  1. It would literally be easier for me to say what I haven't used in flight sim gear instead of listing what I have used; so with that said; I haven't bought the Winwing or the new VKB so I'm not sure how it is poor in the control department. I've been playing A-10C with it since it was released and I find it easier to control by a long shot as opposed to the one from Virpil, Saitek, etc... and apparently the new one from TM now. It took some getting used to but instead of trying to jam it in or beat on it like a 16 y/o boy before prom night; maybe a little softer touch would go a long way. At least that is what works for me; YMMV.
  2. So what is the problem with the one with the little button? I have had mine since 2010 (serial number 01397) when the only way to purchase was the complete setup; but that's beside the point. I have been out of the flight sim world for a long time but even before now I have never had an issue with my slew control. So I am genuinely interested in understanding what the problem is with the old version. Hope you get your problem resolved.
  3. SOLD I will be happy to entertain offers on this lightly USED button box that has maybe 10 hours total in DCS. I have owned this for several months and loved using it but it has been sitting on my desk for 4+ months without being used or connected. I need to clear some space for another box that I am building. It was super easy to setup in DCS and the controls are extremely crisp and it is recognized immediately by your PC and is easily programmed in DCS without any problems. From the Ignition Controls Website: VR 2 (PC) Button Box Controller Special VR layout for intuitive operation. Separate control areas and carefully selected components. VR 2 button box is easy to operate and highly recommended for Virtual Reality enthusiasts. All components provide good tactile feedback. 32 inputs. FEATURES: 6 industry grade CTS288 rotary encoders 4 extra large pushbuttons with safety guard rims -easy to feel, yet not easy to press accidentally! 1 four way joystick switch - not analog joystick! 4 momentary inputs in one. Recommended for quick adjustments and selections 6 pushbuttons (3 x 2 group) Like WSAD and QE keys (or arrows) on standard computer keyboard. The combo everyone is well used to operate ;) 4 Momentary toggles - easy to distinct and operate even with closed eyes 1 Extra large push button with safety guard rim and red LED 1 non-momentary toggle switch (may require external software for proper operation - SVMapper/ Joy2Key / AutoHotKey ), 1 LED power on-off switch. Powder Coated, All-Metal Enclosure. 4 built-in metric M4 threads on the backside (Vesa 100 x100 mm) for direct hard mounting. 4. Nice option there. I have a Trackhat Clip Plus that I bought as a replacement for my TrackClip Pro. I might be open to selling that TrackClip Pro but it is used and does not close down on headset arms like it should right now.
  5. VNAO is always looking for guys that are wanting to get into the down and dirty aspects of the Tomcat. Hop into the Discord and shoot Splash a message and he will be glad to help you guys. https://www.vnaojollyrogers.com/ https://discordapp.com/invite/6BMSqWU
  6. PM inbound Waiting on an answer from Monstertech before I say I'll take them.
  7. Seems like a couple of us old guys are returning to the flight aim world after being away for a while. I'm in the same boat but grew up playing with a right side mounted stick in Falcon X.X and I played ww2 sims that way for years. I'm wanting to try the center mount but am running into issues with a suitable mounting system for my curved desk.
  8. Thanks Rob10 I'll keep looking around. I haven't had much time for a lot of things the last day or so.
  9. Looks like a brand new one just hit Mercari for sale. https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m72064803220/
  10. I had a backup monitor that allowed me to have two monitors for workspace and my primary monitor for gaming is a Dell 27" S2716DG that runs at 144Hz 2560 x 1440 resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio. I have been looking at picking up the newer Samsung CRG9 (https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/49-crg9-dual-qhd-curved-qled-gaming-monitor-lc49rg90ssnxza/) but wanted some other options on monitors that would work well with flight sims as well. System specs are as follows: i7-8700K 32GB RAM EVGA GeForce 2080RTX Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 lots of SSD's and a good old fashioned 1TB HDD Windows 10 64bit
  11. I've got some PTFE rings similar to the silicon rings he offers that I have had sitting on my desk since the first issues with the rings was discovered way back in 2011-2012 from the first WH's. I haven't had any issues and a guy from over at SimHQ sent them to me as a test bed should mine ever have any problems. Here I am almost 10 years later with the stock springs and no issues with the internals but I have also not used the WH for about 5 years until the last few weeks. Certainly interested in these springs he has for sale. Is there anyone with a spring option that isn't over $50 US including shipping?
  12. I used to sell things on Amazon but had them do the fulfillment side of it so I never actually touched the products once I ran out of the stock I had in my garage. So anyone and almost everyone is a "reseller" on Amazon....even Amazon themselves. As for buying a used one off Ebay. The last one I posted is still available and you can buy the SquareTrade protection as well. So you still have options with them. Also Dell is showing delivery of a new one by March 11th on my account when I put it in the checkout and proceed through to the end.
  13. These are the ones I found in about 5 minutes just quickly searching online. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/743173-REG/Thrustmaster_2960720_Hotas_Warthog_Flight_Stick.html/?msclkid=bb85b92fa6df1f991723e76c25b54f0c https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/a9168831 http://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/sep/11244 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Warthog-Flight-Stick-Joystick-and-Throttle-Quadrant/274258802310 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Thrustmaster-Warthog-HOTAS/402078604122
  14. ‘When the Hornet maxed out at Mach 1.6 (didn’t make its max), I was approaching Mach 2 and closing rapidly. Just as I was about even with him, the Hornet pilot, who was responsible for navigating, started a hard left turn without warning." https://theaviationgeekclub.com/that-time-an-f-4-phantom-ii-outran-an-f-a-18-hornet-and-zoomed-at-82125-feet-per-minute/
  15. I may still have Cubpilots email contact information sitting around in a notebook here somewhere. I'll see what I can locate and post it here for you if I have it. ---------------------------------- According to some research I just did on the SimHQ site it appears that Ernest (Ernie) "Cubpilot" Smith passed away around 2013. https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4375249/re-where-is-ernie-cubpilot-smith ---------------------------------- It still wouldn't hurt dropping into the SimHQ forums and seeing if someone has any information or a little help to give on this.
  16. If you haven't asked over at SimHQ forums there are a few guys over there for sure that have those types of setups and experience with the U2NXT gimbals.
  17. I'm going to fire up DCS and see if this is a problem for me as well. I have the TM Warthog with the T-Flight pedals as well but haven't tried the F-14 module yet so if something is different I'll post here myself soon.
  18. Not sure why I have never done this or seen this post before but I have one of the earlier versions from before they started selling them separately; won mine from SimHQ.com. Serial #: 01397 Location: Vestavia Hills, AL

  20. I did some digging and this is another option for those of us looking for another wireless item for TrackIR. I haven't seen one personally but I like the way it looks in the video on the Ebay site for build quality. https://www.ebay.com/itm/WIRELESS-LED-Clip-for-Head-Tracking-for-TrackIR-Opentrack-Freetrack-TrackClip/113745283228?hash=item1a7bbf489c:g:OzwAAOSw9vVc6RYn
  21. I have seen people make a simple angled wooden mount that sits on the desk at about 45-70 degrees (I am guessing here) to mount their MFD's to either right in front of their keyboard or directly behind it.
  22. Having played Arma in its various iterations for many years; since basically the first OFP game; I can say that the FPS side of the life is really good but they suck hind tit at anything related to aviation. The best thing about Arma is the modularity of the game itself and the wide variety of the styles of gameplay from community to community. DCS is by far the best flight sim for modern flight combat there is. To attempt to make DCS with CA an all around/all encompassing game experience would be a truly magnificent undertaking similar in scale to Star Citizen and even then the game would still take years to catch up with the newest tech. the TL:DR version is as follows... DCS don't screw up a good thing.
  23. Interested in the MFG Crosswinds Rudders...PM sent
