  2. I made this small video showcasing the advanced damage modeling of the SU-25 and i posted it on "YouTube"...... There is no scenario,no story :D, only some great action scenes.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=qcGUwN7Q2TQ Hornet1a
  3. Yes it is an old thread but its still valid! I upgraded my computer this weekend=CPU:AMD64 3800x2(double core) , Mainboard: MSI K9n (Nvidia570 ultra chipset) and the CD version of Flaming Cliff 1.12a (from Natural Point) now hangs at 30% of the Starforce CD detection screen and after scanning the CD for about 2 minutes give an error message (did not write it down sorry!) The same CD worked fine and still work fine with the old AMD64 3000 single core computer,if this is an AMD double core problem i'm afraid that this problem will become worse in the following month.............. Eagle Dynamics and its Beta testers should look into this problem if "Black Shark" is protected with the same Starforce protection :-( Hornet1a
  4. There was a very interesting thread at the Lockon (LOMAC)SimHQ forum just before Lockon1.0 went gold (in mid2003) concerning the "advance flight modeling" Its now in the archives section, the link: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=106;t=001116 Here is a quote from Igor Tishin development manager at Eagle Dynamics: document.write(timestamp(new Date(2003,6,31,12,34,0), dfrm, tfrm, 0, 0, 0, 0)); July 31, 2003 12:34 posted July 31, 2003 12:34 Dear Sirs Let me put some light to this subject We are always working on improvement of Flanker(LockOn) FM and we have two approaches. First is based on the existing concept which uses few but very complicated dependencies, requires relatively small number of initial data. This approach is a very good since it was developed in a way that it can be improved any time we get more information. It is very convenient in situation, when whole product is complicated and we need to develop many aspects of it at the same time. We are using this approach in LockOn, improving flight models of all flyable planes as soon as we get the new information. The second approach is an attemption to use much more aerodynamics data with bigger set of equations. This approach is normally used for professional simulators and it requires a lot of suphisticated initial official data. As soon as we got such data for one russian airplane we tryed that approach as well, but unfortunately found out that official initial data very rare suite to each other, in other words, that approach needs a lot of work to preprocess the initial data with no guarantee, that result is good. As a result for one year of work a very first tryal version of one airpalane was developed, but was not tested enough, and even nobody could say yet is it better than FM developed by old approach or even worse. So, not everithing what is complicated necessarily better . Very often genius is in simplicity. But we continue working to provide you with the best of what is only possible on PC. can be improve The second one is an attemption to -------------------- Igor Tishin, director of Eagle Dynamics/LockOn development manager Hornet1a
  5. I used Rendersoft Camstudio 1.61 Air Tito but you need a fast computer to capture it at a decent framerate=AMD64 3000+ with1 gig of ram, i tried with my Celeron900 laptop and it was very choppy:-( Not sure if you can still get CamStudio now,my copy date back to 2002 when it was freeware! Also it will not works with Flanker 2.0 as it use DirectX Direct3d ,for that you can try the latest version of Fraps, the demo version can be downloaded for free but you are limited to 30 sec of each capture and there is a text message at the top(can be cropped out with Virtual Dub) Hornet1a
  6. Thanks for the hosting offer ThowasDweiss, i will probably make an uncompressed and longer version soon and upload it to your site:-) Hornet1a
  7. I just finished this short movie (1.32min.) It features the first simulator released by Eagle Dynamics in 1996: "Su27 Flanker" the graphic engine is now outdated but the playability is still great The movie link (right click and save): http://www3.sympatico.ca/stef.caron/su27mov.avi The movie size is about 4.7 meg and the codec used is Xvid. Sorry for the high compression (low quality) i'm limited to 5 meg. by my ISP storage space:-( Hornet1a
  8. Temporary fix for PF You can run PF with the latest drivers (in OpenGl) by forcing it to use 1.0 shaders by editing a line in the "conf.ini" file : Change the 0 to a 1 in the ForceShaders line= ----------------------------------------------- VideoSetupId=17 Water=1 Effects=1 ForceShaders1x=1 ------------------------------------------------------- The water will not look as good as with the 2.0 or 3.0 shaders but you will not have missing textures :) GeForce 6600gt with the 77.77 drivers... 9. This is a small video of the Sukhoi 27 smk flying display at Le Bourget airshow. As i'm only allowed 5 meg. of storage space by my ISP , i had to compress the video a lot, http://www3.sympatico.ca/stef.caron/show05a.avi You need the Xvid codec to view the video. Hornet1a
  10. Confirmed:Huffy codec crashed the Lockon1.1 AVI maker Problem with "Huffy lossless codec" confirmed! The record AVI option did crash on my system. Problem fixed :-) After erasing "huffyuv.dll" and the huffyuv.ini" files from the Windows system folder the AVI maker now works. Hornet1a
