  1. For that I have to edit the missions (e.g. instant missions) in the ME, correct? And I can't do that for campaigns, right? I wish this was a global option in the menu. Or, well, they just fix the AI and let the AI have the same limitations as we have and bring up the Fw 190 A-8 to post-July 1944 standards at the same time.
  2. I should not have underestimated your dedication, haha. You are not the guy to simply convert missions to another plane. Sad that it's not in the plans, especially since we have a Germany map now which further down the line will also feature Belgium IIRC and winter textures. But back to the matter at hand: I've now purchased the Horrido campaign so that I have at least 2 voiced-over singleplayer missions for the Dora. However, I can't access them because I don't have the Anton. Is there a workaround?
  3. I wonder, Reflected, if you were willing to convert this campaign to the Dora. As another paid version of the campaign, of course. I just can't justify buying the Fw 190 A-8 only for your campaign. Its performance against the other warbirds (all late-war except the Spitfire) is simply too bad.
  4. I wanted to get into this plane so badly. Trialed it for 2 weeks, learned it, and was very much looking forward to the German-voiced campaign by Reflected. Alas, the plane simply is not competitive against the superpower AI. Not even the P-47-30! Sure, I am only getting into WW2 planes but I have zero problems to at least achieve temporary superiority with the Spitfire or the Bf 109 or even, yes, the Mosquito! And I seem by far not the only one having a problem with the performance of this plane. Heck, even the Fw 190 AI can't compete whatsoever against the other planes. Also, it doesn't help that the canopy shimmers and reflects like it was an attraction at the funfair.
  5. One of the best maps, in my opinion. Lots of user-made campaigns and high-quality missions already, paid campaigns already announced. It's beautiful even from low altitude, it runs well. There are some ugly parts but the update improved them a lot and the mountains look incredible.
  6. I have the same gripes with the campaign and ended up refunding it. 1. Advertising your other campaigns so aggressively was a mistake. The first time was irritating, after that (when half of the screen got plastered with the covers of the other campaigns) I was simply pissed. It was very immersion breaking. I even own the other campaigns, I don't need you to tell me to buy stuff. There are also much subtler ways to allude to your other work. 2. The constant intel spam by Arco1-1 was very annoying as well but from the other thread, I see now that this is not your fault. Still, this never happened to me before in any other campaign... 3. Like Lowtimer, I am not a fan of the missions being split into segments. I get the idea and after all it is a nice QoL but it really breaks the immersion that you just get dropped into your aircraft and you have to re-do all the communication channels, your set-up etc. etc. 4. Some voices were AI, I didn't like that either. From your reactions here, I can tell that you are clearly dedicated to improve your campaign. I will definitively rebuy it once that is done!
  7. Great patch! Looking forward to playing DCS for many hours tonight! Initial feedback: 1. Next time, please don't let us wait 5 weeks for a fix for something significant like the F/A-18C radar! 2. Give us a heads-up when EA period for something ends. These are 3rd party modules but we did get a Newsletter about the South Atlantic map leaving early access but Sinai was a suprise. Actually wanted to buy Sinai. It's just 10 euro more now but still... Might hold off on buying now, would have bought it if I had known EA was ending... 3. Please release the new A-10CII campaign as soon as possible on Steam. I want to buy and play it as soon as possible. (Saying this because with the F-4E Northern Defenders campaign it took a few days before it arrived on Steam). --> already released. Thank you! Thanks again for this meaty update!
  8. No patch for one month?
  9. THANK you for that, this makes so much sense now!
  10. Apologies for my ignorance but "pre-designate" and "moving targets" is a contradiction in my book. Can someone elaborate what this means? Do I pre-designate a target with an optical sensor (e.g. helmet targeting system)? But why would I then use non-predesignate for stationary targets?
  11. I never wanted to buy Persian Gulf or NTTR due to their 'outdated-ness'. Eventually, I caved in and I am glad I purchased both maps. They were cheap (on sale) and the amount of content you get with them (sometimes at additional cost) is very much worth the price of entry, especially as a singleplayer kind of guy. The training campaign for the A-10CII by Baltic Dragon for the NTTR map and the excellent Operation Persian Freedom for the PG map alone made me happy. However... This summer I traveled to Georgia and I was lucky enough to have a good look at it from the air: it was day and there were no clouds. Suffice to say, Georgia in DCS looks nothing like the real thing. Half of the landmass was not green but steppe, there were rolling hills everywhere, the Caucasus mountain range looked intimidating even from afar, and the terrain in general changed every few miles. In DCS Georgia is that flat, ever-green map that looks basically the same from the Black Sea to the eastern end of the Caucasus mountain range. And don't get me started on Tbilisi: even the rudimentary geography is incorrect. So while the PG and NTTR maps are great despite their shortcomings (southern Iran being a vast patch of emptiness...), the Caucasus really needs redoing from the ground up. It should look much more like the mountain areas in Afghanistan for the northern part and much more like a mix of Germany and Iraq for the heartland. Naturally, I jumped right into a digital airplane when I came back from my travels, and seeing the DCS version of Georgia just made me sad. I honestly think a rework should be strongly considered.
  12. I have two questions: 1. Will the additional discount for the Mig-29 on Steam automatically vanish the moment the module releases? (Might be a stupid question since it's a pre-order discount but I am still wondering.) 2. What official modules use the South Atlantic map, especially regarding campaigns? Are there any upcoming paid campaigns for that map? E.g. I know that the F-14 has a official campaign on the SA map.
  13. You got a point there. But both the F-15E and the M-2000 just sounded too good to pass. I also put some weight into both parties saying (one more than the other) that they are working in all earnesty to resolve the issue. There were also official words from ED that they were intending to make the modules work for a long time. So maybe let me rephrase my point: since there is no recompensation for a module suddenly becoming defunct, I am wary on buying more stuff from external devs.
  14. Hmm, while this sounds very exciting, I probably won't pick this up. I've purchased the M-2000C earlier this year for 55€. Now I learn that the module will be defunct past version 2.9xx (and it's already buggy btw) --- so I basically threw 55€ out the window. I am not sure why I should bother to invest in a new module from an external developer other than Heatblur.
  15. Patch today? I have a feeling there might be a somewhat significant update for my newly acquired Mirage F1... But maybe it's just wishful thinking.
