Sound triggers in game are hard coded as far as I know. So, it is not possible to add sounds, you can only change the existing sounds.

Seen that there are pictures in the tweakguide, no. I see that word files give problems for some people, so I will make the official versions in to PDF format (Adobe reader is freeware). Don't bother yourself with tweaking any longer, go fly. :pilotfly: ;)

Allright, here is the alpha version of the citytweak. With the citytweak we will remove buildings. I have selected the most uninportant, least beautiful and small buildings with those dark trees which are not affected by Haze or Fogparam (why? I have no clue). These dark trees are part of buildings and will be removed. So, after this tweak you will probably not notice much difference in game, though once you fly near or over cities you will save around 5 frames. Not that much but if that means for you going from 25 to 30 FPS a nice improvement. Here are some outcomes: (cities in F11 view) Not Tweaked Mineralnye Vody Objects: 5081 FPS: 43 Nalchick Objects: 6415 FPS: 33 Tweaked Mineralnye Vody Objects: 4563 FPS: 47 Nalchick Objects: 5649 FPS: 37 Go to Ka-50/Bazar/Terrain/Structures/High and cut-paste the following files to a newly created folder (you can always put buildings back). Well, what I always do after a clean install is backup the whole game folder. Then, whenever I mess things up , I can easily fix the problem. Also, you will never run out of activations (you only have 8 ). Anyway, I think a reinstall from both Blackshark and x52 software will be your best chance to fix the problem. If it works, never touch the "game" mode again ;)

Strange issue there, never had that before. What you could try is to go to: Ka-50/Config/Input/Aircrafts/Default/joystick and place the "Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller {D5DF0920-FBE5-11de-8005-444553540000}.lua" in to the Ka-50/Config/Input/Aircrafts/ka-50/joystick folder. Before you do this, backup the Aircrafts folder.

ROFLMAO!:megalol: Good one :D Indeed, I also don't like the "see through" of buildings and that was one of the reasons I put it off in my tweakguide. Though as we found, having FogParam off kills FPS when having the shkval on. I guess we have no real choice here since this frame drop is unacceptable. About the Vsync issue you have there, the last thing I can think of now is to make sure you have both screen and graphic card drivers up to date. So, the other settings you change in your graphic card settings do have effect?

In the first year of having BlackShark I pretty much only did aerobatic flying. Now I *finally* got myself in to combat and found it pretty darn useful to know the exact limits of the shark. The funnel in the exact execution (like you see at airshows) is not something you will see (or use ;)) in combat a lot but, having the skill to do that will help you a lot in many situations. my 2 cents :smartass: -
Fullscreen or not doesn't matter for your problem I think. Limeting the frames in graphics.cfg eighther. The only thing I can think of is that you might have the wrong executable assigned for your graphics card. Make sure it is on Ka-50/bin/stable/DCS.exe and see if Vsync works then. Oh and during testing, it would be better to have MaxFPS at 0 (unlimited). Your graphic card should limit it to 60 FPS if Vsync works.

I have found the issue, FogParam1 and FogParam2 in graphics.cfg. FogParam1 and 2 make the "see through" of buildings which I adviced to put off in my tweakguide. This because it increases FPS by around 3. I tested this in cockpit and in a certain F11 cityview. What I didn't test is what this setting does with the Shkval. Now I did and the outcome is stunning :shocking: FogParam1 = 6 FogParam2 = 0 Inpit: 53 fps Shkval on: 34 fps Difference: 19 fps Cityview: 50 fps FogParam1 = 6 FogParam2 = 1.1 Inpit: 50 fps Shkval on: 44 fps Difference: 6 fps Cityview: 48 fps Thanks for the observation support there Falcon!

I'm experiencing the same. Could be one of the adjusted settings though I haven't found out what setting exactly. It is normal that frames drop using the Shkval, though I have not seen it in this extend (after my tweaking). Will do some investigation,and post it here when I found the issue.

Next thing, the shkval. I'm trying to reduce the severe frame drop when having the shkval on. I go from 50fps to 30fps when I engage the shkval and aim it at the horizon, even if I don't look at the shkval screen! I think it should be not that bad as the shkval only looks at a small portion of the horizon, though it probably gets rendered as your whole horizon visibility settings double. This might not be possible to solve, but who knows. Did anyone find a way to reduce this frame drop / shkval visibility range?

Great observation goldfinger, thanks! I have tested it and indeed, when flying online other aircraft have no heatblur. If you fly offline though, all aircraft have heatblur. I have no clue why this is different from LockOn where every aircraft has heatblur, both online and offline. Allright then, having heat blur off might not be that much of a FPS tweak when you fly mostly online, though having it on is rather pointless in my opinion.

My fellow team mate translated what was said in this video: This is Ukrainian organization, which develops plane, tanks full scale simulators only for military. In video, their one of the last developments - full scale simulator of MiG-29. Simulator is needed for training and improvement of pilot`s skill (maneuvers, and combat systems). Using of the simulator more cheap and friendly for plane`s resource. This simulator is full functional 4th generation of simulators with some elements of 5th generation of simulators. Simulator consist from 6 main parts: 1. Cockpit imitator which completely identical with MiG-29 cockpit (placements of instruments - more then 70 instruments). 2. The computer complex = 7 computers, special soft, which imitate works of plane systems, dynamic of flight (I think AFM ), external conditions (weather, temperature), navigation, acoustic noises (mb they are using your sound mod :clown_2:) in real time. Complex can imitate dynamic of flight in all ranges of speed, altitudes, AoA and yaw. In all modes of modeling is provided the imitation of influence at plane characteristics its center of mass, weight, engines work, position of elerons...gears position. Can be asseigned different terrain territories. 3. Post of the instructor = 3 computers, 5 displays, printer, joystick (x52 ), special soft. Post of the instructor help to pilots`s work, Setup conditions of flight, checking system failure.... 4. Second pilots workplace = 2 displays (1th for instrumens of second plane, 2nd for terrain & sky), joystick for controlling a second plane (I think they fly using network). Second pilots workplace is needed for flight at pairs. or use 2nd plane like a target. 5. Visualization system of simulator = graphic stations, optic-collimated device FoV - 150 deg at horizon & 38 deg at vertical. Terrain = 400x400 km, made by using real maps. 6. Dynamic platform with 6 dimensions of freedom. Pilot feel a shaking when he taxiing at runway. Simulator uses for - prepare plane system for flight, prepare engines, start engines at ground & in the air, taxiing (at day/night, bad/good weather), take off...seek & destroy targets

You kind of make it appear that by heating up your graphic cards your CPU usage went down. I want to point out that graphic cards can not really take over CPU jobs. I think with the changed video card settings, you have set your graphic cards to work harder (making graphics look better). The lowered CPU usage (and increase of FPS) comes from lowering some key options.lua settings. Thanks for your post :)

I'm working on a tweak guide for DCS Blackshark. I think it would be nice to have a good guide for the community seen that information about this topic is all over the place. For this, I need your support! I would like to see if anyone can add missing things and test settings. Note that the tweak guide is not fully ready yet. I'm still about to add city tweaks, as these often give the biggest frame rate issues. Thanks in advance! Black Shark has the same sound engine as Lockon. FC 2.0 will have a completely new sound engine, which will be implented in to Black Shark later on.
