  1. Fired up some DCS action last night and found out that the gun pipper now has two dots -- a central one and another dot that moves. It stays more-or-less vertically down from the central one and distance from the central dot would change depending on how close you were to the target. Has anyone else noticed this? Why'd this come in on 1109? I sure didn't notice it in 1107 and don't remember it in 1108, though I've only logged about 2 hours in 1108. Is this real-world accurate? Thanks!
  2. No worries there cichlidfan. PeterP, thanks for pointing out Snap[11][13]. I didn't know they were KP Enter.
  3. Solved by lowering my seat by 2.5 inches. And can put the pedals far-back now. I would love to figure out a way to "bury" the Saitek rudder setup so that the rudders are floor-level. Maybe for a future build.
  4. avlolga, I just got them through eBay. Nothing special, just some bucket seats. Make sure you get one that reclines and that it comes with the sliders/runners. Ragtop, I've been playing most of my DCS with metalnwood's aluminum extensions. It's about 4 inches long, but just straight, no bends/curves. I was hoping that a curved extension will allow me to put the base where it is, but the stick ends up closer to my body. At the moment, this seems impossible without either having to make an ACES replica or dealing with a wobbly stick assembly.
  5. After a few flights on my cockpit, I got the feeling that there is something wrong with my cockpit. For starters, the Saitek pedals I have need to be as far-forward (towards me) as possible, else my shins would hit the front console when I put the brakes on. Also, my knees/legs would get in the way of my right arm. I'm thinking maybe I need to lower the seat a bit more, but has anyone else had this problem like me?
  6. Yes, I've configured my snap views to what I want it to be. I'm asking about the non-snap view KP5 and KP Enter. For instance, you start up the game and it gives you a default, non-snap (TIR working) view. But you decide that the view would be better if you'd zoom out a bit more, so you do fiddle with the zoom until you find one you like. How do you save this view so that you can get back to it later on, or even days later? Just as you can save your snap views, is there a way to save this non-snap view?
  7. When I start up the sim, it starts me in Pause mode but when I unPause, the view zooms out slowly then stops. Pressing KP5 or KP Enter resets the view to somewhat a bit closer. Does anyone know which entries on the .lua file corresponds to KP5 or KP Enter? I want to reset it so that these buttons give me a wider FOV than they currently show. In fact, maybe KP5 can be a guns-HUD view (zoomed in a lot) then KP Enter could be a wide-FOV view (zoomed out a bit).
  8. Mark it as SPI then broadcast SPI? Although I prefer lasing the target then getting him to track my laser.
  9. Lol, thanks anyways. Yep, did most of my "mods" by hand.
  10. "Extracting" the MFCDs work, but I've not flown with the in-cockpit MFCDs off yet. What's this Easy Monitor Config you speak of?
  11. Very nice input, much appreciated! Current problem I'm noticing with my stick is that with the extender, it is too "top-heavy" which takes a little getting used to. I'm sure the real thing has stiffer springs/hydraulics to compensate, but the TM Warthog springs can't seem to handle the stick being too far out. I'm thinking of raising the stick base off from the "floor" of the front console assembly, then going back to the 4-inch extender I was using earlier.
  12. Thanks Dark Eagle!
  13. Got it, nevermind. Still searching for how to turn off the in-cockpit MFCDs while keeping the "extracted" MFCDs.
  14. Excellent, thanks! I did not want to measure the pic because I wasn't sure if it was taken "square on" with reference to the stick extender. I was just wondering though, what "bend" are you talking about?
  15. Shameless plug there. :D But yes, +1 to what brydling has said. Although you might want to find out how much it'll cost to ship to AUS from UK.
  16. KLaFaille, thanks for the reference pics! Unfortunately, like I said, I am using a car seat which means I needed a different extension layout. I am curious though, how did you get those pictures? Do you have access to the actual stick? On the third pic, there seems to be a "joint" before the stick handle, does it move? Is there any way to calculate the angle of the curves/bends on the extender? danipelos, even though I used Dimebug's plans, the seat and seat assembly are my own and I am using a car seat instead of an ACES replica so my stick extension are as per the pictures in my post above.
  17. You guys notice one of the ground crew calmly walks up to the bag cart and picks up and walks off with the passenger luggage?
  18. I was getting weird errors on my 1109 install so had to delete everything on my HDD... Yep, forgot to backup my files. Anybody got a link to that tutorial about how to put the MFCDs on the screen and turning the in-cockpit MFCDs off? Any help appreciated.
  19. Thanks pcalvert, but that is a round-button push switch. I could use that, but also looking for some square-button ones. Thanks though, at least I can make-do for now.
  20. Wow!
  21. Thanks for that. Yep, while it would be cool to model the entire cockpit switches, most of them are barely used and would not warrant the cost of making it. Of course, if you had loads of cash and nothing better to do, then sure, but not for a hobbyist with life and a family. So, like I said before, I'm only going to do the panels I use a lot, which is the AHCP, CDU (very essential!), UFC, and maybe the countermeasures panel. The electrical panel would be cool too, but as I only use it during startup, well... Thinking about it though, I would love to make a pitot switch; I usually turn it on as I take the active runway, being able to flick a toggle rather than grabbing the mouse and looking for it would be great. And maybe a lighting panel as well, for realistic lights during startup, taxi, approach, and night missions.
  22. What exactly do you use the pots for? I know they can be used for volume control, but what about the pots for the Countermeasures panel knob or CDU knobs that twist but click in 3-5 places instead of the smooth motion of a regular pot?
  23. Thanks guys. pcalvert, much appreciated! Can you link the stuff you've actually used? One of my main problems with internet searching is that I can't really tell the actual size. Looks like they've got a better selection than Maplins as well! CyBerkut, thanks for the heads up on that one!
  24. Hmmm... at the moment, it's only DCS A10 and maybe Falcon 4 BMS. I'm not too committed to other sims yet to be bothered by non-compatibility with switches. Yep, two boards sounds about right for now. I see Mr. Bodnar's raised the price of the boards. Damn, gotta clear this new project with the big boss again. Requisition forms to fill out, favors to do... I guess I better get crackin' on the shoe rack and step stool :D With regards to push buttons for CDU/UFC, what do you think of this button or this other button? Also, if Helios can make an On-Off switch work with just one input, how about the On-Off-On switch (like the Master Arm toggle), will it require only two?
  25. I've more-or-less finished my cockpit layout and I'm now hoping to move from the carpentry side to the electrical side of things. I am planning to make the UFC, CDU, AHCP, Countermeasures, Electrical, and Fuel panels. I was just wondering how many Bodnar boards I will be needing for this project. On the UFC and CDU alone, I am guessing one board will not be enough? Just need to know how deep this "pit" is before I jump into it :helpsmilie:
