  1. Sorted, thanks! Anyone know what the "install path" is for DCS World now? I can't seem to add BS or A10C to my Helios profile, keeps saying "install path not found"??
  2. Played with moving the monitor arrangement around and it seems no config works, it will always offset the picture even if my 0, 0 monitor is the left-most monitor. It seems that the only way to avoid this is to use the total resolution of my monitors.
  3. Running a setup with 4 monitors - 19"-24"-19"-22". The 24" and 22" are 1920x1080, the 19" are 1280x1024. I am only displaying BS on the 24" and hope to export the Shkval and ABRIS to the 22" which is a touchscreen display for Helios. As far as Win7 is concerned, "0, 0" is the upper left of the 24"; the left-most 19" is at "-1280, 0". I've seen threads on this but they are old, pre-DCSW. Any help for the new setup? I've added a monitor config under /DCS World/Config/MonitorSetup but it won't show up properly in the game, no idea why. My cockpit view will start about 1/4 offset to the right, so the left 1/4 of my 24" will display my desktop and the cockpit view will fill the rest of the 3/4 and will spill over to my right 19" screen. This also displaces my ABRIS/Shkval exports such that half of the Shkval is cut out at the edge of my 22" touchscreen. Here is my .lua file: I suppose I can use all of my screen space, but then I'd have to mess with the FOVs and such so I prefer to keep it this way for now. Any help appreciated!
  4. Awesome, thanks!
  5. I already own BS2 on my account but would like to buy a second copy for my son, but he doesn't have an account yet. Is it possible to buy BS2 as a "gift" and then forward it to his account later? I don't want to buy BS2 and end up with 2 copies on my account. Thanks!
  6. Nope. Calibrated WH, still rolls. Slower, but still does it. Like I said, I don't need to do this on BMS, and never did this when I was playing DCS A10C a year ago. I'll just have to live with a bit of deadzone for now.
  7. Any version of Lock On, I would guess. eBay and Amazon are your friends.
  8. How do you "calibrate" the WH?
  9. I only use 1 screen. For now :D
  10. Well, the "fix" apparently is to put a bit of a deadzone on the roll axis. I put in 4 and that seems to sort it out. I'm not happy doing this though, as this wasn't a problem with A10C and it isn't a problem with BMS. Something is wrong somewhere, and it's not my controller.
  11. A few problems: 1. I use TIR, and changing the viewAngle from default 87 to 90 to 100 to 110, I've not noticed any change. I still have the forward canopy rails (the one in front) on either side of the screen. I'd like to "move my head back" a bit more and get more of the cockpit in view. 2. I've seemed to have messed up my HUD. In the SU-27, all I can see are my current airspeed and altitude, the desired airspeed and altitude are "hidden" behind the HUD glass and I need to move my head to see either one. 3. There is no way to zoom in/out of cockpit view with TIR and mouse wheel, but I can zoom in/out with the mouse wheel when in out-of-cockpit view. Any help appreciated!
  12. As the title says. It does this all the time, no matter the speed or altitude. I've tried mapping the TRIM functions to my TM Warthog Trim hat, no joy. My X and Y axis are centered, no problems there, and don't get this with other aircraft. Any help?
  13. Aha! Thanks for pointing that out. EDIT: Noticed some/most of the posts are a few years old. So I am still looking for an active FC3 squadron hopefully located in EU.

    Changing FOV?

Anybody? Nobody? I've seen some threads but they are 2012 or so and not sure if they still work with FC3 of if ED have changed things yet again.
  15. I'm not a big fan of flying offline and only do so for "testing" purposes and getting a bit of a handle on the aircraft. I now know how to do basic navigation and have had a poke at A-G. I am looking for a virtual squadron that flies FC3, flies the SU-27 or SU-33 jets in particular (maybe the MiG too, but that's for later), and is ideally based in Europe as I'm in the UK. Please post here if your squadron fits my description, but it also might be a good idea to post here even if your squadron doesn't... shall we make a list of FC3 virtual squadrons? If possible, including the following info would help others find their FC3 squadron of choice: 1. Squadron name and website link 2. Primary jets flown 3. Member base - EU, East/West Coast USA, Asia 4. Requirements for membership application 5. Offering training (Y/N) 6. Dedicated/Personal severs 7. Usual flight times (if you have any) or pickup flights 8. Person to contact for interested applicants Thanks!
  16. OOooo, nice! I'd say about 2 years.... :) If it's truly a DCS-level product, it'll be a good wait!
  17. Hmmmm.... okay.... so if there are newer "versions" of these aircraft available, then why do we only have old tech to play with? Or is this just because of FC3 being Beta? Or just because ED being ED? Would love to fly an updated Flanker!
  18. Not flown it personally but have seen the screenies. Very nice, but photorealistic terrain so I think would look odd during weather or dawn/dusk. Small(-ish) area to fly in as well, at least compared to FSX/XP10. Lots of YouTube vids if you want more "info."
  19. Coming back to the SU-27/-33 from Falcon 4 BMS, I cannot help but admire the Russian pilots of these aircraft. In the Viper, the pilot has so much information available to him via the two MFDs but not so in the Sukhois. Heck, having to remember what bombs is loaded on which pylon? :helpsmilie: No such nonsense for the American pilot! Another thing taken for granted is the Flight Path Marker, so standard in American fighters. I just realized that the Aircraft Datum only provides the pilot with aircraft orientation in flight.... it does not provide information regarding pitch or AoA at all. Landing without nav aids or PAPI guidance is very much like landing HUD-out --- the pilot has to "feel" for where his aircraft is heading and adjust, no HUD guides! Then there's the A-G aspect. The SU-27/-33 comes equipped with the latest MK I Eyeball technology in finding ground targets and bombing is done by CCIP or "consent-release CCIP"... no nonsense about ground radar, no visual ID via TGP! Either find the target then come back in for a high-angle dive or come in low and hope that the speed of the aircraft can compensate for increased vulnerability to ground return fire. I guess the Sukhois don't do A-G at all if they can help it! I've yet to try A-A, but I'm sure it'll present great challenges as well! As for the flight characteristics, the SU-27/-33 is very responsive, but feels a little "wiggly." I find that I need to adjust, let the aircraft settle, then adjust again, and so on, otherwise I'm fighting the aircraft and PIO a lot. Anyway, respect to the Russian pilots flying these aircraft. It's hard enough fighting in one, but when you have your hands full simply flying the bird.... OMG!!
  20. Hehehe... I'm not gonna do that until I at least get a bit of a handle on the SU-27/-33... at this point, I've just mapped my basic flight controls to my WH. Found the videos on YT though, seems like they're 3+ years old and were made with/for FC2. Seriously? Better than nothing, I guess.
  21. I just downloaded the FC3 videos from video page and noted that the "tutorials" are just videos.... duh... but my main gripe is that they are LOW QUALITY videos. Same issue with A10C years ago but luckily the high-res ones were available online. I've searched for these videos on YouTube but can't seem to find them. Any help?
  22. Holy 5-year thread necro, Batman!

    Changing FOV?

I remember digging into the various .lua files to do this, but with my haitus, I don't want to mess with anything without proper help. I'd just like to change the FOV to maybe 80 or 90 degrees, more once I go triple-screen. How do I do this again? Is it different for FC3 vs A10C vs BS2? Do I have to change FOV for each aircraft in the DCS/FC series? Or does modding one file affect all modules/aircraft? Thanks!
  24. Thanks again for the replies. I'm just trying to figure out the A-G capabilities of this aircraft. I'm not very interested in the A-A-only F-15 and the A10C is just too A-G-focused, so it'll be fun to be able to go up in an aircraft that can do a bit of both. I wonder now what the "max range" for bombing is for the SU-27/-33? Anyone know? Also, does the Russians have some sort of TGP and if so, can the SU-27/-33 mount it? I am guessing from your replies that the aircraft can't carry LGBs/JDAMs/wind-corrected munitions (Russian equivalents)? Just dumb bombs and CBUs? Thanks for the replies, much appreciated! Saves me from coming into FC3 with the wrong expectations!
