  1. That is something to be proud of, well done. it was fun making it was it not? My family thought I was nuts when I made mine, I couldn't make a full on pit, yours is close to it. I like your solution for the chair and pedal rails. I feel this is a solution for mine as well. Mine is in my album but its not so clean as this, albeit I had restrictions that guided my choices.
  2. Have you looked here? http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Virtual_Squadrons_and_Regiments
  3. To get your "own usable default view", will be a combination of the correct zoom and camera position set, then stored using Default view procedures. After entering the pit, "our usable default view" will not be apparent, as the "useless default view" will be up. We need to every time first entering the pit, hit the num5 (view center)and nument (zoom normal) to see "our usable default view". I've made a single button to do this for me. I need to look and see weather it was zoom or camera view that appeared to get stuck (not really) at its limits. seems to me its the zoom.. I should post my testing comments. I'd need to pretty them up.
  4. Sounds like a job for snap view, we need to find the thread that shows us what file to delete after we jack the views up.. because it will happen..easy to fix, easy to learn the snap view, but you have to fuss with it to understand it. try and use the directions in the briefing so you can see them while in the pit. you'll find there is a difference from zoom and camera forward. indicated by the ladder in the HUD vs. The front panel. do all this zooming while there is a HUD is up and running http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121093&highlight=snap+view
  5. This is a great opportunity, where were you years ago...hahahah Having been a victim of your most brilliant Flight maneuver class I recommend any 1st timer to this. I'll save you the bandwidth, but I'll show up if needing help with more 1 on 1.
  6. Tone,Supersheep. thanks for easing my worries. I'll try and keep that on low side... I'm digin your hog perch. some one else showed that off. Funny how its so easy to over engineer... but you did it clean. I made a chair and I was fussy about where I wanted the stuff mounted for comfort. it works well for me, and its adjustable. its not like a real a10 but I use the chair for writing these long replies..
  7. I think I'm doing something naughty, and I'd like to do it less obvious..hahaha. I noticed this under my status. I have some links from this forum to my album on this forum?. is this not a good Idea? or have you've perhaps seen my arrest record..ahahahah.
  8. This is a link to my alum it has a PNG file that I use in PeterP's excellent kneeboard, the knee board isn't required, but the PNG is visible in the briefing if added. this was and is handy as I can reference this while in "the Pit". this helped me train my self on how to use the snap view. look around some where here is a method to clear all back to default. I just don't remember now, but I'd used it when I jacked up my views. be sure to take notice of how zoom in and move forward/camera forward are not the same. I noticed that if I zoomed or moved camera too far, it would stop and if I continued to hold the key, it would require the same time of holding the reverse key to zoom or move the view again and start other direction. man that pulled some hair out.. Win Paint can open that also, I have a PDF version of it some where if need. http://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=896
  9. Dude thank you for that, you can tell it’s over my skill level at this point and I'll be back at this again shortly. Someone else will like knowing this I'm sure. I hope to be in a Squadron one day and I suspect I'll learn more there and as I fly more on line. Basically, I read it that there are many factors that are trained for at unit level. I see my ignorance comes from flying missions I've downloaded that don't have this briefed, it’s assumed I guess. I'll look back at some of the mission briefings I've read, for Air Corridors. Now everyone will think I'm gona shoot em down if not on my course...hahahah. Not to worry, me and my A10 try to avoid aircraft other than my own GROUP, but just keep an eye on me for a bit..
  10. PineFang, If I may be so bold, this is copied from AFALinebacker from the flight maneuvers thread. I need to learn how to put a link to another thread rather than the copy and paste to this one. "AFI11-248 for USAF Primary T-6 training is found here. Chapter 9 (pg. 15 covers fundamental two-ship formation. There are other goodies in USAF AFI's that can be learned here, and I highly recommend training to these standards when able."
  11. HA!!.. see what I mean...Sorry simis (I think...). and Sidjj sorry if I screwed up your alibi. I just recall chatting with "Sid" a lot. now I just don't know...AAAAaaaa...WHERE AM I!!!!... Still any one I talked to from that clan was most friendly and professional. I'll work harder on the roster next time, in my defense there was a lot of Commo on the one channel.. I kept interrupting the instructor <name please>. enough to work on Brevity. It'd be cool if each group had a channel, the group could be larger than a 2 ship also.
  12. BitMaster you are correct, Now my F16 never gave me much issues, it was always the software didn't jive with my hardware, I fussed with it for years an really didn't put the bashing on mine. it's true they had the issues I've read about them. they were pioneers in the field of "not your grampa's joy stic"... <awkward silence>. When the new one came out I was selling the farm to get it. and I sold the farm again to get the WartHog. I have with out question beat up the WartHog, the scripting is way better, there is some play in the stick left to right from center about 12 tics I think, the stick movement at the top is no more that half millimeter, but no dead zone. This lack of spring back is noticeable but easily disregarded. This flop as it were is more a result from the springs getting whooped from dodging the tankers.. its easily fixed, I just don't want to dismantle my chair.. the Hall sensors and buttons have had some reports, but again they continue to work great for me, way better than my old TMs. The Driving wheel I have bolts to the table in a jankie manner but sensors work great.. if I'm not flying...I can remember Driving it last come to think of it...I'll sell it!!
  13. Good find, that gets me too, it will not be our last either, I've learned to just check the flaps before I go in. Also when I take off I say over and over...gear, flaps, lights till I get them all in check.
  14. Disregard this for me till another time. Worth bringing up again, but not just yet for me, this is getting ahead of my self if this is worth continuing I'll follow it. for those that don't know, I've read where the IFF is not modeled in DCS, it be nice to rule out the unknown aircraft as friendly, this discussion should be about how to ID a contact visually or using AWACS. My self and another's are working on our communications in flight. I'll entertain you with my brevity code questions in a separate topic. studding one just brought to life another.
  15. I’ve entertained this question else ware, but thought I’d ask it here also. So, I was just cruising along and I was defining the brevity code “BANDIT”, this brings up a question. I expect a stupid answers to a smart question so please try to refrain. (Actually the hummer could be fun, so go for it..) I already know that if its shooting at me it’s now my enemy at this current moment, Friend or Foe. (I’d hope I had the skill to evade then do the assessment before I blacked his eye). SOOOoooo… There is a Procedure that we race through to elevate a Bogey to Bandit, before he elevates us preferably. That hesitation is a function of "The fog of war". There is an SOP that is done very quickly to designate a BANDIT. I realize it don’t mean I can prosecute it, only that this group or aircraft has passed all “criteria” to be a BANDIT. I’m sure this procedure/”criteria” has come in to question in many a debriefings. This is a massive accusation flung by a lowly wingman. We as leaders must trust he/she has done the quick steps to state their claim. This has to be a strict measure as we don’t want witch hunters up here. Again Soooo… what is “IAW Theater Identification Criteria”. In this conflict does all enemy where red, and all friendly ware blue jerseys???...heheehe. I could just see myself going Blind then Joining an enemy GROUP..hahahah I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but I really don’t think so, What "criteria" makes a BOGEY a BANDIT? Please, serious answers as best you can, or pointers to documents, or threads, or even keywords to search on, or even a u-tube, I’ll figure it out and write one up. <this was copied and spell checked from an earlier post else ware, it may look similar. I’ll update both with Smart reply's…perhaps even the jokes>
  16. Goose_Man's right. If you get a cheep stick and grow to like the SIM(and you will), you'll spend the money later on the WartHog and be happy you did, I love the feel of that cold steel in the morning... TrackIR and TM Warthog, Best sim buy that I made.....and well, DCS A10c of course.
  17. I had Issues with my Laze, I read some where that the laze will heat up and go off for cool down and come back up, I'm swearing I noticed this modeled, as I was "Both" at night with NVGs on doing gun strafes. my laze wouldn't work for the next path but latter it worked fine. it turned out I had PC issues unrelated to any of this. Sooo.. could you be lazing something too long? and it that even modeled???...
  18. HAAaaa, If no one noticed, I kept forgetting every ones names.. HMH you hung tight on those crappy 1G level turns. I thought you were funkster and I just left him. HMA I was sometimes confusing you with others and this didn't help us at all yet you hung in there, I tried so hard to stay on a prescribed Angles and Speed. We can only get better yea?. I've already ask for a plane on the 23 MAR a-a refuel. I hope to see you all there if not before then. Funkster, Brother,we need to work on our brevity yea??....hahaha. I was trying to Anchor when Orbit left my mind..hahaha... I learned a lot about my TAD, and the Instructor was brilliant I'm hoping to learn more from him again... Well done, The instructor(Insert name??)(I don't recall, I'm sorry) AFAlinebacker, Sidjj, are a tribute to your Clan. Sidjj was up there early and got some of us up and running. Thanks for letting us stay late after class, Sorry bout your planes AFA, we can buff that out...
  19. Silly me...March 23 is good for me. Like to day, 1400 EST was good also.
  20. I was at that party at the last moments and it was Fargin Awasome. Sign me up for the next one, this is on my calandar. I hope to be fueling by then. Axis Tuning seems to be the key here, but not too much. AFAlinebacker42, that was quality time...thanks dude.. I'm still reading chapter 9, and I'm working on my brevity codes...hooaha!!!
  21. I've bought Thrustmasters over the years. I started with the first F16 cougar when it was serial. Every thing I've gotten from TM was Top shelf, can't go wrong.
  22. You might consider TrackIR, it changed every thing. it may buy you time to same more money for a really sick monitor.. the Lillyput monitors with TM MFD bezels where big help also.
  23. What a great document, the study just never ends. Funk, thanks for volunteering for lead....Heeahee... I shouldn't be too bad. I'll be On TS NLT 1300 EST. I don't have TARS running yet, and I'm most certain it will not be used here. thank you for this opportunity, I'm really looking forward to this.
  24. I'm so happy my opinions align with many others this time..so rare....so rare... WHEN you get one get some ones script and reverse engineer it. you'll be even happier with the WartHog. then the "Pit" starts growing. I don't know how to add pic's up here, and I really like the pedestal that he showed us, that's more real than mine. I have a Coffee warmer mine...(not show). If I I'm kind of proud of mine. Its in my albums and I'm hoping this link will take you there. the possibilities are endless. http://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=894
  25. Am I too early looking for that manual? I got my self on TS Flight 2, I'm working on my Coms, If some one has TARS setup, I could use a partner in radio checks, any one is invited. I'll be working on my Arial Refuel but I'll have ears on TS. I'm Easter Time its 1210 now if some one has nothing better to do.
