  1. v4.2.2 of the iOS app is on the app store now! It adds better navigation between screens, some improvements to switches and a few other things. Next focus will be on bringing the Android app up to par with iOS!
  2. Hey folks, just a quick update on what's happening. There have been a few folks leaving poor reviews lately about the Android version not being up to par with the iOS version and I know I haven't been real vocal about what's happening so here's some info: Personal excuses - This project is a side project for me and I do have a full time day job. In the last 8 months that day job has taken a ton of my time as the company was acquired 6 months ago and the transition has been exciting and event filled but quite time consuming! That combined with a wife and trying to stay sane has meant that this stuff has had to go on a bit of a hiatus. With that out of the way, things seem like they're going to be toning down a bit and I may finally have some time to spend on this project! I have an update in flight that I hope to have out if not this weekend, next weekend. It will fix a few minor things and add a new way to navigate screens (swipe from the right to bring up the menu). This will be a test bed for navigation - if it works well I will probably incorporate it into the iOS app as well. So in the immediate timeframe I'll be concentrating on getting that out for everyone. Following that I think I'll concentrate on giving a quick update to the iOS app to squash a few small bugs there but overall it's doing pretty well on its own. Hopefully that will be a quick one! Maybe a little bit longer to implement some better navigation since the two finger swiping sounds good on paper but doesn't work real well in practice. Then we'll get to the good stuff. Following that I am going to first concentrate on getting switches functional in the Android app so we'll start to see things like LASTE and most of the cold start stuff. Following that will be dials. I will hope to have something available with switches this late spring or early summer. Anyway, just a touch base to let everyone know this isn't dead and I haven't abandoned anything! Thanks for the support and all the folks who do leave good reviews and send nice comments. They really do help keep me motivated! Enjoy and happy flying!
  3. There's no way to do custom layouts at this time. I hope to get all the functionality of the iPad app into the Android app eventually. You'll be able to perform a cold ramp start from the device. Unfortunately I don't have an ETA as I haven't gotten dials or switches working in Android yet and I have been incredibly busy with work and life lately! Hopefully things will calm down early next year and I can start getting some things added within a few months from then! A-10C is the only aircraft currently supported.
  4. I've found and fixed the orientation problem. It will be resolved in the next release (early next year, I hope). I'll see if I can narrow anything down on the inconsistencies with the CDU as well. For the time being, if you leave the iPad oriented so that the home button is on the right side, it should behave normally. The problem occurs when the home button is on the left.
  5. If there's enough interest I'd consider taking another stab at a Windows (modern app) port of DCS VC.
  6. Just released a server update that will fix the script installer for those of you who have relocated your Saved Games directory. You won't have to manually copy scripts any more!
  7. I've seen the orientation thing every now and again but I can't reproduce it on demand so I don't really know what to do to fix it. I'll try to look into the CDU freezing. There's a lot of magic going on in the background to try and keep things as fast and light as possible to get the best transfer/frame rate, in some cases at the expense of stability. Do you have the same problem with the MFDs?
  8. I would say that there's a reasonably good chance I'll try to make time to support the next high performance modern fighter released by ED!
  9. At this time I don't have anything planned. It's something I would love to do, I just don't have the time for it right now or in the foreseeable future :(
  10. Norton updated their rating of the site to safe today.
  11. For some reason Norton hasn't liked the site for years. As long as the SHA hash for the download matches what's on the site, you can feel safe that the download is ok. Just to be sure, here are the hashes: x86 - 8dae5a66e544c1e6fb23a07acefea1516665b0f5 x64 - 43df9471b1e8a2747c1fb4f85a087143efe7dcfc Edit: I've submitted the site to Norton for them to re-evaluate their rating. Previously that functionality was always broken, so hopefully this works!
  12. Guess we lost some replies, if anyone's still having a problem, please open a support ticket at http://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html by clicking the support tab on the left. Thanks!
  13. You can open a support ticket by clicking the support tab on the left side of http://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html I'll get ya taken care of there. Thanks!
  14. None that I know of!
  15. Some stuff like the radios and the cold start panel, pretty much anything that has a switch or dial. I don't have an ETA. I've been super busy with my day job since our company got acquired and I'm wanting a better way to enter frequencies than the iPad app has. "Dragging" dials is a novel idea but it doesn't work very well in practice. So, yeah.
  16. Can you open a support ticket by clicking the support tab on the left side of the page here http://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html I'll help ya out there. Thanks!
  17. Did you force a script update after installing? Try doing that. A new app for devices isn't required, just a new server version.
  18. Did I say end of the weekend? I meant RIGHT NOW! Go get your hog on! v5.1 supports World 1.2.10 (Whatever patch changes the aircrafts directory). Previous versions of World aren't supported any more, so if you haven't upgraded yet, don't upgrade the VC Server until you do. Enjoy! http://bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html
  19. Seems as though the change mentioned here is biting us. I'll work on getting this patched in the server ASAP. Expect something by the end of this weekend!
  20. Hardware interfaces for iOS/Apple devices require a lot of certification and whatnot, so that wasn't an option. At that point, I'd prefer to only maintain one code base for everything, so here we are :) I think WiFi works well enough providing you don't have a lot of other traffic on the network. I suppose it might be possible to do it on Android... Maybe in the future. Don't hold your breath, though :)
  21. Right now the Android version is missing some of the functionality that the iPad app has, such as radios and pretty much anything with a switch or a dial. You can perform a cold start from the iPad, but can't from the Android app. I'm trying to work on a better way to manipulate dials and such in the Android app, but I haven't had much free time lately so it's slow going. You need a black/blank screen area to export the CDU to, unfortunately there's no way around that right now since it's just how the sim works. Generally that's done with a second monitor but some people have gotten virtual monitors to work and serve the same purpose. Hope that helps!
  22. Yep, it should work. You do have to run the sim in windowed mode, not fullscreen in order for the server to be able to grab the exported pieces, though.
  23. Yeah, I believe Apple requires iOS 6 as the minimum for all new App Store submissions, so that leaves original iPad users in the dark unfortunately :(
  24. Yeah, unfortunately Windows 8 changed the way virtual displays work so the Mirage driver everyone had been using doesn't work any more :( Should work fine with both iPad and Android at the same time! Enjoy!
  25. For multiple displays, just drag the "Main Cockpit" area to fill all of your displays.
