I'd like to unify keyboard command format in the document. Currently we have a mix of two different formats:

1. Without spaces, e.g. [RCTRL+A]

2. With spaces, e.g. [RCTRL + A]

The change log mentions a "two-stage" gun trigger. What is that?

The trigger on the B-8A control stick grip of the F-86F has a second detent.

 

The first trigger detent starts the gun camera; at the second detent, the guns or missiles are fired.

This is already reported ( #32688 ) and fixed internally, but I am not sure if it will make it into the next patch.

Is there an indicator for the Flaps or Speedbrakes? Show if they are down or up?

No, there are no flap or speed brake position indicators in the cockpit - you have to look out the canopy. Adding this info is already on the to-do list for the cold start mission.

Snacko, AFAIK there has been a recent change in input. Speed brakes on the F-86F are controlled by the three-position speed brake switch on the throttle. We now have three input commands for the individual positions (OUT - NEUTRAL/HOLD - IN) and two separate toggle commands for moving the switch up / down.

 

The cold start mission was the first training mission and has not been updated yet to reflect this change. Other missions (A2A Guns, for example - see screenshot) already incorporate the new behavior.

Camera panel textures:

 

• Rotary switch now has the correct labels "BRIGHT", "HAZY" and "DULL".
  
• Camera lens switch now has the missing "CAMERA LENS" label below the switch
  
• I can't find good reference images for the filters. "F1" was changed to "MAIN", but I don't know what "F2" (looks like three letters) and "F3" (looks like two words) should say. Who can help?

There have been changes to the cockpit recently over 1.5.2 and 1.5.3.

 

I suspect the old cockpit skins need updating.

You're best asking the author in the skins and liveries sections.

Correct. In the process of finalizing the module, the internal cockpit textures have improved quite a bit and a whole lot of cockpit texture inaccuracies have been fixed. Who can spot the logo on the rudder pedals? ;)

Feedback on Navigation mission:

 

1) The directive to tune the NDB gets stuck. I am tuned, but the message/highlight doesn't disappear. I am left waiting for further instructions and never receive any.

I think one of my biggest complaints is there is no naming convention. I'm recalling from memory here, but one of the things that highlights is the command to deploy airbrakes. IIRC It's listed from module to module as... Extend Airbrakes, Speedbrakes, Deploy Airbrakes, Airbrakes, etc, etc. So do I look under E, S D, A?

I fully agree with you and I'm glad we have the possibility now to search for all occurrences of "brake"... A very useful feature.

[[NO BUG] radio compass band selection logic]

Hi.

I just updated to 1.5.3 update 2? and the control panel for the radio compass (sorry forgot the correct name) now has a bug. If i move the rotary switch to select a frequency band say 200-410, the dial jumps to 850. i can move the dial to the correct band by picking the different bands using the rotary switch, it just that the rotary isnt selecting the correct frequency band.

 

AN/ARN-6 frequency band selection logic was wrong before and is correct now.

Refer to the arrow on the rotary switch.
