I am with Zen Internet and have been for 18 years now as you can speak to a tech, unlike some others. I await my 1 GIG connection from Open Reach now 6 months of failed installation dates. However thats UK now ! I do not know how to do a DNS refresh so can you advise. I am using the connection that was given when you had problems with DNS and have not changed it as it works well for DCS generally Tried Duck Duck Go and got the same rejection.. Both my Mac and my PC are on the same internet connection !

Hi, I have a Mac and PC . I often use the Mac for the forum and log in without issues with a mixed cap and lower case password using my e mail. The Mac is running "Private relay" but has no issues to log on My Pc is connected direct to the same switch as the Mac and has no issues logging to DCS World games etc. However, I cannot log into the Forum from the PC despite checking the password until locked out and also observing the no caps lock ie all lowercase and I cannot understand why . Can you help please

So here is the finale : New power supply fitted which appears to fix the bios start-up problem plus bios flashing as well. Time will tell. All systems are working including now Streamdeck, SRS, DC Realistic and The Way . Yes I know there is a cartridge but this is pre flight as far as I can see and its useful to be able to locate a waypoint on the hoof apart from the HMD and Mark point of course. Finally just enquisitive as to where DCS stores the GIGabytes of terrains that I downloaded as apart from jpegs for the titles I cannot see them yet but your download may solve that as yet to be used Thank you again

Hi I am a newbie to this platform and chose the F18c because it had the most multifunctioning capabilities, including carrier workings. I must say I in part agree with some of the comments made above. Some tutorials just dont seem to work and the U tube brigade are usually years out of current date. Many are very good but some mumble and show out of focus cockpit detail whilst giving poor explanations. However I have been very lucky in joining up with a now good online friend who is an extremely good pilot and teacher and the finer arts of "Notching" and BVR radar have been given to me and are so appreciated. I am not sure I would have maintaned the momentum and bought DDI screens and UFC panels spending appx £1300 with a steel seating rig as well had I not had this very much one on one advice. I am sure there are many that have stumbled their way through without such a privilege and I take my hat off to them all as it is pretty hard work. I have the ability through age to fly 2 hours a day and you can pick out those that know what they are doing from the rest pretty easily. What about the setting up of your cockpit screens ? Overlooked by me before my tutoring but essential for good cockpit management in my opinion. Frankly the easier you make it the more they will enjoy and the more you will sell !

Hi, Thank you for the information and advice. I am definitely on the way to recovering and getting things sorted. I will do all of the above and report back when I receive my replacement power module which will hopefully fix the BIOS issue which is the last thing needed at this moment. However I have learnt a lot testing that with the makers advice as well. "Thank you" is a phrase I repeat again. One day maybe I can also help others but there is a long way to go for that yet

Hi, Thank you for the replies they are appreciated. I have not replied straight away because now I have a BIOS problem that has taken the supplier to analyze and re map a number of times without total success. Unless I remove/replace the power plug before boot up it goes to safe mode etc etc . It seems the power supply might be faulty and will be replaced tomorrow. I am learning quickly here !!! The unit is 6 months old and has enough power of processing and storage with graphics that astound. I have renamed the DCS saved games folder and done that successfully. I can play and DCS Realistic is now working. Despite my attempts SRS, The WAY and Streamdeck fail to work even with new installs and better understanding of the lua placements they still fail, but I will persevere. The question as to moving DCS to D drive seems pointless as you can see and probably already know there is not much of it to move IF THIS CORRECT SHOWN IN THE SHOTS ENCLOSED. I am astonished at the fatness of my C drive ! Is it full of terrain maps although I cannot see them there and would like to know where they reside anyway as there may be an off load way of storing them ( to be loaded from a holding drive maybe but thats my imagination working overtime here). So thank you for getting me this far and any further advice would be welcome but the road ahead looks better now after your helpful intervention.

Hi, I have two computer setups one Mac and a PC in a different location for DCS entirely. I would like to have the same password and login for both forum and the main DCS site ( for purchases etc). I understood this may be possible ? If so how and where do I set it as I cannot see such an offer in my profile or settings Thank you

Hi and thank you for the advice. I have a couple of questions and they may seem naive but its a knowledge thing yet to be mastered or understood. 1. When I rename the Saved games folder as suggested I presume the new one created will have a Config folder. Do I delete that and grab the old one and substitute it or is it not as easy as that. I do have backup of my settings for throttle/stick/ PO2 etc just in case and they reside on yet another TB disc with other items and I unplugged during normal usage so no mistakes !! can be made. 2. Is there any way you could help with a pre prepared file of the relevant export scripts and a tell me where to plant it so at least this is all working. I can then make a copy of this as a back up 3. C drive is now running the whole thing then all but a few bits and pieces and I presume all terrain maps as well ? It still has some space left but not massive. Is it feasible to move anything to D drive or is that ..........! I believe most of this muddle was caused by trying to initiate my Stremdeck set up and I got in a mess with the various levels and pathways. A good friend in the USA sent me a copy of his export script folder of course I used only items that did not refer to his setup but it did not work and he did not understand why either so it must have been placed in the wrong pathway or is this not a feasible way to go. He had one folder with all export scripts. Should I send you a copy of this ? I thank you for your help here anyway it is much appreciated. A lot of questions from a novice user I am afraid.

Hi, The fact there is minimum data on my D drive the drive where I had understood my main game and info was stored concerns me. Should I be right to be concerned ? I am in Uk so my replies may be a little late or early depending where you are situated. What do you think is the best way forward to fix the malfunctions. I have one basic question which I hope I do not have to do again and thats re install DCS. Should I have to do so I have many in fact most terrains and thats a lot of download time with my current speed. Hoping fo one GIG in the next month though. Question is it possible to download just the game and keep your existing terrain files which then become attached again in the future. Thus negating the long downloading of something you already have ?

Hi, Thank you so much for your interest in my mess !! I enclose the log Some screen shots of double export folders and some worrying duplications of folders. I hve two users it seems. The correct being 3491 and a second being DAVID BUTT ! Also my DCS game drive is D drive and there is not much on it ? There seems to be a lot more than usual on C drive . I have three TB drives so space is not an issue. Are you sure you want to get involved ??? I hope so as I dont have a clue how to solve this lot. Fortunately I can still play on Multiplayer but without the ancillerires listed above and one day if left like this there will be a really bigger mess I suspect. dcs.log

Hi, I am a Mac man and my PC knowledge is building with the use of DCS f18 which I am committed to with 3xDDI screens and all instrument panels from W Wing + Stick. I had an issue with my DDI screen set up which meant re loading Windows 11 and all things associated with it and thence Streamdeck which lead to many of the problems I have above. I got in a muddle with the scripts process and have created two such folders in DCS plus even worse two User folder now !! I need a tech who is really versed in all of what we deal with to come in and sort out my system and am prepared to pay for the right person but dont want some well meaning tech that has no idea how lua file interact with our software. The PC is totally dedicated to DCS and no other work is on there including bank. finance or sensitive info so its there but not working properly. I can play the game and go Multiplayer so not all is lost but no Streamdeck. SRS, DC Realistic. DDI problems are now sorted and a strict procedure is in place if things are not quite right but if followed strictly all is quite stable in that dept with re-shade working on the DDI screens. Can you recommend a couple of contacts that might help me please

Hi, Its been a time since I went back here but have now made two U tube connected videos of my problem. I had thought that the rear view of the rial when the Anraam is dispatched was only confined to Multiplayer connections and home based self made missions were immune. After quite a lot of use on different multiplayer sites the problem is not apparent on home missions but it is VARIED on multiplayer sites. Go there one day and it happens , go back later and it's okay. Go to another site on the same day with the same computer boot up and the same thing, varied and unpredictable. Its annoying because as you can see it disrupts the flow of multiple releases and makes it more difficult to ascertain if the target diamond or square you see is one you have just shot at or the one you want to next shoot . Hi, I have been given a tip by a flying friend that Windows does not like the movement of USB plugs from an original position. In order the attach a many devices directly to the motherboard ( especially it would seem the Win Wing DDI's `) I have been moving the leads from the original position, perhaps for instance where a lead was a little shorter and a bit tight and swapping them around. As you all probably know already and I did not, that this is a recipe for problems. The answer was the pull out all plugs and restart with just screen and keyboard and then carefully decide where each plug should be and then DONT move it. Seems to work and has solved my problem I THINK !!!

Hi. I have windows 11 running a 45 : Coursair screen, 27" Dell screen for Discord etc and three Win Wing DDI's for an F18 set up. I had to re install DCS because of a glitch in Re shade after the last small update. The problem was not apparent straight after but has since started an old issue of Window not retaining the screen layout of 5 screens including the DDI set up. Each time I reboot it moved the DDIs and the order of the DDI screens and makes them landscape and they need to be portrait . When I move onto SIM App pro which connects the screens to DCS I also have to reorder them and whilst the system works when re set this is not the way it should be. Any help welcome

Newbie and normally work on a Mac but play on my PC so not that eloquent with Windows stuff. I have a Coursair Xenon 45 capable of refreshing at 240 hz I have have 3 x Win Wing DDI's and all I can find is the resolution in the tech sheet of 1024 x 768 resolution I run Windows 11 and can modify my refresh rate via the system display screen, and I have a Nvidia control panel that will do the same. If I set the Coursair to 240 it seems to effect my DDI placement and messes up the screen format and of course I have to use Win Win Sim App pro to connect all of this. ? is What is the overriding controller for this set of units that I should aim to adjust as the root setting. Is it Nvidia or Windows ? Where should I start and work from ? Thank you David

Well I bit the bullet and re loaded the game and re set my settings and Re Shade and my DDI screens are now working. The Textures folder re appeared in Re shade, despite many re installs and deletions and re starts it never turned up in the broken version. Fortunately backed up my settings 1 April 25 !! There is a debate that one has to back up each item on the system but this was just a one click job and seemed to work fortunately . Yes it was boring and probably next time I will try and repair the game using the Consul if necessary before doing this again , and thank you for the advice all of you here. I am now downloading 4 hours of purchased maps etc and look forward to my new high speed connection coming soon . I wish DCS would fix the video output problem if indeed its their problem as the hassle associated with Win Wing DDI's would disappear completely David

Max, Thank you once again for help. I am not on Steam I have tried to update and it starts to check then bombs out so I have re set my Nvidia driver to the latest but to no avail. I cannot repair it without entering the game and it does not do start. It goes for about 5 secs then the blue circle stops and ends. This is what led me to think it might be Graphics as this is the time the Nvidia panel comes up to check log in I have manually deleted and used the Re shade install panel to try and remove everything many times . Also repaired registry and shortcuts and everything that Gary Utilities will offer. When you say re name the DCS folder what to ? I have copied my input setting folder which is out of date by about three weeks and hope to use this when this lot is repaired. I have to solve this as I need re shade for the DDI panels and this update as opposed to the last four set the Re shade settings panel without the four relevant shaders UIMask top UIMask bottom Tonemap etc were not there as before so I blame the update in my naivety ! Any further comments welcome. The only good thing this that "Openreach" the `Telecom provider sent me an e mail saying I will finally after 6 months have a 1Gig connection so future rubbish will just take less time !!! David If its true it would be nice to have this fixed in DCS and negate "Re Shade"

I am a relative Newbie some 6 months now. Fly F18 and progressing well. Fly with Win Wing DDI screens and after some teething problems all working well. EXCEPT that the updates require me to re install "Re shade" to enhance my screen brilliance which when it works it works well. However this update screwed my re install of re shade and despite removing/uninstalling it the problem now is the game wont start at all. Faced with a re install on a slow IP connection some 7 hours ! my question is despite me backing up my settings about two months ago I have made changes recently. So can I retrieve my settings from, or copy a folder with them in and replace it into the new download which seems inevitable please. Yes I know a lesson learned the hard way but is there a fix ? David P.S any chance of DCS upgrading their video output code and the necessity for such a work around ?

Hi, The original topic was closed and some time has passed but the problem still exists. I was asked for a TRACK and here it is. N.B. Its raw and radar is not setup etc etc etc just get in the air and fire 120 's at target and show what I see. It's so distracting as the flow from one box target to another is interrupted and then you press the wrong button but then you did not / or did you ??? I have been through all button settings on my WW Joystick and cannot find a double binding. I suppose the basic question is What is the view that one sees on firing the missile? What is its official title ? I have looked all weapon/target views and cannot solve it. Now if I go on a mission built within DCS with say a Sparrow it works perfectly. No disruption. It does not work properly on all Multiplayer sites I have visited . It did work once way back before say two updates . However I have even had to re install Windows 11 and DCS completely due to another issue with W/Wing DDI screens and Windows screen placement. Thats fixed now. So any help or ideas very welcome LastMissionTrack.trk

Hi, I did some looking for double bindings with some flying mates in USA tonight and none of us could find anything. I did a complete new install about two weeks ago when the DDI problem was bugging me plus a slow clean and repair and it was still there. UNTIL tonight when having decided to fly with it and sort it over time it disappeared and went to the normal shoot and return to next one mode with no Disney following of the missile. I have NO idea why it rectified itself and as you say double binding somewhere but its not obvious and has gone away so thank you for the attention and we all move on to the next problem as yet unknown. Hi, thank you for the interest. Here is a mini movie showing what happens when I release the Amraan . I am in a fight of four in front and I want to select fire, then my pinky button and fire, and so on, working my way through the targets as fast as possible then bear off with a trail of flares. All okay BUT every time I fire I get this view of the missile launching from the rail and following it towards the target. All very Disney but that My Movie - Small.mov means I have to reset my view back to the cockpit BEFORE I can fire again. Very time consuming and not wanted. I have tried to check for double buttons etc without success. Before my major troubles involving a re load complete of the game and Windows 11 about 1 month ago it started doing this and then one day it seemed to go back to the un animated process without the follow missile aspect. I Imagine I have set something that in both cases has been unknown by me but thats where I am now sadly.
