  1. 06 May 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We inform you again that the current DCS 2.7.12.23362 Open Beta includes two new campaigns that offer fun and engaging missions for the F-14 and A-10C. Enjoy! We are delighted to update you on the status of the pilot models coming to the AH-64D for the cockpit 1st person view. We understand that this is a highly requested and important part of the whole immersion. Check out the Development Screenshots. Development also continues on the TrueGrit - Heatblur DCS: Eurofighter. One of the most complex and cutting edge elements of this module will be the weapons systems. Please see the details below. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics New Campaigns Recently Added If you have not already taken the opportunity to download the DCS: A-10C Agile Spear Campaign by Combat King, you are missing out on a great way to expand your DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer enjoyment. Another quality campaign, if you own the Tomcat, is the DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm by Sandman Sims. This campaign utilizes the Persian Gulf Map and Supercarrier for a story-based DCS: F-14B Tomcat campaign that is gripping and highly detailed. AH-64D Pilot & CP/G Development Report In the screenshots you can see the Pilot and Co-pilot Gunner models for the first person perspective. We have completed both Multicam and USP camouflages and we are currently working on gesture animations and fitting the modeles into the cockpit. The basic movements for the pilot and operator are complete but there are still more advanced gestures like transfer of control, idles, working with MPD, etc. left to do. Please check out the Development Screenshots. EUROFIGHTER Development Report Considerable development time has been spent on reverse engineering and understanding the performance of the aircraft systems. Stay tuned for details. The Heatblur team continues to use CFD as an integral tool to verify and validate flight models and flight control laws. This is a key part of ensuring that the DCS: Eurofighter meets the high bar of realism required for an authentic flying and combat experience. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  2. 29 April 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We continue to push hard on the Viper and some notable changes include the addition of the Destination page and Offset Aimpoints that allow you to adjust and create Steerpoints without having to first select your active Steerpoint. Please take a look at Matt Wagner’s latest DCS: F-16C Viper April update and check out the details below. For DCS: Supercarrier and the free aircraft carrier, you can now land hands-free in Mode 1 or manually with assistance in Mode 1A and Mode 2. Please see the F/A-18C Hornet and Supercarrier ACLS instruction here. The latest Open Beta contains a substantial list of crushed bugs in addition to some super features such as synchronization solutions for Multi Crew on DCS: AH-64D. George as pilot AI also went back to flight school and has improved his flying skills. Please read the full changelog. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics F-16C Viper Development Report Additions to DCS: F-16C Viper include the Primary Data Link Track that increases your situational awareness on a selected datalink contact, improvements of Visual Initial and Reference Points, new delay fuze options, the addition of the TIME DED page, updated Cursor Zero options, more accurate Radar and HSD symbols, and corrected Maverick cursor enable functions. Please see the full change log for the complete and impressive list of improvements. If you have not already done so, please check out the Destination and Offset Aimpoints video and other F-16C Viper April 2022 Updates. F/A-18C Hornet Development Progress Automatic Carrier Landing System for the Hornet For nighttime and low visibility Case III recoveries in the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet, we have added the Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS) that incorporates the Link-4 datalink (D/L) that allows two-way communication between the aircraft, the carrier and the aircraft beacon (BCN). When used with Supercarrier, this allows direction to the Marshal Stack and Carrier with realistic radio voice communications. Watch Matt Wagner’s instructional video on F/A-18C Hornet and Supercarrier ACLS. Also please view the video of how to use the F/A-18C Hornet and the free CVN-74 John C. Stennis together. AH-64D Bug Report In the latest Open Beta update, DCS: AH-64D contains a number of autopilot features, Multi Crew synchronization solutions, and a welcomed list of fixes. For a full list of improvements, check out the full changelog. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  3. 22 April 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, This week we bring you a preview of the new features coming to DCS: Supercarrier. For improved night time operations, new deck crew gestures such as launch bar and brake release signals, light wands and improved shadows are being finalized. Heatblur Simulations will deliver an update to DCS: F-14 Tomcat in the next Open Beta. “Work continues with major improvements and additions. These range from visual features such as the new cockpit pilot models to some of the remaining key features including advanced jamming effects on the radar and associated displays”. - Heatblur Simulations Keep your eyes peeled for DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign by Combat King Simulations. This immersive single player campaign is engaging and fun. It’s a good way to sharpen your Tank Bustin’ skills. Enjoy! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Supercarrier Development Report An important and challenging feature of DCS: Supercarrier has been the development of night operations. Over the past year, we have been working on several aspects that will soon be released to Open Beta. These include new deck crew animations that utilize the new skeletal animation system, new animations that are specific to night operations and the inclusion of light wands. This will make deck operations at night much easier and more realistic. For the aircraft, deck crew and objects on the “roof” at night, we have improved lighting and shadows based on the deck and tower lights. We continue working on this feature to enhance performance and frame rates. Please note that deck shadows will be an option that you will need to switch on in the graphic options. On final approach, you’ll now need to contend with the “burble” effect. This disturbed air flow coming off the back of the carrier results in a brief partial loss of lift as you close in. This can make things much more of a challenge if you are unprepared. We continue to tweak this effect and you can expect the first iteration shortly. F-14 Tomcat Development Report Recently, DCS: F-14 Tomcat received an impressive update and overhaul to the autopilot and associated aircraft control systems. This has been a massive undertaking and will have a significant impact on your flying. Our aim is to provide you with the system as it would function “under the hood” in the real aircraft. This will generate the same effects that the real F-14 Autopilot would exhibit in varying flight conditions. The Tomcat’s development continues with improvement of various systems and the addition of some final features currently missing from the module. This all means the Tomcat will more accurately reflect the functionality and limitations of the real aircraft. If you missed it, please read more here. Operation Agile Spear Campaign by Combat King Simulations You will be Major “Took” Key, a Flight Lead and Instructor Pilot assigned to the 74th Fighter Squadron, Moody AFB. Lead the military response against the invaders. We truly hope you enjoyed this update and that you are staying safe. We are still working on these significant improvements which will be available soon. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  4. 14 April 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are pleased to inform you of further DCS: Mi-24P Hind progress. For the next Open Beta update, we are preparing several bug fixes and system improvements. Please read the details below. We are delighted to announce the AH-64D Livery Competition! If your submission is selected, your work will be included as an official livery for the module. You will also receive a free copy of DCS: AH-64D or any other DCS module. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Mi-24P Hind Development Progress One of the new features coming in the next Mi-24P update is the KM-2 magnetic declination adjustment system. With it, the Co-Pilot Gunner (CP/G) will have to dial magnetic variation into the KM-2 to get the true heading on the RMI. When the CP/G is Petrovich AI, he will automatically adjust it as soon as the course system "Greben" is switched on or if you start from a “hot” aircraft. A number of new keybinds have been added for all radios and some conflicts have been resolved. Separate keybindings for the CP/G weapons selector were also added. We have resolved several more frustrating bugs like the ATGM ‘SCHO’ selector panel between Multi Crew players desync and the rockets side selector bug. We addressed the Heading Autopilot channel bug that prevented the Heading AP channel from switching to idle and back to heading hold mode. We are currently refactoring the pedals trim system and pedals microswitches system. In the next development report, we will bring you the completed implementation of the R-60 air-to-air missile for DCS: Mi-24P Hind. AH-64D Livery Competition Using the official texture template found here, we are holding an AH-64D livery contest. The top ten submissions will have their work featured as an official AH-64D livery and will receive an Eagle Dynamics module of your choice. Here are some of the requirements and details: The livery must be created using this template. The livery must be based on current or historic schemes from any AH-64 variant. The livery must be associated with one of the countries currently present in DCS. Here are instructions for saving textures with MIP levels using NVIDIA Texture Tools for Adobe Photoshop. After submitting your file to User Files, please enter the AH-64D Livery Competition forum topic with a screenshot and link to your file. The contest will run until the 29th of May. All ten winners will receive a free copy of DCS: AH-64D, or any other Eagle Dynamics module, that can be also given as a gift to any DCS account. F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign by Sandman Simulations The date is 1998 and tensions in the Persian Gulf are growing rapidly. Human rights violations, brutal military crackdowns on rallies and the executions of political prisoners has led to U.S and EU sanctions against Iran. In response, Iran has been conducting regular violations of the airspace of neighboring countries and obstructing international shipping through the Strait. Despite attempts made to resolve the problems diplomatically, the world understands that the situation could get out of control at any moment. To prevent a direct military conflict, the 9th Aviation Wing of the U.S Navy is being sent to the region. Look out for DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign by Sandman Simulations coming soon. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

Community Multiplayer Training servers running PvP & PvE, Modern and Historic events are the way to go. Check out the 4YA Server Discord. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team WWII Marianas Development Progress Except for the presence of a naval administration on the island, pre-war Guam was basically a land of farmers and fishermen living a simple and peaceful life. The US territory of Guam and the Northern Islands, which are part of the Japanese World War I mandate, will be included in the initial Early Access release. A number of Japanese settlements and local Chamorros regions, as well as agricultural pastures, predominantly sugar cane fields, are visible in the Development Screenshots. The task of creating this map to match the visual quality and accuracy of the modern Marianas map includes new texturing to most of the land masses and creating countless new objects. It is a large task that is making steady progress and we look towards your comments. Syria Development Report In the coming Open Beta update, the DCS: Syria map size will increase eastward by 250 km to Deir ez-Zor airbase in Syria. A large section of the Euphrates River Valley in the eastern part of the map will be included, as well as parts of western Iraq to include H3, H3 Northwest, H3 Southwest and Ruwayshid airbases. You can also look forward to the Ataturk Dam and Şanlıurfa International Airport in Turkey. Also be on the lookout for the abandoned dirt airfield east of Sayqal AirBase and Tal Siman military base located to the north of the city of Raqqa. The Kharab Ishk helicopter base, located on the territory of the Lafarge factory, At-Tanf military base on Syrian-Iraqi border, and the oil facilities in Deir ez-Zor area are also included. The focus on the map update is to better support historic AH-64D missions during the war on ISIS. This will be a free update to DCS: Syria 4YA Training Servers 4YA Training Servers are hosting a wide range of PvP & PvE, Modern and Historic multiplayer missions. 4YA includes a community Discord group that is looking for more people to get involved, learn and grow together. Join the 4YA discord for events, missions, training lessons and fun! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  10. 04 March 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are excited to support the release of the Viper Orion HOTAS by WinWing. They have recreated the legendary F-16s throttle and grip that is based on the real-world version and uses mechanical movement. The next Open Beta includes the awaited Viper updates: Datalink communications that allows sharing of Sensor Point of Interest, Markpoints and HARM Targeting System emitter locations. More datalink features will follow soon. “The Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior project is accelerating, following a challenging 2021. The programming department is back to its original pace. Our partner, friend and company co-owner has fully recovered, a great start to 2022”. - Polychop Simulations Please check out Matt Wagner’s most recent videos from the AH-64D Tutorial Series. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team WinWing Hardware The Orion HOTAS is the most accurate F-16 throttle ever created for the entertainment market. It consists of a full metal design blended with generic use controls for a broad array of DCS aircraft. The control stick replicates the real F-16 grip and includes an optional attachment for expanded inputs. The grip also has a haptic feedback module. AH-64D Guide Available To give you a head start learning to fly and operate the AH-64D, we have released the Early Access manual. Please find the PDF document here. Spanning 361 pages, the guide provides a detailed accounting of all the history, sensors, weapons, systems and basic tactics of our AH-64D. The guide is a work-in-progress and as new systems are added to the module, the guide will be updated. We believe, more than anything else so far, that the guide illustrates the extreme amount of detail and care that has gone into this project. Enjoy. F-16C Viper Development Progress We have added BDU-50 training bombs, the Max Toss Anticipation cue to accompany the recently added Dive Toss bombing mode, the “Lock” voice message when you lock up a target in an Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM) radar mode, and changed the HMCS symbology for ACM Slew mode. Improvements have also been made to the G-onset and Instantaneous Turn Rate and are undergoing tests. We hope and expect to have this to you shortly. OH-58D Kiowa Development Report DCS: OH-58D Kiowa and ‘Barundus’ “The model is based on one of our main SME. Barundus will also speak voice commands for AI and in campaigns. We strongly believe this will benefit the virtual flying experience. Barundus has over 5300 flight hours and was an instructor pilot in the Bell OH58D Kiowa Warrior. He has been deployed to numerous combat tours and this will also contribute to AI behaviour. We have made the decision to present the whole timeline of the aircraft from 1984 till 2017 with some exceptions to avionics. This means the product will include the OH-58D Kiowa (no weapons pylons), the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior from 1992 till 2006 and the latest aircraft of 2017 all in one module”. - Polychop Simulations We look towards your comments on this promising introduction of DCS: OH-58D Kiowa. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

Recently, we have resolved a long standing issue that caused engine cut outs after long flights. This issue was most notable on the D-9 Dora and has now been resolved. The next step to improving the flight dynamics of DCS: Yak-52 are underway. Please keep a look out for the next Open Beta update to see these improvements and many other bug fixes. DCS: Supercarrier is making steady progress on the functionality of the Briefing room. The work on the Greenie board is finished and relays the actual information from the LSO station to provide live updates during the mission. Development Screenshots. We are happy to inform you that DCS: AH-64D has now entered Closed Beta Testing, this means that we are confidently moving closer to Early Access release. The initial feedback from the team is excellent and extremely appreciated, read more. We are also keen to share our progress on the Advanced Infrared Countermeasure Munition (AIRCMM). In addition, if you have not already checked this out, please take a look at Matt Wagner's latest video from the AH-64D tutorial series: DCS: AH-64D | Gun. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team Yak-52 Flight Dynamics As a result of the Flight Model enhancements, the aircraft will have more realistic take-off behaviour and better performance in inverted aerobatic manoeuvres. We understand that some of you have been waiting for these improvements a while and we thank you for your patience. Going forward we will address other tasks that need to be completed before moving DCS: Yak-52 out of Early Access. We very much look forward to your feedback in the next Open Beta update. WWII Engines Development Progress During the last few weeks, we have located and fixed a long standing and very tricky bug when the engine would suddenly stop after a long duration flight. As we can see the bug affected many warbirds but was mostly noticed on Fw 190D-9 Dora. We plan to include this fix in the next update. Supercarrier Development Progress The work is essentially finished on the Greenie board that is connected to the actual LSO station data, which provides live updates during the mission. We are currently working on the functionality of crew tablets where you will be able to see mission briefings as well as check and change loadouts. In addition, the briefing officer can control the projected picture that is visible on the main screen and choose what to show on the auxiliary TV screen located above his head. AH-64D Flares Development Progress We are pleased to share our progress on the M206 IR Decoy Flares that provide protection against air-to-air and surface-to-air infrared weapon systems. The Advanced Infrared Countermeasure Munition (AIRCMM) consists of the M211 Flares and supplements the M206 Aircraft Countermeasure Flares. The M211 Flares are specifically designed for low flying, slow moving rotary aircraft. To make sure you have not missed out, check Matt Wagner’s latest videos in the AH-64D Tutorial Series and get stuck into DCS: AH-64D | TADS Part II. For more information on the current Early Access release state, read the DCS: AH-64D Mini Update. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  13. 11 February 2022 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, VKB is preparing their new WWII lineup of controllers, which look very promising for DCS. It includes a radically revised KG12 grip and a brand new throttle lever head. The new version of the legendary KG12 grip is not a mere facelift of the grip that brought VKB's Gladiator joysticks to fame, but is a deeply re-imagined model that looks and feels richer with a more versatile set of functions for DCS warbirds. The new implementation of infrared (IR) thermal imaging in DCS is progressing well. The technology is based on a number of physical principles within the nature of thermal radiation and absorption. Please read the details below. As we continue to improve DCS core and update existing 3D models; we are keen to share the progress being made on the S-3B Viking. Please see our Development Screenshots. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team VKB Sim WWII Hardware A matching throttle lever and grip based on authentic designs of certain WWII German aircraft. It complements the KG12 and offers an unprecedented immersive experience when flying piston warbirds with the tactile ergonomics of that era. The new throttle lever and grip will be mounted on VKB's highly popular THQ throttle quadrants, part of the Gladiator NXT modular flight control system. Available soon. FLIR Development Progress Our new FLIR technology is progressing well. It takes into account how various terrain elements are rendered in the IR spectrum. This includes large masses of water, vegetation, asphalt and concrete that have high thermal retention capacities. These gradually heat up and cool down at different rates depending on the color and material. This leads to bodies of water and forests looking cooler during the day and at night time seeming warmer. Houses, buildings, runways and many other man-made structures often look warmer at night as they have absorbed heat during the day and are clearly visible in the IR spectrum. In addition to the dynamic nature of all vehicles and changing heat signatures, which are dependent on their movement, we will continue to tune the terrains, associated map objects and vehicles to bring you these enhancements in time for the DCS: AH-64D Early Access launch. We are confident that the new FLIR technology will be available across all compatible sensors deployed in DCS. S-3B Viking Development Progress The S-3B Viking is a carrier-based, subsonic, all-weather, long-range, multi-mission aircraft that carries automated weapon systems. It is also capable of extended missions with aerial refueling. The Viking was originally used by the U.S Navy for anti-submarine warfare, but it has also provided electronic warfare and surface surveillance for large battle groups. The S-3B variant features upgraded avionics: the AN/APS-137 inverse synthetic aperture radar, Joint Tactical Information Distribution System, and AGM-84 Harpoon launch capabilities. The aircraft has two underwing hardpoints for fuel tanks, cluster bombs, missiles, rockets, and storage pods. It also has four internal bomb bay stations that can be used to carry general-purpose bombs and special stores. We hope that this progress report was to your satisfaction and we patiently await your feedback. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

  20. 10 December 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are excited to share with you an overview of the new features that are imminently inbound to DCS: F-16C Viper. In the next Open Beta update you can expect the HSD Cursor, the ECM Pod, new air-to -ground features for the helmet and semi-automatic and automatic countermeasure programs. Also, look out for significant improvements to the FLIR picture. We now have considerable CFD research results for DCS: AH-64D that are being used for flight modeling corrections. Effort and time was spent on implementing tail rotor parameters, which have sophisticated the dependency on tail rotor pitch, tail rotor AoA, airspeed and tail rotor efficiency during flow deceleration in straight flight. Please read the details below and get familiar with Matt Wagner's video on the Basics of the Tactical Situation Display. We will continue to improve the FLIR image with the launch of DCS: AH-64D. Part of the process involves updating the infrared characteristics of all our ground units. Please take a look at the In Development Screenshots. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team F-16C Viper New Features We are now engaged in new features for DCS: F-16C Viper and look forward to sharing the details with you in the next Open Beta update. It is with great pleasure that we can guarantee you the arrival of the ECM Pod, a very much improved HSD cursor, new AG features for the helmet and semi-automatic and automatic countermeasure programs. Also, keep your eyes peeled for an updated FLIR picture. AH-64D Development Progress Dynamic Modelling Currently we have achieved satisfactory flight dynamics parameters resulting from payload, fuel quantity, aerodynamic surfaces (wings, fin, horizontal stabilizer) and main gear. Any changes of payload or fuel affect the center of gravity horizontally and vertically which in turn changes inertia, controllability and balance state of the helicopter in flight. Overall, the AH-64D Flight Modeling is step by step approaching an excellent level of “realism” and our SMEs are enthusiastic with the results to date. Each and every correction or modification step in the flight model (tail rotor characteristics change for instance) requires another run of the checks for balancing characteristics and flight dynamics. Because of that we are constantly doing test flights and correcting inaccuracies. If you have not already, please check out the next video in the tutorial series: DCS: AH-64D | TSD Basics. 3D Models Development Progress We have prepared a preview of the appearance of 3D ground units to infrared sensors. In the above screenshots, you may notice attention has been made to the signature of tires, which increase in brightness based on distance driven over various terrain types. We are doing our best to consider the shape and size of the objects, temperature, reflection of external sources. Infrared signatures vary significantly with changing season, time of day and engine loading. The guns, cannons and engines will also emit contrasting radiant intensities and cooling times will also be part of the overall FLIR improvements, coming soon. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  21. 03 December 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We would like to remind you that this weekend is your last chance to take advantage of great savings across our entire range of modules in the DCS 2021 Autumn Sale. Please note, the sale ends on the 6th of December at 15:00 GMT. The new pilot model for DCS: Mi-24P Hind is progressing nicely. At the moment we are working on the parachute, wristwatch and gloves. Check the In Development Screenshots. Today we would like to introduce our new AI aircraft Flight Model to you. This new FM, which we have named General Flight Model (GFM), will initially be rolled out across all fighter jets and then step by step to WWII AI aircraft. Note that our Helicopter AI FM is already flying with a similar GFM using Rigid Body Physics, contact model and complex rotor physics. This extensive development is still very much work in progress and we look forward to providing you more details in the new year. We are using DCS: MiG-29S Fulcrum C as an effective test bed for developing the characteristics of crosswind take off and landing, strafing, re-joining formations, general aerobatics, turbulent conditions and air-to -air engagement. Take a look at an example of the new GFM in this: DCS World General Flight Model development video. The lead aircraft is being flown by our Chief aerodynamics and physics expert, Dima ‘Yoyo’ Moskalenko and the other 3 aircraft are AI controlled. Did you notice how No 4 pilot couldn’t handle the super tight loop at minute 4:35 and got out of formation, into turbulence but still managed to get stuck back in? Enjoy! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team Autumn Sale Last chance Our DCS World Autumn Sale 2021 is coming to a close, so don’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of the special pricing available across all our modules with up to 50% discount on our e-Shop. Hurry, offer ends on the 6th of December at 15:00 GMT. Mi-24P Hind Development Progress Progress on the new Mi-24 pilot is going smoothly. In the screenshots above you can see flight gloves and a Soviet navigator's watch. In 1976, the First Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot Watch Factory) began production of a new stopwatch: the Navigator chronograph model 3133. This model was produced in limited numbers for the military and is currently not available for sale. We are also modelling the S-4U rescue parachute designed for pilots with a total mass of up to 120 kg. The parachute is immediately deployed after separation from the aircraft during horizontal flight at speeds of up to 400km/hour and at altitudes between 70m to 4000m. General Flight Model Development Report Before describing our new General Flight Model (GFM) for AI, it may be useful to review the development history of flight models in DCS since inception. Initially, we used a trajectory model called Standard (SFM) for human players and a very simple model for AI which used primitive laws of physics. Eventually, the Advanced Flight Model (AFM) and its successor, the Professional Flight model (PFM) were developed and the SFM was adapted for AI aircraft. Although SFM produces accurate trajectory parameters such as turn rate, specific excess power, flight envelope, etc. it suffers from a lack of natural short-period movement and switched models for ground and flight. Expanding the use of PFM or even AFM for AI aircraft wouldn’t be smart due to several key factors, notably AFM and PFM both require substantial work to create each individual aircraft flight data model. In addition, processor workload for runtime data in the mission would be excessive and greatly affect performance, especially when many different aircraft are present in the mission. The approach in our new GFM will deliver accurate AI trajectory performance and copy the PFM’s short-period characteristics from the player-controlled models that we already have. The GFM ‘pilot’ will use the same control surface deflection as PFM and can naturally stall and spin as well; the GFM also experiences air turbulence. It is interesting to note that the short period characteristics of the new models also naturally depend on Mach numbers. The greatest challenge when starting the work on GFM was creating a unique multi-level autopilot system capable of controlling any and all aircraft. Unlike standard autopilot programming approaches, which demand that each aircraft be adjusted individually, the new approach permits automatic use of aircraft flight parameters. This saves substantial time and delivers more accurate and realistic auto-pilot behaviour that is particularly appreciated for trans-sonic and supersonic regime changes, which now no longer require substantial tuning. This fundamental work required about two years of programming with formation flying alone requiring an additional 5 months of intense development. The main task was to teach the AI to fly correctly but not as a supernatural drone but rather as a human pilot would, including micro-delays, errors and limitations. Soon, every pilot can practice the formation lead role and develop highly realistic skills without having to play online and depend on inadequate wingmen to hone his talent. All ordinary tasks such as takeoff, landing, aerial combat, ground strikes and bombing were also entirely re-written. Implementation is expected during 2022. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  22. 26 November 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, Development on the AH-64D module is going well. However, due to progress on the “George” AI and flight control system components, we have decided to postpone the Early Access release to the end of January 2022. This additional time will allow us to further develop the flight control systems, hold modes, damage model, missions, skins and other items. As a token of our appreciation for your pre-orders, we are increasing your pre-order ED miles up to 8,500. We would like to share progress on the current status of the AH-64D Flight Model. We have achieved a good simulation of the powerplant and flight dynamics behavior when compared to the real-world data numbers. This machine is truly sensational! Please note that the Steam Autumn Sale 2021 has begun and will continue until the 1st of December. Come and enjoy up to 50% off most of our products. We kindly remind you that our eShop sale will continue until the 6th of December 15:00 GMT. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team AH-64D Development Report Powerplant The detailed model of the T700-GE-701C powerplant, its Hydromechanical Unit (HMU), and Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU) have been developed. This includes the compressor and its hydromechanical unit, compressor turbine, combustion chamber, and power-turbine. Calculations of the angle of attack on both the compressor and turbine blades allow us to determine dependencies between the power-turbine state (main rotor RPM rise or fall for instance) and the state of the compressor, which in turn affects the behaviour of the power-turbine. This allows our model to closely match realistic behaviour in the transition processes for speed changes, main rotor pitch changes, and anti-torque pedal routines. The engine, DECU and main rotor characteristics modeling have achieved an accuracy error of 2-3% for documented normal flight parameters and 4-5% for emergency flight regimes and environments (high temp. from 35°С and above as well as high altitude low density regimes). Engine, Flight and Fuel Pages The Engine page provides important data on the aircraft's engine torque, temperatures, RPM, and main rotor speed. The Flight page includes heads-down information on the performance of the aircraft with the ability to set important mission flight data. The fuel page includes an intuitive display of the fuel storage, flow and transfer systems. 24. 12 November 2021 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We continue refining our AIM-120 AMRAAM with much improved velocity search and tracking algorithms. This development should be available to you in the next Open Beta 2.7.8 update. In the new year, we plan to replace the entire line of pilot models for Russian aircraft and helicopters. This week we are pleased to share our progress on the ZSH-7AP helmet that will initially be available with DCS: Mi-24P Hind. Please check out the screenshots below. We are currently working on the TADS/PNVS combined sensor and targeting unit. This is a vital component of the advanced weapons systems on board the AH-64D and we look forward to bringing you the next lesson in the DCS: AH-64D Tutorial Series by Matt Wagner, coming soon. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Team AIM-120 AMRAAM Development Progress Thank you for your continued patience and support since the initial release of the updated AMRAAM model. This sophisticated weapon has demanded quite deep remodelling and debugging and we found several issues in the missile velocity search and tracking algorithms. We have also made substantial improvements to HOJ and visual modes. The next stages of development are realistic range gating modelling to enhance the missile's onboard radar to contend with strong ground clutter returns. Mi-24P Pilot Development Progress Progress on the new pilot model for the VKS and the Armed Forces of Russia is going well and the replacement of the entire line of pilots for Russian helicopters and airplanes in the early part of the new year is on track. In the screenshots presented, you can see the ZSH-7AP helmet for the MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-33 fighters with the KM-35 oxygen mask and the NVU-7 helmet sighting device. The helicopter version of the ZSH-7AP helmet is equipped with the DMSH boom microphone for the Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. AH-64D Development Progress The Target Acquisition and Designation Sight (TADS) is equipped with a stabilised daylight television camera, a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera, and a laser rangefinder / target designator for targeting by displaying video to crewmembers’ Helmet Display Unit (HDU) or TEDAC Display Unit (TDU). It can also be displayed on the Multi-Purpose Displays. The TADS FLIR can also be used as a Night Vision Sensor for night flying by either crewmember. This allows the TADS to be slaved to the helmet line of sight of either crew member for nap-of-earth flying under near total darkness. The TADS cameras have multiple fields of view that allow the operators to see large areas for enhanced situational awareness or zoomed in for precise targeting at long ranges. The DCS: AH-64D TADS FLIR camera is also being developed to showcase our new FLIR rendering technology that will provide a much improved and more realistic portrayal of the world as seen through infrared. This same technology will also be used for other FLIR sensors in DCS targeting pods such as the infrared-guided Maverick missiles. We look forward to providing you with a preview of the current progress in the very near future. Stay tuned! Thank you for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
