Nice try, but I think ED is never gonna answer this question. ;) But we all can guess ofcourse. :D I think the main money comes from military contracts.

Heya all, after more than a year DCS Black Shark there are still very few pilots taking a look in to helicopter aerobatics and team aerobatics. Here is a collection of helicopter vids (mainly aerobatics), might give some motivation!? :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSGNB6x-v7M

It means something like SWAT ;) edit: ah, you beat me topol-m. hehe indeed dirty minded though I wouldn't **** with them :P

Well I didn't understand a thing what he was saying at that time, but later on people told me that he was kind of "concerned". Anyway he was just an *** because he was not exactly friendly towards Sawamura aswell. Never the less, I had a great time flying! :joystick: :D

Well, it is both very similar and different. I was not used to the controls and some of the responses, but it takes very little time to get used to (I only flew like 20 minutes in total). Anyone with some Blackshark experience can fly this "real" simulator. So, in case you are going to visit MAKS 2011, go to the big white building, you can fly for free! :)

Details: :D (Sorry, no track ;))

Hehe I got two little videos of that taken with a mobile. Quality is crap ofcourse but I will see if I can dump that on youtube.

Absolutely true. I flew in a military Mi-8 simulator at MAKS 2009 and 2007 which has a similar trimming system as the Ka-50 and those springs are quite heavy (the way it should be). To give you an idea of how heavy it is, when I pressed the trim button I gave unwilling control inputs because the pressure was released very rapidly and my arms were still forcing the stick in that direction. In 2007 I still had no clue how these trim systems worked and I thought, damn...."this sucks" lol. In 2009 I had one year DCS Blackshark experience and it showed. I was flying aerobatics in a Mi-8! :D (the instructor was scared since I was not exactly gentle with the controls but heck, I had a great time!) :joystick: :D

Trimmers are not used during this display, more or less because it all goes too quick to apply trim and "muscular memory" is lost a bit since every time you trim the outcome is a somewhat different. In reality they do use trim, also at displays, though the X52 Pro is quite a bit easier to slam around compared with the real thing ofcourse. :joystick: :D

The "click/clack" you hear comes from my Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals. ;)
-
I have Bank Hold and Pitch Hold on, everything else off. This doesn't mean though that this is the best mode for you, it is rather a preference. All maneuvers can be flown with Flight Director on aswell.
-
Well that is very simple, all default.... In my opinion you should not use curves. It is a helicopter and the stick center is relayed on the curve every time you trim. The same counts for deadzones though older joysticks with a lot of center play may require some deadzone on the roll and rudder axis.

I just implented the raw "cockpit" footage. Hope that helps for ya A.S :D (but man, get BS finally will ya, it is fun to fly!) :joystick:
-
can you get bs running like lockon fc? is that so hard?
Frazer replied to sage0030's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It is true that Blackshark, no matter patched or not, runs like **** (excuse me) compared with LockOn FC.......and LockOn FC only uses one core ......I really hope that FC 2.0 runs as good as FC 1.12. Another thing, this is OT though, the netcode in BS also seems not as good as in LockOn FC...... But owell, when LockOn came out it was almost impossible to play. And I have to admid, I love ED anyway. :D -
What I'm doing wrong? Overspeed/blades brokens :(..

The track can be downloaded here. -
I flew my upgraded demo today, the track can be downloaded here.

I flew the new 2010 demo today with some upgraded maneuvers over the 2008 display. My team mate Sawamura visited my house and brought his new camera and so we recorded the flight from the desk. We plan to make a new video from this demo in the same style as the so called "Frazer Demo", created by EvilBivol-1. For now, enjoy the track. :) Frazer Demo 2.trk

Bullit is probably thinking.......Where the hell did I end up  :D

Thanks for the compliment :) What was used to film that? I do not know what software was used to record and edit this movie, since I did not create the movie, EvilBivol-1 did. Most likely it would be fraps for recording, and vegas for editing. What flight control system do you use? X52 Pro, Saitek Pro Pedals, TrackIR 4 Pro. Any other control system nowdays will be good enough percision wise. Rudder pedals makes it a bit easier compared with using a joystick twister, though certainly not required. TrackIR is highly recommended for situation awareness. What were your autopilot/stabilization modes set to? Bank Hold & Pitch Hold, everything else off. Note: On some maneuvers the flight director may be a better choise, and the other way around aswell. I have chosen to fly this way, though some may experience better results with flight director on. Do you use default joystick calibrations/deadzones? Yes In my opinion you should not use curves. It is a helicopter and the curve center is relayed every time you trim, putting the center at a different point on the curve. The same counts for deadzones though some older joysticks with a lot of center play may require some deadzone. If you produce another demo, could you activate the trim indicator to show your flight control positions? I'm not sure, with any new movie a track will also be released. If you can activate the "show controls" on the track replay, it would be better (good point, I will test that). Still though, from looking at control inputs you will not learn much since it is very difficult to translate that to your own control inputs. Looking at how the maneuver should look like from inside the cockpit and the parameters like speed and attitudes is more useful. Download the movie in high quality here. -
I think you didn't offend anyone, everyone is just eager to find out details which is good ofcourse. But sometimes it is better to keep it stupid and simple :D You mean you have game freezes on crashes, more with the 1.0.1c patch as with 1.0? From what I remember, this happens in both 1.0 and 1.0.1c.

Happens sometimes, though it's very rare for me.

Clear the axis and then click add, move the axis on your hotas and it will recognize the axis you are moving. Then press ok and thats it ;)

It is possible to do crazy maneuvers with the shark but only if you know how. The magic answer, every time you make crazy maneuvers which stress the blades, drop down your collective and you will do fine in most cases. -
Don't worry, it will fly :joystick:
