  1. ah, well then at least ppl that do use modman know that they can install it with modman on both FC2 and BS
  2. Not required to drop them in manually. The folder and file structure of BS and FC2 (regarding sounds) are exactly the same. Install with Modman is no problem.
  3. It is already available on lockonfiles (that was quick) :D
  4. Maybe is uploading the package to virtual-jabog website aswell a good option for the people that can't wait? After uploading it is available immediatly and download speed is always fast on this website.
  5. Like I subscribed, nothing more, nothing less. :smilewink: Just to inform, nothing changes for you guys.
  6. Seen that Diveplane and I have a different idea of how we should be working together, I'm not supporting this project any longer. Good luck with the project Diveplane!
  7. Jetsounds mainly designed for airshows. Only compatible with FC1.x.x - Su-27 / Su-33 / Mig-29 - F16
  8. Fixed :)

  10. Would be AWESOME but very unlikely possible in Lockon....... But IMO the harrier would be a seriously good DCS series candidate.
  11. Please welcome the "Virtual Black Eagles" from the Virtual Flight Academe of Korea! Thanks <51>GRIZZLY for finding their website! Virtual Black Eagles NEW Country: Korea

  13. Yea speaking of the limitations, the new 3D sound engine makes the immersion and quality of the sounds much better (and also almost bug free). Still though, the new 3D soundengine is really only an overlay. A better name for the new 3D soundengine would be "3D sound processor". We are still dealing with the exact same hardcoded sound files that did not change since the very first LockOn. You can only replace these sounds, you can not make new sounds with new "triggers". We can only make the game sound fully real if ED (and they will with DCS:A10 and other new DCS series) codes new soundfiles with their hardcoded triggers. As example "Planewind". This sound will be hearable from speeds from ~60km/h up to unlimited. The trigger is the speed. Now, without going in to too many details. Real jets sound very diverse (like tens of different sounds in different situations). In lockon, we are basically dealing with 4 soundfiles..... PlaneFrontEngine PlaneBackEngine PlaneWind PlaneAfterburer And then, the PlaneFrontEngine must sound good both on the ground, and in the air, at high and slow speeds. PlaneWind must sound good at a cargo aircaft, aswell as a jet, aswell when the jet has the engines off. In short, we are very limited..... Hapily we can edit sdef files, with which you can edit the sound behaviour like ranges and angles a little bit, but that is in fact only for finetuning. We do the best we can with these few files, but only ED would be able to give us the ultimate realism, which is absolutely possible with the new 3D soundprocessor! (The future is bright :D)
  14. It will be for sure better than the original spoolup sound, though fully real is not possible in FC2 seen that the spoolup sound is basically the frontengine soundfile being accelerated from 0. But again, when real (high pitched static jet engine) records of decent quality are thrown in it will sound much better than the original.
  15. To all the people who prefer the so called "HQ" wav sound files don't really get my point. Sound processing in the sim is excellent and I bet you will not hear any difference between wav and compressed ogg. Things that really matter are the sound sources, in other words where the sounds came from (movies / other games, was it recorded with a high end mic?). And after that the extend of editing it had to undergo. In other threads people claim that they want to keep the "HQ" wav files from the original game because of their quality. Not knowing that some of the original sound files (like planewind/planeafterburner) are in fact terrible quality. And only thanks to the new 3D sound engine and processing the sounds sound "ok". I think making two versions of your soundpack is totally useless Diveplane. But at the end it's your choice ofcourse. Keep up the great work you are doing.
  16. High end machines probably wouldn't notice a lot of difference, though seen that you can't really tell the difference between wav and ogg quality wise, it wouldn't hurt to simply stick to ogg files. ;)
  17. Will you use ogg format for your sounds Diveplane? You could win some performance by using ogg for all sounds (for the ones that think that wav quality is better for gamesounds, I bet you wouldn't hear the difference if not told it is wav or ogg). Just a tip, in sdef files you can set ogg as a preference for lockon to use (just type .ogg behind the soundfilename in the sdef file).
  18. Rikus does have a point there. The only time I notice the details from ground units is when my FPS drop......
  19. Great movie! Nice music choice aswell :) Good to see you guys are training hard, the result is there! Keep it up! :joystick:
  20. The 3GO Cube Aerobatic Team has been added to the list of LockOn Aerobatic Teams :)
  21. Please welcome the "3GO Cube Aerobatic Team"! A new aerobatic team from the 3GO group that was formed in October 2009 and already capable of showing impressive performances. 3GO Cube Aerobatic Team NEW Forum Country: China

  23. Looking great! Impressive flying and very neat looking 3D model (obviously) So, you guys are a fully active team? If so, did you already think of performing at VFAT in december? If you wish so, I can add "The Cube Aerobatic Team" to the list of LockOn Aerobatic Teams. By the way, we already have "3GO SFT" in the list of lockon aerobatic teams, is this the same team with just a different name or? Please clear it up, at this point I have no clue where the 3GO Cube Aerobatic Team came from for a sudden. :D
  24. Seen the simplicity and limited sound files available in LockOn, it is not possible to make everything sound fully real (like we all wish). The only thing modders can do is replace existing sound files by others. Spooling up for example, is simply the idle jet sound speeding up from 0 to 100%.
