power USB C stick to ensure that my DDI's and some other W/Wing items were all together on the best functioning output. When I had problems I reduced the items to JUST the six USB cables from the DDi's only. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem of Window 11 keeping the correct place for the array of displays despite a complete re install of W/11 ( and everything that brings !). Some tech advice from the makers of my computer mentioned the "Why not try the original 8 port USB stick by Anker and although it was USB 2 its worth a shot ! It works reliably and despite my attempts to cheat it !! There is a lesson here and I am sure there will be many interpretations of that that lesson here but I certainly have my own. SOLVED

Rob 10 Thank you for your interest because the more info one has the more one can try and solve the puzzle. My CPU runs at 42 % and the GPU at 78% and meme at 95% mostly. I have new driver for GPU, Cleaned up DCS twice and use this machine for noting else than flying an F18 wit 64g men. Machine is 6 months old. yesterday after a flight on Multiplayer on approach the land failed to fill in and was just water and sound stuttered . This is not the same machine since MS update and I can se I am heading for a new install of this famous windows 11 prog if I dont get a better result soon. S/app/pro is behaving pretty much okay and the mod re the 0.03 to 0.3 has been done and fixed at read only so there is not much left other than a long hard slog to re install unless someone has a bright idea. Thank again for your help.

Hi, Battling along with this issue and maybe its confined to those that have three DDI screens because there are just a few of us and that requires display settings to be more reliable ? In my own opinion I cannot blame S/App/Pro which might be the obvious choice but in the end its receiving info from Wndows 11 and acting on it which its does `( despite the identity numbers of the screens being different to windows), Its Windows fault I believe and MS dont seen to want to fix it if the constant posts online are an indication. Even back in Windows 10 With that in mind I have decided to concentrate on trying to find a fix in the Windows registry as per enclosed. I am not a PC man I am a Mac man and need advice to whether this is possible using this advice posted here. ? : What are the EXACT words or values I type in the box to ENABLE the fixing of the display positions. Does this appear at the end of the text or in the first section ie REG-WORD does that now read REG-ENABLE or what is correct please All of this is really a pain because when working these DDIs are great to use and so quick compared with mouse clicking this apart from the realism of the whole thing

Hi it's good to know others have had this issue in a way and it's not isolated to my machine. Steam want £33.5 for a copy although there is a trial period so if there is a free program to do the job I would rather start there if possible. Since I am a naive on PC stuff but with this sort of problem learning fast is it possible to guide me through the registry process which sounds very nice and solid

Hi, They are plugged into the same hub and worked before the update okay. It seems the basic problem is Windows 11 is NOT retaining the screens as set in the display positions. This is apparent when I open the computer for the first time each time and the 3 ddi screens are located along the side of the main screen and not underneath. This means re setting and then doing the same in Sim App pro and then it works for this session only. I have uninstalled the display driver that is used by Sim/app/pro and reinstalled a new one but this did not solve the problem sadly. I am going to try a Windows re fresh install without losing my info and hope this makes a difference as I am at a loss now

Hi, Well its working on and off it appears. The Windows 11 display settings are NOT held firm from one start up to another. This throws Sim App pro into a spiral by re setting the screen layout and you have to go through the whole process of setting up again. I have done a cleanup generally with "Glary Utilities" and it corrects about 45 registry settings and some other stuff but no alarm bells rung. I was online on a server last night and could see the task manager showing 99% mem usage ( with 64 GB ram !) and CPU at 42% and never more. After a while , say 15-20 mind the sound started to get chopped then it crashed and the screens divided into a jumble not resembling the Windows set up screen at all. DCS goes from about 14 GB to 2 Gb when running with the above settings. This has not been right since the last MS update but hey if that was the problem then everyone would be bitching on here. I am using also a uni mask to enhance the displays of the Ddi's BUT this should not cause any of this as before the MS update They worked as did all of this stuff without much of a problem. I am naive on PC's as explained but it seems to me that there is perhaps a file ( maybe a Lua file that has gotten stuck o the wrong screen layout in MS Displays and I would like to remove it and then get it re written on start up with the correct screen format/layout so Sim App Pro is happy that it sees at least the same format each time and will happily load and run and not require a re set each boot up. Is there such a file and where is it please ? So what is the problem does anyone have similar please.

It also seems you have to run it for the HUD /UFC screen although it swims the 3 DDI' run without it or am I missing something?

Hi yes I have done that and read only It still appears to be using 80-90 % of the 64 gb of RAM though . Is this normal ?

Hi, I am new here especially to PC stuff ( normal Mac user) so I maybe naive in my thinking on this subject but why I am seeking guidance. Since the last update I feel my computer is not the same with a nippy cursor and quick shutdowns way etc. Also as discussed with a colleage some items in the start up and instrument dept of F18 are a little odd. Not though due to the main question here. However the basic question is : Do I need more Ram than the 64mb I am currently running shown in my computer spec and the task manager readings. Before I got the instruments ( 3 ddi screens and W Wing throttle, Take off panel, F16 stick ) it ran like a gazelle on heat ! Its not quite the same machine now but pretty awesome in the greater plan but has the addition of these items to the system shown a weakness. You must run Sim app pro for the screens even if you program the stick, throttle and to panel via DCS controls. My understanding is that when and if possible for the sharpest response RAM cannot be beaten. If the system is using all of the ram it writes to disk and back albeit quickly but not as instant as RAM. One chart show DCS on "ticker" so to speak and the other when full on with a second 27 screen to my right for Discord etc

Hi, Thank you for your help. This is where I am now : 1. Uninstalled both Sim ap pro and monitor link twice now. 2. Re installed above clean once more with no peripheral W/W items except DDI and main screen + 1x 27 monitor to the right of the main Coursair screen 3. Windows display shows as always has done main monitor 1 x 27" as 2 ... 354 as DDI screens portrait and full res. These had to be changed to 534 4. Sim app pro as shown here again does not show the same numbers. It does identify the DDI's as 10-12-11 as pic. The whole thing is different. 5. All menu items are green as pic and the system works with DCS running now. However although it's running, is it running without background correction and CPU time in order to get the screens to achieve the correct position? Why does Windows not show the same screen identifier as Sim app pro. Okay it's working now and does it matter but given my naive knowledge of a PC system asks, is this okay to ignore? It seems a trick not a proper process here but maybe I am just pedantic and should be a happy bunny that after about 8 hours thanks to the MS update I have something to work with.

Hi, Thank you for the notes both and yes an oversight in this matter. It's been at least a 6 hour event on and off and still not solved. I have reinstalled the display prog and Simapp Pro once and it did not fix it. So I am going to try again but the numbers for screen ID actually on the screens are different as well to those shown so a real mess . How can an update be so corrosive ? This time I will un plug all devices except screens and connect them again and see if I can at least get some sort of match. Thank you both

Hi, and thank you for your reply. I have checked the sim app Lua file and made it read write and line 19 set to 0.3. However the following tells the story I cannot yet solve. The MS update has disrupted the screen layout and it does not mirror or vice versa the Sim app Pro format. 1. Does it matter what numbers your screens are set to ? I assume the best was original where the main screen was 1 and others followed from there but does it matter as long as they are compliant with each other. In Windows and Sim/App / screen setup as yet I have not found a way to change the numbers of the sim App screen page so as to mirror Windows but could do it in reverse ? 2. I tried removing completely the Export Lua file just to see if it would re write another in its place with the correct format. It wrote another but the screen format was the same! How's that ? Presume its addressing the Sim app pro data not the Windows stuff. 3. When I first bought these screens I had to have a tech from W/Wing set them up and he had a similar problem complaining that the Windows screen set up was a problem and he downloaded a new one even though mine was the latest as well originally, but there was a lot of shuffling on the screen and hesitation associated with not understanding quite why things were going as he wanted but eventually it fitted into place and the only explanation given was a slight incompatibility between these programs. So has anyone else had a problem ? he said he would post a statement but not seen anything so far. 4. Finally my screens worked although out of order until DCS crashed and the cursor and screen froze . Reboot by pressing start button only rest solid frozen. The computer seems overloaded with tasks although this does not seem to be shown in the task manager screen but this has never happened before as its a new, good and powerful machine but I assume its because its computing different screens in the wrong place whilst its doing its other tasks maybe ? 5. Realised all my control settings are stored direct in DCS not Sim/App so thankfully not a problem there. So help still needed if possible please

Hi, I am a relative newbie to both DCS/ Simapp Pro/ PCs ( normally use a Mac thank goodness) and need help with a Windows update resetting my three DDI screens and the Lua file/ I will try to be as brief as I can so I apologise if it may seem very clipped. 1 Latest windows updates 50021 22/01 and 49624 22/01 . My computer seems to have slowed since these updates although this is a pretty high spec ( see below ). 2. My three Ddi screens have been working well and are properly identified by Simapp Pro until the above when SOMETIMES after repeated messing I get them from bleeding from top display monitor all over the three screens. Simply put the Lua file in Simapppro seems to have a different ID for the screens to that one before the update. Latest Simm appro update and all items are as well /up to date 3. I also edited the export Lua file as per a member on here to 0.03 setting to reduce possibilities of frame rate slowing. However I have lost the notes to get to this file but I believe it was via Application data. CAN YOU ADVISE ME HOW TO GET THERE ? 4. I cannot change the monitor ID's in Simapp Pro as I dont know how to so my theory is to: Uninstall Sim app pro and start afresh and have It recognise the Windows IDS and they exist and were before BUT I dont want to lose my custom settings for Throttle/ Stick/ T.off panel so is it possible to save these and re install them but change the monitor ID numbers. 5. Is this the best way forward given my naiveté with PC stuff . 6. If I could I would like to just change the settings in the Simapp Pro monitor page but I cannot find a way to re set them to either undo the frame surrounding the group or indeed the numbers on each monitor pane and the click apply So help if you can please would be much appreciated David
