  1. Airbase has a couple of manpads and 2 SA-8's scattered all over including AAA's in 2 or 3 positions. Its suicide thats why I'm taking care of the low altitude threats for the tornados to make their run. I rather not use myself as bait after 20 minutes just trying to reach the target I'll do some more testing to find alternatives using the same mk-20 at low altitude as you suggest. Thanks!
  2. I'm stuck at mission 9 precisely because of this. The MK-20s have a TIMED fuse (The MK339) which you can't not change even in the mission planner. MK-20s should ideally use the FZU-39 or FMU-140 proximity fuzes, which would enable more accurate control of burst altitude so that your MKs don't burst open immediatly after drop. I know this is DCS issue and NOT a campaign problem but I would like to know if at least I can change my MK-20s for CBU-99s without breaking the triggers
  3. nullYou sequence is perfect. 1 is the carrier, 2 the point where you issue the radio message (happens automatically and simply says you are climbing angels xx) 3 is the point where the tanker starts it orbit, across the dotted lines in a racetrack pattern and with some considerable lateral separation, so you should look for the tanker with TACAN and A/A radar. 4 is your anchor point (you orbit it) 5 is BULLSEYE. Numbers in my image do NOT represent the actual waypoint number, just a way for me to identify them.

  5. Thanks! i really appreciate your message. It clearly seems to be something completely out of your control. I’ll rather wait until its fixed as I really don't want to skip any missions. In the meantime I’ll start the book and stop once I feel its at the mission 2 or 3 stage (based on the briefings it seems to be chapter 5)
  6. Same issues as everyone. I also tried all the recomendations, Tried a vanilla install, no mod, SINGLE THREADED. Same results. Noticed in the mission editor There are two Smoke with waypoints that take them directly to WAYPOINT 4 then another A/C which has the word SWAP in its name enters also in Waypoint 4. So, I can't understand how this could work for some people. Clearly they are not using the same mission I'm playing. I purchased Raven One, 2-3 days ago, has anyone that claims this works tried a vanilla install with the version downloaded from the DCS store?
  7. I have completed every free campaign in the user files section including the one included with the Hornet. I have no problem flying or using the advanced systems, but I've reached a point where I dont know what else to try.. something as SIMPLE as Mission 2... basic, straightforward. First, my wingman takes FOREVER to takeoff. I've tried waiting, taking off first, taking off almost same time (but never taking off AFTER him) in all cases when I reach the tanker and contact it I get the 2, your turn. BUT NEVER asking me to refuel.. I WANT to refuel. So, both times I've tried (not refueling as the mission wont let me) so I proceed to WP 4 as fragged. and my wingman SIMPLY dissapears... not shown in any map, radar NOTHING. Have anyone tried this campaign lately??? I just got it. Its my first PAID campaign after playing ALL the free ones and to be honest despite all the good things people say about this campaign I find it hard to believe I'm the only one experiencing this. Something changed probably recently that is breaking at least mission 2. I've tried it 7 times already and I'm about to give up
  8. am I the only noticing that since the last couple updates the radar drops STT contacts directly in front for non maneuvering targets very easily? also, trackfiles get dropped intermitently, this is for targets in FRONT of the A/C. I don't mind the extra challenge and stress but I don't remember reading any Radar changes in the changelogs for the last updates so this must be a bug introduced recently. Just wanted to confirm if this has been reported already. Thanks!
  9. 16:9 or 16:10 are simply minimun representations of aspect ratios. Simply DIVIDE the resolution and it will give you the 'exact' aspect ratio, so for example: 1920 / 1080 = 1.777777777777778 16 / 9 = 1.777777777777778 the lowest fraction you can use to represent 1.777777777777778 is 16/9
  10. I understand by reading the forums that in BS this was possible by editing the options.lua file. If the options.lua file doesn't exists in A-10 can it be created? and if so, where should it go? can someone post a sample one so I can test? I don't have Black Shark! but I would like to enable a custom res. 1280x720 in A-10.. Tks,
  11. Hmm.. you bring an excelent point. in fact, this could be the perfect excuse for me to get an iPad... I also sim a lot in FSX and having a way to look at approach plates would be nice... I'm all in for 'color'! so, Kindle is not an option. Does anyone here have an iPad and comment on how convenient it is for PDF reading? (Apple has a history of not supporting certain Adobe products, such as Flash) so.. I want to make it fully supports PDF reading on an iPad. Thanks,
  12. I've been considering taking the PDF to Kinko's and have them print it for me into a hard cover 'book' format but of my concerns is how 'accurate' the actual manual is, I mean.. I don't want to send it to print to later find out it contains many errors, so hopefully someone here will know how 'final' (not beta) this manual is. What do you guys think?

Hi, I noticed that when I start the A-10 sim, a 'launcher' or interface screen opens, and only when you start a mission is when the actual 'sim' runs (in another process) If I were to run the sim using an external program to control the affinity mask of the process, then this 'mask' will be applied to the 'launcher' and not the actual sim. am I correct? if this is the case, can we have some control on how the sim uses CPU's? something like a soft AffinityMask similar to the one in Flight Simulator X? My personal experience, particularly with FSX is that when you 'reduce' the number of threads you have a better performing sim and smoother experience, again, I said 'personal' experience, so I would like to see if this is also the case for the A10 sim.

  18. Hi, I read the FAQ, and I'm aware that this is not 'needed' for the A-10 to fly, however, it IS required in order to complete the start-up training mission. Is there any way to 'skip' the step so the training mission can continue? Thanks,

If you go to the NaturalPoint page and check TrackIR 6DOF compatibility for upcoming titles you'll notice Black Shark is included, now my question is this: Will it be possible to have 6DOF support for the other aircraft you can fly in Black Shark or you'll only be able to have 6 degree of freedom in the black shark itself?

  21. THomas, what I meant is that when using your FPS Fix all trees dissapear, you added or changed somehting in: MEinit.xml MECustom.xml Because if I replace those files with the stock ones I get back my trees. I just want to know what you changed to compare performance with and without trees.

  23. Hi, I've been tweaking and optimizing my lomac instalation the last couple of days. I was wondering if there is a 'must-have' list of mods that greatly enhance gameplay, either because they give you a performance boost or because they make the simulation even more immersive. So far, I've found the following mods for FC to be 'must-haves' at least for me. is there any other one I'm missing? - Water FPS Enhancement V2 by D-Scythe - Overcast Cloud Mod v.2 by Mitch Janssen - Zzzspace sound pack V1 for FC1.1 Does anybody have experience with this one? - Lock On 1.1 FPS Tweak v1.03
  24. Guys, I would like to thank everyone for the tips... I did everything suggested, installed Loman 5, played a bit but still was getting 21 FPS over highly populated areas... I checked the graphics.cfg file and I had a MaxFPS setting at 30 (which I added in the past) I removed that setting and there is NO WAY i go under 40 FPS under any circumstance now. Thanks to all
  25. Thanks guys, Downloaded and installed water and overcast mods with loman and there is a noticeable improvement, however I noticed that near cities frame rate drops to 6-8, if I look in another direction frame rate goes up again.. is this normal??
