  1. I started building an A-10 years ago but life / kids got in the way. Now I have time to put back into the pit my direction has changed and i'm going to be building an F-16 rather than an A-10. I'm therefore going to offload my A-10 stuff so I can fund the F-16 build. I have several panels form a various sources as well as forum members over the years and a bunch of accessories / cockpit related stuff. 2. Any of this still available?
  3. Hi,

Know i'm late to the party, but wondering if you sold your cockpit / parts.

If there are any bits still going they may be of interest.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I have not sold any of it yet.  Are you interested?   I am looking at selling it as a whole right now, but I might in the future piece it out if I can't sell it.

      Hi,

Apologies for the late reply. I havent been on here in a bit.

I'm starting an F16 pit myself so am very interested. However, i'm UK based so its probably not feasible to ship the tub etc (I also have Tee Jay's plans in the CNC shop right now) but if you want to part it out i'm keen in the following:

      Indexers
      Stick and stick mount
      Throttle arm
      Gear lever and Panel
Caution Panel (Most of the panels  actually)
      Ejection Handle
      EHSI

Let me know what you think and if you plan on parting it out.

      All the best,

      Jim

  4. I also have the throttle / stick available if you need a 'spares' pool.
  5. UH-1-Huey-Helicopter-Cockpit-Annunciator-Panel http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bell-UH-1-Huey-Helicopter-Cockpit-Annunciator-Panel/252585619358?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D37123%26meid%3D4dd00190d0f6431fb72c06004963b752%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252604567350 Looks like this guy has a lot of Huey stuff atthe moment
  6. Hi All, I'm having a clear out and have combat aircraft monthly magazines going back to Jan 2011 (with a few gaps due to toddler destruction). Seems a shame to put them in the bin and i'm too lazy to list them all on ebay; so if anyone is interested please PM me. Magazines are free, you'd only pay postage. Jim
  7. As someone with feet on both sides of the fence i'd argue it's a tough one to call. having played about with a DK2 the VISUAL immersion was stunning. Looking up at mountains as you fly low down a canyon is an unbelievably realistic and immersive experience, not to mention the fluidity of tracking an enemy during a dogfight (yes.. I actually hit something!!). BUT, then you have the 'where's my damned mouse gone' moment and you pause, lift headset, find mouse, put on headset, un-pause, click and you're away. it's a really jarring experience and ruins the momentum. The other side is the PHYSICAL immersion. feeling the click of a switch or watching a gauge unwind is not only a LOT a easier but also just as immersive in it's own right. What lacks in visual immersion is gained in physical and vice versa, so for me anyway, the jury is out. We'll see what the future holds but my question is when and where will the 2 meet in the middle to give best of both worlds? There is a thread on the pit builders forum where someone was trying a green screen setup to blend the image presented in VR so the physical pit was in the VR display as well. thats something i'd like to see mature / work.
  8. Hi Pappavis, The spec for the Shapeoko can be found here: https://www.inventables.com/projects/shapeoko-2-mechanical-kit-to-full-kit And a this guy gives a pretty good over view of assembly and usage: [ame] [/ame] I'm looking to get £200 - £300 for it (I honestly cant remember what I originally paid, I think around £700). I would stress that it is sold as a DIY kit and as such I had to put it together myself and it takes a bit of tinkering to dial everything in and achieve accuracy. It's also a starter kit so the spindle that comes with it is a knock off Dremel I.E. not too powerful but okay for engraving. I upgraded my spindle to a Dewalt router which makes a lot of difference (The Dewalt is not included as i'm using it elsewhere now). as far as software goes, the vendor have an online CAD / CAM package which is aimed at total beginners (like myself) and is free to use (https://www.inventables.com/technologies/easel). There are a lot of open source upgrades available such as dust shoes limit switches etc Although I don't know the total cost of these when you add it all up. If you want out of the box accuracy and all the bells and whistles from the get go, I would probably say this isn't the tool to use. If however, you want to get into CNC fabrication without throwing a lot of money at it, need a learning tool, and if you don't mind checking the machine for alignment every so often, then I think it's perfect. Jim
  9. Hi Mac, It's a good bit of kit. The learning curve is steep, but I think that goes for getting into CNCing whichever tool you buy. The forums are very good so certainly assist with learning, as well as a lot of good Youtube video on the subject. I wouldn't have upgraded to the X-Carve if I wasn't happy with it. And the main reason for that was to have a larger bed size to cut bigger pieces and more powerful cutting tool. If I dont get any takers, I may hold on to it and convert it to a laser engraver. J
  10. Hi all, I've just upgraded my Shapeoko 2 CNC to an x-carve so no longer have use for it. You can get info on https://www.inventables.com/. No idea on price yet, i'm only looking to see if there is any interest on these forums. It's located in London UK and i'd prefer collection (though I can accommodate shipping or delivery depending on location). Jim
  11. Likewise... I missed out on it as my boss interrupted my important ebay time :(
  12. Interested, but do you have an indication on cost incl. shipping to the UK?
  13. Your post caused me to sweat from my eyes a bit. Wonderful work on the seat, glad you are back in to the sim community!
  14. ok... Insanely jealous now! That does look awesome! Any ETA on the release date for the plans DM?
  15. Interested.. Late here now but will pm you tomorrow. Jim
